Trained on DOOM? :D Allow me to laugh, I seriously don't think that WASD + clicking gives you any kind of motivation nor experience to go and shoot kids.
(There are 4 parts to my comment since it wouldn't all fit on 1) (1 of 4)If we are a product of our environment as much as affected by those that raised us, wouldn't it be pretty accurate to say that video games can in fact be extremely dangerous if in the wrong hands. If tv, music can affect my moods by making me happy, sad, angry, etc, in theory wouldn't a video game be able to do the exact same thing. Like I said before your environment plays a role on how you react to things, and while some
part 2 of 4 people are still in this fairy world and are like "well where are the parents" reality also is that often parents aren't around for one reason or another.. so when you put teenagers, young adults and kids who are still learning how to deal with there emotions who may/may not have a good structure of a family around things such as these types of games there may be some horrible consequences that come along with it. If you have not been
part 3 of 4 taught/learned how to deal with anger in a healthy manner you may look at what is shown to you in things like tv/video games and think thats acceptable because you were angry or this or that.. honestly it doesn't matter. But to sit and say that you have no influence on what you give to the public is a crock of shit. And while I don't think that these people can be blamed directly I do believe that watching violence is a huge cause of more violence. Statics say if you watched
part 4 of 4. domestic violence while you were young that you are extremely likely to end up and stay in that same type of relationship when you get older, same statics for those who have gone through rape.. if you've gone through these things once you are much more likely to end up going through it again. So if these two things have been proved relating to violence- why do people still act like playing something violent won't lead to more violence. To me this makes no sense.
Like I say, not talking about it isn't going to make it go away. The mainstream media comes out with their "theories", which are always sensationalized to the max because, let's face it, if it bleeds, it leads. They want to shock their viewers so they will keep tuning in, and the corporations can keep making money. Then, if you come out with an idea that's different in anyway, somehow you're suddenly a "fan" of the tragedy. For a country founded on free thinking and speach, that's really shallow.
DOOM? Shit, they'd never top the score boards.

Actually, they did. The fact that they did caused the media to blame manson... which is why he is in the docco "bowling for columbine."
The media also focused on the fact they played doom... maybe you should research more. Yeesh.
