@SickAsItGets your 12s will have about 400 rms per sub so it'll push about a 1000 watts together and since you have a 1800 watt amp it has 900 rms so it'll push it comfortably but if you push it too hard for a long time then it will fry

actualy its when you under power your subs then then turn up the music tell its distorted that you blow the subs ... the kenwood 3012 will handle an orion 2500 watt just fine "2500 watt amp" orion puts out around 800 rms total

oh and sorry for the double post, but anybody looking for a decent bump... these are VERY MUCH worth the 100$ on ebay, get a 1200-2000 watt amp for them and you'll be completely set. these are plenty loud for the tickets you'll get :) by far the best 100$ set of subs you can buy, and don't let the cheapo price make you think they're crap. they're 100x better than sony xplod, and (my opinion) comparable to Rockford Fosgate P2's no problem.

Yeah, you are right man. I have these exact subs and Im trying to push them with a 1,000 watt Xplod and Im not very impressed!! Although the Xplod amp only puts out 185 rms X2 when these subs can handle double that!! What if I got a Kenwood 1,000 watt? Would I see a pretty good difference?

those subs are 400 watts RMS. Since your Sony amp is more than likely 600 watts RMS you are only 200 watts under, and if you tune and wire it correctly, you can get that 200 back, so I say that instead of spending extra money, do what I suggested! You won't be disappointed :P

Hell Yeah Willy!! JL is very NICE!!! I really had no problem with my Kenwood subs, I know they had great potential, but my 03 Mitsubishi's alternator that pushes out a whoppin 85 amps was pretty weak, so if I upgraded from my shitty xplod amp, I would still be pouring gobs of cash into a high output alternator, big three, etc... So I figured JL was the way to go Bro!! The new JL amp takes up less power while putting out just as much RMS as the shitty 1,000 watt Xplod!!

nice, that looks pretty clean bro. good job. I have the w3012 (2 of them) hooked up to an Orion HCCA-D2400 and it is pretty loud. I will hopefully get vids up soon, it's winter and the car is up on jacks atm working on it lol. But it is pretty damn good for 100$ subs with a vented box, and a 2400 watt amp. Keep them bumpin man, I like the setup
