Amazing & Marvelous operating system with great depth better than Microsoft. In this operating system free from every virus. I recommend to everyone use this operating system........Thanks
all versions of linux are good distro's, way back SuSe had a Symnatic version of installing software using Yet another Setup Tool (YaST) if i remember right, most of this today is standard unless you choose to not want it, I for one happen to like SuSe funny thing is i use Ubuntu. Ubuntu will be the the windows of tommorrow i'm not knocking SuSe because it is made by another distro in another country all the distro's help to make better distro's
Let´s face it, this Designfeatures are nice to look at, but totally useless for daily use. I need my data now, and i do not want to click throw thousands of unnessesary Informations. The new WinOS´s are an example how you can overwhelme people with absolut unneedet Data.
its just a demonstration. btw a lot of features are so useful (expose like window handling, for example) and helps me out in my work (working with lot of files and folders and with lot of windows).
and dont forget, you have the ability to do it for yourself, its not a scheme or not a pre-built theme with 1-2 options.
obviously u don't know anything about linux because its free, more stable, more secure, and comes with alot of applications and utilities that you would normally buy with windows...so in all u got a free OS free apps no need to install virus protection and u get better performance out of your machine also but windows rape all of you resources
it has no problems with it :) im running those (not every, and not as in that vid) on my laptop, its fine (its a celeron 1,6 ghz, 1 gig ram, intel onboard vid card :))
I am using Ubuntu 8.04 with compiz fusion, and I have been trying to find out how to get these different effects with opening, closing, and minimizing windows. I have wobbly windows, but that's it. I've seen a fire effect, the effect on this video (the mac like minimization effect), and I have seen one where the window looks like it is teleported. Where can I get these effects, or how can I activate them if they are already in Compiz Fusion?
raid is supported in ubuntu as well, but you just have to install it from the alternate cd, not from the common install cd (or maybe install it from the common install cd, then complie a new kernel with the right modules in it)
nice! u dun use it this way do u? cuz it seems pretty hard to read from here. Dude u must be good at this stuff. I used Fedora 7 or Fedora 6 before its really hard. Like ended up with Grub blocking access to the machine. Glad that's over Suse rocks btw thats one operating system that i like now but back then didnt.
I'm a fan of anything that's not windows! I'm a Mac user myself, but I have an old version Linux (SuSE distribution) that's probably from the same time as Millennium Edition. I have PC from around that time running XP right now so I think I will put Linux on it.
LINUX ROCKS...Windows are for beginners; People who do not know what can be done with a computer. Apple OXs are for people who likes their computers to look pretty and have money to pay for them. LINUX are for the smart guys who want a monster in their boxes and take advantage of the technology that is out there created by other smart people.
just for your information, composite and eye candy desktops on linux are available from 3-4 years when vista was nowhere ;) ah, and fyi ms must removed the default font from vista in beta stage, because they stole it from a german company ;)
ah, and if linux community steal then why we have much more effects and much better performance? :) just fyi, what you see in this (and other videos) are runnig fine on a low end pc where vista wont boot ;) and if linux suxxx, then why ms using linux boxes on their network? :D
i never heard about it, but on their site this is the latest news:
.:02-15-05:.
Quick and dirty update: LainOS is on hiatus for a few months more. Our project lead, Neovanglist is moving across the Big Pond and will be very unavailable for a while. Once his life has settled down appropriately we will be able to resume our Schumann and Accela development.
hm dunno, i think im not an expert in linux, just a user who knows his system (i mean its not need rocket science but you need to learn (just like in windows if its totally new for someone)
So umm...I used to dual boot Suse Linux 10.1 and Windows XP but one day XP decided that it wouldn't boot if it didn't have the original Windows boot loader and I had to do a recovery and stay with XP...one question, I always Heard of Suse being the best Linux distro and I thought it was amazing specially because of all the features and tons of software it came with...but is Ubuntu even better? because Ubuntu has been getting a lot of praise and downloads lately...
you know, for linux you dont need drivers usually, its in the kernel :D what driver i need after a new install (its about 4 years old without any reinstalls) just an nvidia driver, and im ready to go. i dont need sound drivers, lan drivers, mobo drivers etc, they are in the kernel out of the box :D
thanks again, i love your stupid posts :D dlls on linux looooool
dude you are the most stupid ppl who i know, btw may i ask how old are you? :D
ah and btw a full linux installation with drivers and apps takes 15-20 mins (with 3 click and nothing more), what about win? :D tons of clicks, lot of time without any drivers and useable apps :)
lol at you and your stupidity :D everyone told you that you are not right, but you still write your bs, you are so pathetic :) i told you, there are guis for everything, but you cant use them too, so :D
WTF are you talking about? :D lol you are the biggest moron :D ubuntu is not menu driven, and you need to find a port of kernel? :D looooooool thanks you made my day :D (usa should spend more for education instead of wars)
fyi command line is even faster and better if you know what are you doing (ms is going to release a new win with an option to install it without gui so it seems they thinks that too :)). gaming, pc's not just for gaming. and fyi, some games are even better with cedega then on win (for example in swg you get around +15-20 fps on linux), but some of them will not work on linux (just later). im using win also, but just for gaming, thats why its called "wintendo" in my boot manager :)
lol you just prove your stupidity :D real time doesnt equal to priority, in task manager you can just set the priority (yep, there is a "real time priority" or whatever its called, but its not realtime, they just called it realtime), its the same as --nice -9 on linux ;)
btw there isnt any rtos win fyi ;)
read about modularity, your face will fall on face dude. btw they not just used it for rendering, ilm has linux workstations for drawing and ofc clusters for rendering (they switched from irix)
err the reason when you ask for help they give you command lines is because it removes the chances you get it wrong. how hard it it to cut copy some text then press enter? you can do it through the Gui with something like synaptic but thats harder to explain and you may get confused
lol, you are such an idiot, use your brain and ask google. Have you ever heard of ubuntu linux which has all the features you mentioned plus much more. Its also a very user friendly OS. I don't know about suse tho I've never used it.

You don't have to compile a kernel to get RAID functionality.
Just make sure to install a kernel that supports it when you install the system.
