  • Hey now, enough of the advertising in the comments.

  • Simple solution. Two words. ZIP TIE! Cheap and it works! And if your in an emergency and have to get out from inside the garage, you can simply jerk on the handle and break the tie. But it would be impossible to break it with a hanger from the oustide.

  • Thanks! This is SO easy when your garage doesn't have windows!

  • It took thirteen seconds, not six.

  • That must be 6 McDonalds seconds

  • Installing The Garage Shield is really simple because you do not have to remove any parts from your garage door which could make it very unsafe!!You just have to add The Garage Shield to your garage door arm!!.....THEGARAGESHIELD

  • SecureShield, goes over the quick release but still allows the user to pull the chord. Made in the USA, simple to install, and looks like an accessory that belongs. Check it out at First Watch Security!

  • I will b rite back got to Handel some bez

  • THE GARAGE SHIELD is Made in the USA!!! Always buy American made products!!

Some products out there do not FIT ALL garage door openers and are being mass produced in foreign countries.

    ALWAYS SUPPORT AMERICAN MADE PRODUCTS!!!!

  • @Hilljill1000 THE GARAGE SHIELD is NOT mass produced in foreign countries!!...It is Made in the USA!!

THE GARAGE SHIELD is not like the others ,where they state that their product will fit MOST!! THE GARAGE SHIELD fits them ALL!!!!!!...So why take the chance of buying a product that might fit??

  • To all the comments along the lines of "Thanks for showing criminals how to break into a house!"...Criminals already know how to do this...I think that the intent of this video is to show vulnerabilities so that you can correct the potential problem...

    Thanks for the video.

  • This really helps my black market rape/kidnapping carrer..thanks a million dude!

  • THEGARAGESHIELDCOM

  • THE GARAGE SHIELD///The Shield is universal.

THE GARAGE SHIELD does not fit most,it FITS THEM ALL!!!

It only takes a couple of minutes to install and is very inexpensive!!

  • Actually an even less expensive garage door safety product is the

NO ENTRY LATCH GUARD. Only $20 a garage door. Can't be manuvered off the track. So the burglars can not reach the manual release latch as in the video. And the home owner can still operate the latch when the electricity goes off. Not bulky, no tools needed.

Look up the website and see how affordable, practical it is. One of those, "Why Didn't I Think Of That" products.

Looking for Independent Sales Reps for areas across the US.

  • Awesome, I'm going to use this method to steal stuff.

  • If you have windows in your garage door, you might as well put your stuff in the drive way. Why let everyone see what's available to someone with no moral compass.

  • THEGARAGESHIELDCOM

  • I found a great solution!!! look up The Garage Shield

  • yea get rid of the windows on the door! let see how fast you can get in then?

  • People are such idiots why the f*** would you post this here? Now everybody knows and everybody will find solutions to fix it -.-

  • @th3cr34tor The point is to raise awareness about the vulnerability of our garage doors so we DON'T GET ROBBED.

  • @manofgod30 ummm, that was an automatic garage door opener--he tripped the manual override.

  • Clever bastards....Guess I'll have to lock my garage from now on.

  • This is why I setup my own alarm system and ensured every entry point (including the garage door) is armed.

  • I just leave my pet badger in the garage when i go to school. He has rabies.

  • All burglars should be anally gangbanged repeatedly when they're caught, the fucking scumbags.

  • Dumbasses hope you ya'll get your asses handed to you...=)

  • slowest count ever

  • i just drove a car thru the garage door, took like 2 seconds.

  • This will prevent this type of break-in.Really simple!!...the garage shield.com........Do not use any spaces.....................

  • This will prevent this type of break-in.Really simple!!...the garage shield.com

  • I have found a great way to Prevent this type of Break-In!!!You have to take a look at this website I just discovered. It is really inexpensive for more Peace of Mind.Go to The Garage Shield.com

  • Hmmmm we just cut the garage door skin with a pocket knife. Back in the driveway for cover and cuts like butter then step in to bend and youre in with no noise at all. Hehehehehe then the gun wielding home owners shoot ya! Hahahaha

  • Have a garage door with no windows and the mechanism is taped. Good luck!

  • Nice! Works great when you have a Light Section what if the door doesn't have lights.

  • This should not be shown. I have 3 dogs 2 are big and if you get past them you win a pine box.

  • How Much would any of you pay for a device that you can easily install in 5 minutes and it still allows you to use your emergency release properly and safely and it is guaranteed to work!

We are are looking for the market price range for this device.

Please help us with your comments.

  • i don't even have that switch.

  • One more reason to not have windows in your garage door.

  • try it on mine. you will get a 220 volt jolt of power in your arse. by the way after that happens I boobie trapped it to spray a flamable liquid on you then ignite... try stealing my stuff... There is more than one way to kill thief... get a real job

  • @jaminxray

    your a looser eh?

  • come try that on my garage i got something for ya

  • wow this was on my news channel

  • how stupid...i bet nobody knew how to do this b4

  • wow...get that man a stopwatch

  • I have an old garage, & I agree w/ paleale36

  • hey dumbasses just show everyone on how to do it. fuckin Idiots

  • 1. Become engineer

    2. Build sentry turret

    3. ???

    4. Profit!

  • my crime deterrent = a 6'4" 275lb son and 2 pit bull terriers. Come on in.

  • @dezertroseAZ Oh yes, because your son I'm sure is constantly stationed at the home to prevent intruders, and you're two dogs are smarter than someone breaking in. Use some common sense and realize that none of those things are real deterrents. If someone wants in to your house, I'm sure they can find a way to get around two dogs, no matter the breed.

  • @thisisonlyatest1 Exactly.

Pepper spray. Dogs hate it. It's a dick thing to do, but burglars aren't known for their kindness.

    Not to mention guns.

  • i don't know of anybody running through the garage to escape a fire.. the release is simply there should you have to go manual on the door.. which has happened "never" - my solution of a zip tie, is for my safety to keep people out of my garage... in case of a fire.. i'm going out the 12 windows, or three doors... have no reason to go through the garage. - if you are worried about fire over crime keep all your doors and windows open for fast entry... i mean exit. :)

  • Just had our house broken into this way. We don't have windows on the doors either. The police let us know about this method on YouTube. Thank goodness our 160 lbs of teeth bearing large dogs thwarted the idiots! What scum!!

  • Garages without windows are the way to go in the first place. Now, there's one more reason to not have them.

  • yes he used a zip tie - make sure it's a heavy duty one, but it will prevent someone from pulling the cord or release down and stop this kind of break in.

  • When they open up my door...they will meet Jack. 130 lbs of black and brown blur with lots of teeth.

  • Awesome! I just got back from breaking into 3 garages with this excellent method! Thanks a lot!

  • @andy6025

    lmfao!

    Right on!

  • is this helping normal people or criminals? i hope someone tries this while im home, i have a 44mag ive been waiting to test

  • This is great! It's going to give a lot of us law-abiding homeowners a "freebie" opportunity to blow some shitbird's head off! I'm going to wash the windows in my garage door first thing in the morning.

  • 6,5,4,3,2,1 Boom!!! Mines booby trapped. You can also set up a live wire to shock the hell out of the dirtbags. Society's crap needs to be flushed..

  • Yep...you beat something that isn't actually intended to be a security control. This is why most garages also come with locks and bolts that can be put in place to prevent something like this from occurring. A failure on the part of the user to implement the control isn't a failure of the technology, but of the user. This is akin to opening a car door, that wasn't locked.

  • This can either help us or give burglars ideas

  • I'm sure the "six second" break-in was helped by the windows in the garage door. But it's still something to think about.

  • shit yo...i just bought a padlock to prevent this from happening.

  • why the hell is this on youtube? so stupid great lets show everyone how to break in

  • @AccordEXR all the windows in your house must be unbreakable eh?

  • most of these type doors can be opened just by pulling up hard on the door

  • Thanks for the neat video.

  • I like how it actually took 10 seconds

  • i am a burglar and jewel thief and this has helped a great deal.

  • @sof2finchy doubloons?!

  • Oh the entertaining comments made this video so worth watching.

  • I installed the Garage Door Lock from elocksys 4 months ago. That took care of any break-in problems and I found that the best feature is that my garage door closes automatically after 20 minutes. I can't tell you the number of times I've left the door open accidently at night.

  • @datsik I see you figured out that Caps-Lock is 'cruise-control' for COOL!!!11

  • @datsik ima 16 year old and idc if u workout because i fight in mma and beat the mess outta ppl that think they are some total BAs just like you ive wone concescutive junior championships so wow i could do this anyday

  • I don't have windows....

  • buzz buzz buzz...says the alarm system

  • I guess I'll have to wire that knob to the 110.

  • Amazing! Gotta try that after it gets dark.

  • ya thanks for this, my neighbors garage got broken into because of this. i hope ur happy

  • @ninetailedcat Oh shut up.

  • @TheRabidMonkie wtf did i do fag, piss off

  • Lol at all the people acting tough in here.. they are showing how easy it is, no how he is going to do it to you.. take your puppies and you pellet guns to the forest where no one see's how really tough some of you are..

  • That's frightening... someone could be waiting in your house.

  • most likely a nigger would do this so id easily take you to the top of my roof, then throw you off and shoot you when youre falling.

  • @mangirl111 i'm well past middle & if i compiled a list by race of people who wronged & harmed me over the course of my life, White people would win by 1000 to 1 to one. this idea that only people of one race or type are the enemy is BS. if you believe that being white makes a person honest, safe, & trustworthy you are in for some disappointments. the robbery i wrote of in an earlier post- they were white. in the small city where i live 95% of all crimes are done by whites.

  • @mangirl111 not possible, they cant afford coat hangers

    so your safe

  • @therevrend1951 @therevrend1951 i used to know a professional motorcycle thief. he said dogs were the easiest thing to get around. a squirt gut with ammonia and a few shots to the face were all it took. he had more lethal methods of dealing with dogs i won't go in to. he also told me he always went in armed and knowing how far a bike owner would go to to stop a thief, he had no problems using deadly force first.

  • Yippeeeeeeeee!

  • Um it took 12 seconds from the time you put the wedge in. Of course the object of this video isnt to show you how to be a criminal. The point is to alert you as to defend yourself from such an attack.

  • try this on me and ill make my two dogs bite your neck off , then ill shoot you, then curb stomp you.

  • my son watched this and then zip tied it so it couldn't be done.. easy 5 minutes and 5 cent fix to safeguard your belongings..

  • @praisedude it's a safetly mechanism. hopefully he didn't make it so it doesn't work at all anymore

  • @KeithCHoffman - oh I've got 800 tools that cut a zip tie.. but serves the purpose here.

  • @praisedude your son just zip-tied the emergency release handle shut.

  • @praisedude

easy, cheap, and dumb. That release is there for safety purposes. If the power is out, and you need to escape via the garage (in a fire for instance), that ziptie could cost lives

  • @mphollow - it is possible that you go through the garage door to escape a fire.. but almost every house i know about has a door close to the garage door within 15 feet. My concern is about how to safe guard against crime. I'm going through 3 other doors and 16 windows in case of a fire. :) hey don't use the cheap zip tie.. besides the fact that my garage has multiple tools to cut a zip tie..

  • @praisedude excellent, so long as you have your safety covered... I'm pondering what to do myself.

  • @praisedude If there is a fire in your home and all of your electricity is shut off you will have difficult time getting that door open!(especially at night)Or the firemen can just cut it up into pieces since the emergency release lever wasn't working properly.

I just purchased The Garage Shield!!..It is a very simple and inexpensive solution.Gotta see their website!!

  • I HAVE A GREAT DANE AND A BULL MASTIFF THEY WOULD EAT U

  • try it on a garage without windows in the o/h door, while still possible should take much longer, also it is possible to wire up the release mechanism making it nearly impossible to undo from the outside. Therefore cover up the windows and wire up the release mechanism...

  • My dogs are human tolerant too but most burglars won't go into a garage when a dog is barking at them. I never had a garage that was secure anyway ... if they want to get in they will find a way. But this is SO EASY! Sheeesh!

  • I like all the idiots who think this is training for a criminal. Criminals already know these tricks, now you know of something to protect yourself from.

  • @Sidewlk precisely! sometimes the best way to prevent a break in is to try to think like a thief. there are seriously so many ways they could break in that its not even funny.

  • Comment removed

  • Wow, thanks for showing 600,000 kiddies how to break in a house for fun. And why? To see how many views you can get on youtube? The ability to think logically in this age is sadly over.

  • I shoot to kill not wound, the police will only get 1 story! MIne

  • Very enlightening. Run a cable tie srround the release lever to prevent this adolescent trick!

  • Dude that's really creative, good job!

  • To all of you dopes out there who criticize this guy for demonstrating how to compromise a garage door... Have fun surfing the net on your WEP-encrypted networks! hahaha

  • The linkage (the arm) is way too long. If this garage door was installed correctly, lifting the door from the outside would push up on the track, instead of sliding backwards. The linkage should be in a nearly vertical position. It is clearly not. 0:17

  • If this is what you do then you re on your way to forced anal sex or having one or more parts of your body blown off resulting in death. Also. If you come back with some crap like "I was just showing how to get into your house if you lock the keys inside" I will take the next month of work and dedicate every day to finding out your address, place of work, bed time and do things to you most people wouldn't do to a farm animal. I hope your sould belongs to the Lord because your ass may be mine!!!

  • More like 12 or 13 seconds. You could do it faster if you broke the window and grabbed the release.

  • next gen. to get shot!

  • Thats all the time I need to snipe your ass!!!

  • Six seconds is pretty good...but it will only take two seconds for my dog to get to the garage door.

  • A couple screws into the header while you're gone, fixes this problem.

  • This appears to be a warning to people who have garages. Be careful!

Criminals should have figured it out long ago before this video.

  • the design of the door has windows along the top segments so that he can see where to push the hook. most models of garage doors don't have the windows which are much more difficult if not impossible to pull off this trick.

  • it's senseless to get windows in an overhead garage door in the first place......on the other hand if there weren't any windows, this break in cannot be accomplished!!!!

  • Cover your windows. A long screwdriver locking the lower track is invisible to the outside.

  • some one did that to my garage last nite

  • This is CRAZY!!!

  • (Continued) Most garage door openers (Chain or belt) with the arm in this position, will allow the carriage to move backwards enough to get the block of wood (Or anything else) in there to allow this. So- SHORTEN THE ARM AND MAKE SURE ITS STRAIGHT UP AND DOWN! You will have to adjust your down limit to do this! Good luck!

  • I own a garage door company. The way to avoid this is to insure that the operator arm when the door is closed is at 90 degree angle or straight up and down and as close to the door as possible. This prevents the top panel from being pushed back enough to get the block of wood in. If you notice in the video, the operator arm is about a foot or better away from the door and at an angle.

  • come on in, i will shoot your ass dead

  • @paleale36 that's assuming you are home when it happens! many years ago when i was in the Army i shared an apartment with 3 other guys. one night our apartment was robbed while we were all home in bed. we all heard it going on and thought it was one of the others clomping around the living room with the stereo headphones on. the thieves dropped some stuff on the way out which finally prompted me to get up to see what was going on. we were all armed and had guns handy but it didn't matter much.

  • @paleale36 If you're there. They'll do it when you're not.

  • @paleale36

shoot who "dead" ? Yourself ? for if you ever got locked out ?

  • @paleale36 Not when you're not home, Tex.

  • @paleale36 LOL -- do you live in your garage? Are you awake at 3:00am? Well then...

  • @paleale36 Right. Because you spend all night, every night, sitting in your garage with a shotgun.

  • Of course, you have to look for one with the require aluminum soffet & facia; and a door with windows so you can see what your doing ...

  • If they don't enter through the garage door they will enter through a window ... if someone wants to get into your garage or your house they will find away. Then they have to deal with the pit bull or the shotgun. Carry enough insurance to cover the loss of what is in your garage, it's the most vulnerable spot on your property.

  • @lazyhills1 My Pitbull is worthless against thieves (most Pits are, they are human tolerant).

  • That's why the cops recommend this type of door so the Feds can get right in for a "Patriot Act"-authorized "Sneak and peak"

  • If a stranger comes to your door and asks if you have a home alarm system as part of a pitch to sell you an alarm system, it may very well be a scam by thieves. If you answer 'No' to that question, they'll pretend to pitch an alarm system, but may return later when you're not home and rip you off.

The best answer to that question about a home alarm system is "Yes, we have an alarm system. It's provided by Smith & Wesson."

  • The bar is absolutely not installed properly. A quick look at the installation guide will show a homeowner how to adjust the bar. If installed properly it is impossible to open the door using this method.

  • @ellison52 Like it was that big of a secret & @norseman7373 Do you have the ability to shoot indiscriminately when you're not at home? Just a question...

  • Just passing this video along. only takes 6 seconds...

  • oh great. lets just help them get better at robbing us

  • what r u some kind of criminal mo fo??

  • thanks Ahole

  • LOL, my garage is detached from the house. If you wanna go through all that trouble to steal a shovel have at it. That's all that's in the garage when I'm not home, garden tools. Now my shed's a different story but ya gotta get past my three dogs to get in there. Good luck, LOL.

  • Thats why my garage has NO windows. You cant do that if you cant see....

  • @norseman7373 I laughed my ass off at that comment.. I would have done the same thing,,,ololololol

  • BLAM! oops knees, BLAM, oops other knee, BLAM oops crouch, oops moving target BLAM, BLAM, BLAM, BLAM...oops reload...BLAM, BLAM, BLAM, BLAM oops sirens....oops too late!!!

  • lol god im glad i put a side latch on my garage if you work in a place with a warehouse its the same they put on the bay doors. locks in from the side and i don't have a electric garage opener

  • Way to go, norseman7373. I'm with you. My alarm system's by Colt, Smith & Wesson. And lots of my immediate neighbors are armed as well. While fiberglass and pressboard (cheap) doors are light, my double door was weighed for new springs about 5 years ago. Weighs about 365 pounds. Hope the dude trying to lift it is a World's Stronget Man competitor. ;-)

  • That's nice and all when you have windows in your garage door to see the release handle. Won't work on mine though... not with a Jack Shaft opener.

  • If you don't have a need to open your door on a regular basis, slide the lock on. Or, have neighbors who look out for each other....

  • if the garage has windows it will work, allot do not.

  • That's why imma have to invest with getting that loose end tightened up....I'll be calling my alarm company to get the garage protected by the alarm system for when I'm not home and like alot of you have said; I just picked up alittle something too for them rat bastards who wanna try to come in there and take my shit....

  • Thanks for posting this. most people think they are secure.

  • Its easy when there is a window to look thru. How long does it take on a solid door with no window?

  • Exactly why you need a personal protection weapon. I wouldn't hesitate to drop you. Another reason why we don't have windows on our garage door.

  • New business opportunity in this Obamanomic economy! Been unemployed for a long time due to all this "hope & change" and I need to make money as my unemployement checks have run out. Thanks for the idea.

  • I can fire an entire round in less than 6 seconds.

  • why dont you come to my house and try that shit

  • Another reason to use security sensors on the garage door or the secondary locks. It takes an extra 30 seconds to lock/unlock but worth the extra security in my opinion.

  • Great way to go since most ppl keep there angry pit bulls in there garage .. esp when there gone.. show us what you do when you face that dawg!!!

  • Thanks for posting this... I have to go tip tie my release lever now...
