Are you sure the real Deluminator has 8 faces? Because I have a blueprint of it from the book of the making of the film and I can see 9 faces. I don't have this book. I just found the blueprints from it on the Internet. That's why I'm making other ones because I can't see what's writing on it like the references sizes and the movements. But, by the way, I think I'll keep it as an octogone; it would be too complecated as a 9 faces.

Hey, I FINALLY got mine yesterday! I ordered back in June and it was one hell of a frustrating wait as you know! I want you to know that as hard as it was and as frustrating as all the Noble Collection postcards pushing back the dates...my calls to them, etc., it IS WELL WORTH IT!! It's amazing. Noble promised me (by phone) that my deluminator would ship on Dec. 6th. I still don't have it! Now I'm hearing it may not happen until Jan. 30th. I'm calling them on Wednesday..I'm giving it a full week....your's is cool.....

@skylilly1 Thats so crazy, I cancelled my order the first time they pushed it back. I worked on mine some today and shot some video until I couldn't find a drill bit (lol) Im trying to get the inside done so I made the bell and redid the inner sleeve. Ill post the little bit of video I shot in a few. Jan 30th thats so disappointing... I knew I wouldn't get it first but I thought people would be getting them before Christmas at least.

i think since you made ur own u should make it any color you want with skulls with a dog lol something, or black with flames its your work based on the delumenater from noble collection so you should make it your own gettin the horcrux sticker kit at end of the week and ive got the noble collection time turner so im a fann :D

@rohirrim11rider With the right paint no it wouldnt dilute it but I did try and ran into the problem of it sticking (lol) I did a car in a swirl paint job as a test and it worked really well and turned out crazy good but just wouldnt stick to the aluminum :-(

Mine doesn't do anything except flip the top open and slide a cylinder out (lol) the Noble replica will light up but I am not going to try to wire this up

@coolmagic567 The process I used to make this would cost way more than nobles. I used a lathe, mill, and a welder to add and subtract aluminum, the alum is expensive too.

I think you should make a model Firebolt broom. Buy the Noble Collection Firebolt, make a wooden model, add the metal stuff and the sticks or whatever on the bottom, and paint it. You could easily do that considering your other models and stuff.

I vote for no painting because, like jerbaz17 pointed out, the book describes it as a silver cigarette lighter. Either way, it will be fantastic! I enjoy making Harry Potter "crafts" (for lack of a better word), as well. I'm a woodworker. I'm currently working on a custom built chest full of quidditch equipment. I may post a video when it's finished. Great job, Eviltig!

@jerbaz17 Probably will leave it silver, I tried to swirl it by dipping but it would not stick so I would have to rough it up a bit and I kinda like the look of it and your right it fits the description better this way

I tried the borax and paint in water, didnt stick..... to smooth I guess so Im gonna leave it brushed or if I come across the marble paint in the right color I might try that

It would be cool if you left it as it is. But it would be really cool if you painted it. Yours would be better looking than the Noble one because I read the thing in my movie case and it says it lights up which makes it seem more like a toy.

hmmm Im not sure if you should paint it yet, I think it'll look quite nice polished and buffed or whatever you do :P do that first, then roughit up again so the paint will adhere :) and the Borax method is awsome, Infact I was gonna record my guitar swirling today :) and as ever, awsome video!
