Of course Patton cares about how he is perceived musically, if not why bother to record at all. Every singer songwriter hopes that their songs are appreciated, the issue here anyway is his covers, some people say they are good, some say that they are not. Its really just an opinion in the end, I must say Robin Gibb is a hard act to follow, his voice is unique he has sang the song for 40 years, and its pretty much a standard, but so what, hats off to Patton for having a bash at it.
