@scythelog Thanks a lot ! It's difficult for me to explain in english. There is a wonderful book but I think it is only in french : "le violon intérieur" Dominique Hoppenot. Your position must be as natural as possible (the same position you have in tai chi). And I don't use shoulder rest.

@StephanieValentin please protect your hearing dear, it becomes an issue later in many a musician's career. Your left ear takes a beating from being closer to the instrument, mostly from the high end harmonics. And no I'm not in the earplug business :) Take care.

@Addictedtomemanga Any of the Yamaha silent violin range will be ok for practise without an amp I have used a few of these and the output a resonable sound or you could buy a traditional violin and fit a pickup I know that you can get ones that just clip onto the bridge.

@Addictedtomemanga Personally I dont think that the Yamaha would be loud enough thinking back to the days when I was in a school orchestra then a youth orchestra I just dont think it would be loud enough. I would go down the route of a traditional accoustic violin and then fit an electric pick up then if you wanted to practise at a quiet level you could always buy a mute(little gadget that sit on the strings) which will reduce the level of sound being put out

Just about as perfect a demo of the Loopstation (and the principle of creating layers of looping elements) as it's possible to find. The final few seconds are pure genius and really emphasise the whole beauty of this way of working. Gorgeous playing and melody as well.
