The only doubt I dont live in USA so dont know what standards you have there but what about CO2 emission (Its an old car it have to smoke like dragon) and pedestrian safety can you drive with those spikes?

I am in love with old cars but instead of spikes i would reinforce the cage cuz olds car have no chance in collision with new cars in fact very often you have bigger chance to survive collision in chinese cars so passenger safety first.

Then engine modification and cockpit restoration to the original style.
