david is the most amazing man on this earth..plays that guitar like its nothing..imagine him and jimi together, shredding all the amps and melting faces
this video.. looks nothing like it did when i was sitting there. but forceful tears of unexplicible spiritual bliss and joy push their way out of my eyes even now as i watch this. truely a miracle of man-made wonder that no words can describe..
if i could find any words that came close to describing that night i saw the Pulse Tour in london.., those words themselves could be composed into a song, that would be amazing, but not 1/2 as amazing as this night was..
@Jagethemage I shall never forgive the universe for being born too late to see this :(, Thank God for DVDs, or I would have never felt some of this amazing experience. I truly think this is are the sounds of emotions.
95% of teens these days listen to the same crappy pop songs over and over. if your one of the 5% left who still listen to real music, thunb this up, then copy and paste it to t least 5 video's. DONT LET THE SPIRIT OF ROCK AND ROLL DIE!
@thiagosats thats cool and all. but please dont spam on a great floyd vid like this.. every time you even 'MENTION' the names of those garabage 'musicians', its multiple steps backwards for the REAL music that graces this earth. sorry if i sound like an ass, mate. much <3 to you, and all that shall come from you :)
@mmmbilly you are very right.. it's very much on time. they had a master click track that they could all hear individually, so that they could time the pre-recorded stuff (sound effects) and the lights... so everyone had to be bang on or the whole thing would go out of whack. I've been playing drums for years and years and yes, Mason is a click track himself.
my first concert i ever went to, it was in Paris with my first G-friend. i had never heard of Pink Floyd before. i was a hip hop and tekno guy. till today i went to about 80 concerts or so, maybe a few more or less.. who cares.. but THIS was the BEST concert i have EVER been to! bone chilling! goosebumps through the entire show!
My Gfriend asked me why i hadnt paid any attention to her, i couldnt. i was so in aw, so in trance... i didnt see anything but the show. GREAT !
@DerEddi I went to see Pink Floyd for my best concert ever 10th of April 1994 in Mexico City. I remember perfectly because it was one day after my birthday and my dad took me as a present. He promised it will change my life, I was just 9... I dont remember that much, but it certainly made a huge impact, all those lights the stage, the emotion and loudness of live music, the beginning and end of the concert I will never forget. Today I just take any chance to see live shows I can...
Truly amazing. Best band in the world. I was a tad disappointed that the "computerized" voice of Stephen Hawking was absent in the live show, though. You'd think they'd have used a recorded reproduction of it for this song on their tour. (?) I'd seen the Momentary Lapse tour (twice, actually) and the Wall, but missed this one, sadly. Now, of course, sorely wish that I hadn't. Thanks for posting this pinkclimax :o)
@JamesSCameron it's not missing in reality, only on this video for some reason. I own both PULSE cd and dvd, and it is not missing. and yes I also own the VHS tape and it wasn't missing either. My guess is the video compression. check out other versions of this on youtube and you will hear it.
They were awesome in the 70's and they are still awesome now. Their music transcends music trend and will live on a long time after they have all past away.
They were awesome in the 70's and they are still awesome now. Their music transcends music trend and will live on a long time after they have all past away.
@Erbser Not really,I was born too to be in their generation.I just have always loved their music.Just keep listening and keep taking and that alone will carry their music on.
haha to think half of the younger people of today think all this new Dance, RnB etc is proper timeless music. I'm 14, my grandad got me into Genesis, Floyd etc (In other words the proper stuff) and I'm so glad he did cos the majority of today's music is (we all have our own opinion of course) a bag of shight. This is amazing music!
I saw them the day The Division Bell came out in San Diego. The tix cost me $200 each for 13th row. But worth every penny. We crammed the CD in and drove to San Diego listening to it over and over. I was in awe, and still am. One of PF's best CD's along with Dark Side of the Moon, The Wall, and Animals.
i would give up anything to be able to see these guys live. not only are they the best group out there, they also give the greatest shows. i would give 10 grand to see them live.
I felt exactly the same way back in the early 1990's. I had a feeling that if they ever came back to America again, it would probably be the last time.
When the Division Bell tour came in 1994, I put down $125 (which was a lot back then) for the best seat I could get. It was May 1994 at Cleveland Stadium. It was a cold 40-degrees that night, and we froze our asses off. But I was on the floor, 8th row. Life didn't get much better, and I remember it like it was yesterday.
I love this song so much and this live version is so amazing! David using the talkbox at the end was incredible espeacially at 6:10 when he uses extremly high pitched squeel. Hearing the high pitch squeel and watching the lasers float back and fourth exactly to the melody of the song gives me chills up my spine!
Sad to read all these unqualified comments. Gilmour is a guitar god. I bought a red Fender because of him and I do not play guitar at all. I've been listening and following Pink Floyd for half of my life and love it. Felt very sad when Rick died...
They were and will be the greatest rock band of all time and this song proved Gilmour could do it without Waters!!! One of teh best Floyd songs of all time, both musically and lyrically (with the help of David's wife and a few others)
you're right. This song, and a few others in the Division Bell proved that Pink Floyd DID survive without Roger. The more I listen to this song the more I like it. The inclusion of Stephen Hawkins's voice and words makes it just awesome! I'm speechless .... I can't seem to speak now .... so I'll just sit in the corner ... and listen .... LOL
I've got a deep feelling there is SOMETHING ELSE in their music, something harder to describe: something methaphisical, spiritual and occult. E.g. "The Division Bell" is a Key to create marvellous states of human conscioussnes. And definitely, they are true powerfull magicians using power of incredible sounds to make miracles in our consciousnesses.
It's the end of the song Sorrow, if you watch the clip of Sorrow concurrent with this one, they merge into each other. It's just the song is too long for one whole clip.

Keep Talking,Disability of mankind to Express himself!

This simple exit piece of Sorrow is amazingly simple to play on guitar. Just two strings and a lot of distortions.
