Depends. You can always catch HIV when there's not a latex or polyurethane condom involvded. It's just always safer to stay in a relationship and both get tested for everything before you engage in sexual acts. And remember, even in relationships, it's better to wear condoms because HIV tests can take up to 6 months before they show someone is positive.

Also, 1 in 4 people have genital herpes or warts (which are spread by touch alone - condom or not). Just be safe.

Advice to all – strap it on and even so, don’t come inside, period. I came up during the age of AIDS (53), and  I must admit that I miss barebacking, but nothing’s a more sobering cure for denial than going to 2, 3, 4 funerals a month and noticing that before long all of your friends are gone (mostly in their 30’s). I 40years old and a transsexual and believe it or not, I have dodge the bullet of HIV. I have done a LOT of things in my past and by the Grace of God; I don't have HIV. A lot of my close friends do and a lot that I have lost did. I haven't had any sexual contact with anyone in a couple of years because I am terrified of letting HIV be my last will and testament. Instead, I buy luxury cars and nice things to fill the void of a man in my life. At least my cars can't give me AIDS.

A friend and I were talking about this recently. I remember we were at Black Pride in Atlanta last year and noticed about a dozen barebacking parties ON ONE PAGE of a website.
