This is a good perspective. We are so pleased with ourselves to have elected an African American but if we can get beyond that and get beyond the fact that he is a very reasonable person, his policies are quite leftist. My European family is troubled. We went through this sort of thing in Italy and ended up with Fascists and a war.
Thanks Doug for your great perspective on this. I just spoke with my personal M.D. yesterday and I can tell you that he is definitely thinking about retiring early.
I trust Doug's analysis about our political leaders abilities as he's been among them for so many years. I too admire leaders who are decisive and simply take a stance on any subject of importance to us all. Thanks Doug!
Thanks for your comments Doug. We should all be worried about decisions current and up and coming Doctors might make if we are forced into a Health care problem we have no choices with.
But it only hurts until that time which one decides to align with the truth. Said best by William Penn, "Right is right even if everyone is against it. Wrong is wrong, even if everyone is for it."
Sorry Doug, I disagree. President Obama is doing an excellent job of negotiating very tricky waters. Health care isn't about "commanding" the doctors, it's about our country being humane. Ours is the only industrialized country without healthcare for EVERYONE. We are in the dark ages!
Way to go, Doug - call it like it is. Hopefully the rest of America will see President Obama as the "flip/flop" president he is and begin to question what he says and does instead of believing that he hung the moon.

Let's take responsibility and be accountable on our own health. "We're the author of our own health". I think Buddha said that.

Reminds me of FDR's quote, a radical is a man with both feet firmly planted in the air.
