Russian Alpha Group & Vympel will always plan, and prior to the beslan siege they were practicing in a near by school with similar layout. I dought you know much abou this units.

SAS couldn't do better in beslan. It wasn't a walk in a park like the Iranian embassy was. A number of counter terrorism analysts outlined, given the unique circumstances in Beslan siege school, the predicted fatally rate in the event of the siege would have exceed 60%. Due to multiple level ring triggers that would have detonated the bombs. It is miracle that the whole school didnt gets blasted to smithereens when confrontation had begun.

Alfa and Vymple units are are highly trained OSNAZ detachments, the personal is required to have completed higher education, military academy and speak a number of foreign languages.

Alfa and Vymple unit personal is of the same professionalism level as SAS. Roughly $100 000 a year is spent on every individual for training. It the training runs for 5 years. The ech person is always selected by officials, and cannot enrol. Pass rate is 10:2.
