i have make several rails with abs tubing i tried pvc but it will crack, found that out the hard way. Once you have amde one rail you can try many designs such as up rail, urban rail and kinks.
ok, i need help pleeease!! I made my summer setup. Got the astro turf on a hill and a box at the bottom. I used a sheet of Lexan to go ontop of the box. now what do you put ontop of the box to make you slide? greece? water? what???
way more legit than my set up haha i used 2x4s to make the frame and masonite with pvc coping, i have a 10ft flat and a 16ft a frame. this is fucking nice though, how much were the the materials?
when ever i get around to building mine im going to use plastic adhesive to avoid using screws. real talk though that is such a quality jib for it being portable.
what's the point of having coping if the plastic is higher than it? you're just going to catch as much edges than you would if there wasn't coping at all
but if the plastic is higher than the coping your board won't touch the coping at all unless you're sliding the siding off the side of the box. most boxes i've seen/ridden the coping is even or slightly higer than the plastic. my friend owns a buisness making jibs for most the terrain parks in Atlantic canada and his are even with the plastic, rides fine. edges won't catch hard metal coping as easily as softer plastic
hey just a question how much did the build cost all together?? because im looking at making one of these in welding class for bonus marks :):) plz reply
What is the top clear made out of and what is it. Please let me know

has anyone had success with using pvc for the surface? or does it shatter in the cold?
bcarl10101 2 years ago
lot of people & ski resort useing pvc for surface. pvc is softer then acrylic so easy
to get scratch but good slide. acrylic is
harder i think it`s best but if box dosen`t
have coping or any space between base
get crack when u jump on it. glue it
wireclothing 2 years ago
@wireclothing does it scratch ur board or the rail

@bcarl10101 I've used PVC, It's slippery, but it works great for a skinny jib.

does plexiglass work for the top? anyone please answer
snowboarder727 3 years ago
that is same thing with acrylic, you can use it
wireclothing 3 years ago
My experience has been that plexi tends to shatter and crack when you down onto it with your board
the1legoguy 3 years ago
thats too bad... i was maybe gonna use it as a topsheet for my rail :P

wtf, the coping is supposed to be higher then the top sheet!

MacGasco 3 years ago
check new vid "making own jib after edit"
i put some advice,
my coping is 1.11/16in pipe,kind a heavy
I recommend 1.1/4pipe, and use square pipe
or 90degree steel for legs,
more easy to make
wireclothing 3 years ago
what's the point of having coping if the plastic is higher than it? you're just going to catch as much edges than you would if there wasn't coping at all
samdow1993 3 years ago
for smooth slide and spin, this is box, not
rail, top sheet is put on plywood, it`s bend
when u jump on it, if it`s same level with coping easy to catch edge, not smooth, check
box next winter at Terrain Park, almost box
has higher top sheet, if it not,u try it,
is bad feeling,
wireclothing 3 years ago
but if the plastic is higher than the coping your board won't touch the coping at all unless you're sliding the siding off the side of the box. most boxes i've seen/ridden the coping is even or slightly higer than the plastic. my friend owns a buisness making jibs for most the terrain parks in Atlantic canada and his are even with the plastic, rides fine. edges won't catch hard metal coping as easily as softer plastic
samdow1993 3 years ago
really , last few day i always thinking,
i know if it`s same level, that`s better,
but there is not difference feeling,
my topsheet has planed edge,
but this not conclusion,
most boxes i've seen coping is lower,
last few season i was wanted to make own box,
so i checked many boxes, then find this,
but now... well i `m going to fix legs of box
so try to put topsheet as same level as coping,
wireclothing 3 years ago
if u catch an edge at the beginning of a box ur a noob anyways
MacGasco 3 years ago
i`m talking instructions,not snowboard skill,
wireclothing 3 years ago
no i no im saying in general if any catches at edge on a box they are noobish
MacGasco 3 years ago
hey just a question how much did the build cost all together?? because im looking at making one of these in welding class for bonus marks :):) plz reply
