  • I love how the crowd joins in.

  • Oh,and,..how sad it is that people take away from what the writter was meaning, saying that its silly religion, etc. He knows what he wanted to say. That we have come so far as to hate anything even remotely related to God,or iconic people,..thats just sooo sad. And,Im not even religious myself.

  • those arent the original lyrics,by Leonard Cohen. There are different.Cohen wrote this about Biblical people Bathsheba n David,Samson n Delilah, and the Holy Mother Mary.Just do a search in the Wikipedia for this song, and it says there.Cohen said it himself. Just so ya all know.It really IS about the Bible,in the e nd,no matter how anyone takes it.

  • that song is not a song about religion, on line in the lyrics is " maybe thers a god above, but all i ever learnd from love, is how to shoot sombody..."

  • Thank you for doing this - my mom was sick for way too long and I keep trying to spread your videos. I can't hank you enough. The whole thing that you don't thanks is BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Int'restin'

Halleluiah means: Praise God! However the songwriter says: Maybe there's a god above...

Yes, there is, but if you really want to praise him, he wants to dwell in your heart. The real Halleluiah means: Thank you God for what you've done for me! I worship you not because I am good or religious. But because You are good.

We all need compassion, forgiveness, restoration of our sins and broken halleluia-s. The work of the Lord Jesus Christ can only give back our real halleluia.

  • you are so right thats what it means thank you for pointing that out we have to honor the name of the LORD JESUS CHRIST this is such a beautiful song i hope people know what it means the word Hallelujah

  • you should see what happens to this song in the film "Watchmen"...

    Very hot!

No one is thinking about some silly religious icon when you're watching "Watchmen"

  • @cattbariteau

Not sure this song is about religion. "Hallelujah" is used here like John Denver used, "Thank God I'm a country boy!".

  • go away...

    go to church...

just leave us all alone - we don't need your religious bull

  • Next time please think about yourself when you see the crowd part in a Jesus film shouting: "Crucify Him!"

  • @Vattee

    WHY?

  • @vattee

Not sure this song is about religion, IMO.

  • I got a question, cause I dont know thm really, do they mean what they are singing??

  • quel gachis!!!! moi qui adorais cette chanson..

  • argentina loves Bon Jovi.

  • I went to go see JBJ in Toronto back on March 10/08. This was his first encore song that he sang and on that day Cohen was being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. What a great Canadian songwriter!

  • The Bon Jovi band and Jon has consistently proven for over 2 decades now that they can perfect any type of music genre. This very moving and uplifting video just proved it. Thank you You Tube for giving us viewers the luxury of watching these videos of Bon Jovi's perfect interpretation of Cohen's Hallelujah.

  • Idieh you commented this on ALL bonjovi hallelujah versions on you tube, it is spam.

very moving video ? when even the sound and vision are crap? good for you that you are a fan, but stop. if jon farts you would comment the same, I love the guy but please.....

  • moe17moe, Sorry for the Spam,(which I love in a roll), coincidentally I have just opened my copy of Jon & Richie's "Farting the Classics" CD, and it ROCKS!!! LoL

  • Hahaha good one Idieh, you got me, laugh out eh..LOL.

nice change from the hate comments on u-tube.

But...if you know of a clear and good version of JonBonJovi, not a mobile phone held by a shakin from emotion(I love you Joooon) fan... tell me,ok?

(P.s. I love Jeff Buckley's version the most)

  • I saw him in Pittsburgh twice in 10 days and he did not sing this one. I was hoping, next time I'm going to make a sign.

  • thanks for sharing the music of bon jovi.

  • @evertsfnic Its not his song . Its Lenard Cohen but john does a good version of it.
