hey guys, i just started play FF7 again on my psp (bought legaly through PSN) and i can't remember anything from when i played on PSX, if anyone can tell me some good places to level up my char.s and Materia early on that would be really helpful ^.^ thank you, im in the sewers under the Dons place atm
Okay, Aero3 is a little disappointing. Is there no way to mod the appearance of existing attacks? Because you could couple the animation with lightning flashes, debris and an actual tornado...
Yes, literally everything slows down to half the framerate if you do literally anything besides a regular attack, even the dash move slows the game down. They "corrected" the script and added 2 new classes and 2 heroes and new vids but the gameplay is hurt bad.
There is a tool called WallMarket that lets you edit things like spells and materia in FF7. It works with both the PC version of the game (which I use) and the PlayStation version (but editing that is much more complicated; some people can do it, but I don't).
If you visit forums(dot)qhimm(dot)com and read everything you see there, you should get enough information to help you edit FF7 yourself.
I'm using a modded Cloud here, so he will look better. And the video is low res. Trust me, if you played the PC version on a full screen you'd see that the backgrounds look much worse in this version, because PC screens don't even out the blockyness like TV screens do.
There's a program called Wallmarket. Google "Wallmarket" and "kernel.bin editor" and you'll be able to find it.
If you have the PlayStation version of the game, you'll have to learn about ISO editing first. If you use google, have a lot of patience and too much time on your hands, you'll be able to learn how to do this.
Well, I see why he used that animation for Aero3. Rapps has that, but I always thought that'd make a better Aero2 and Funny Breath (Isn't that what's it's called?) would make a better Aero3.
I will admit that the aero3 animation is quite weird; I've always thought that it is more suitable for a holy elemental attack.
And it seems strange that two enemies have an attack called aero3 and yet there is no wind materia in the game. Perhaps the game was originally meant to have it and aero3 is a throwback.
Yeah. There are quite a few blank materia in the magic materia lists. If the magic menu could be expanded, some of those attacks could possibly be added. I have no idea how to do that though seeing as that is not in the kernel at all. Only the first 54 attacks are slotted as magic attacks and I don't know how the others are assigned to their categories.
Hmmm...I imagine that one would have to edit the executable to expand the magic menu, and a lot of that is still unknown. At the moment I am sticking to replacing attacks that aren't needed; who's going to miss the spell "escape"?
Awesome work. Though I'd agree with NFITC1 in that the animation you used for Aero 2 should be used for Aero3 instead. I'm a big fan of wind magic, I'd love to try this out myself! 5 stars!
is aero the meaning of wind?

@crusemager
Yes, aero is the wind-elemental attack

@NingyoAijin You can do that, but I think keeping Aero3 as it is in the game is fine.

where d o you get those aqua attacks from? and darkness and aero

you realy should upload these mods aswell as showing them
ixTrickzix 2 years ago
Yeah, I should :3
However, I'm taking a break from modding for a few months. If/when I get back into it, I might think of releasing mods.

Question: Do I have to have the PC game or is this mod for an emulator, oh and how would I get this mod (did you finish it?)?
lennethebeauty 2 years ago
This is the PC version of the game, but this particular mod can be done on the PSX version.
Unfortunately, I only made this mod as an experiment; I haven't released anything.
KudistosMegistos 2 years ago
ah, too bad. I really liked this.
lennethebeauty 2 years ago
I've done a patch like this, but when I put the modded f7 on original psx or psp, the game freeze =( work only on epsxe...

Great! But how did you write Japanese? In the Tags.
kleimiammors123 2 years ago
Copied and pasted from the wikipedia articles, I'm afraid O_o
I want to learn Japanese, but I never get round to doing it.
KudistosMegistos 2 years ago
Yes, I'd like to learn japanese, too, but I first need to finish school^^
kleimiammors123 2 years ago
Yeah, school is a pain ;-)
KudistosMegistos 2 years ago
You're so right! I still need to finish my latin Homework-.- It takes the hole day! School is annoying^^
kleimiammors123 2 years ago
Oh god, Latin! The memories... XD
KudistosMegistos 2 years ago
Yes, Latin is a pain, just like the school^^
kleimiammors123 2 years ago
Forsan et haec olim meminisse iuvabit :-P
BTW, Ancient Greek is far more fun than Latin :D
KudistosMegistos 2 years ago
okaaaayy... What does the Latin sentence mean?^^
kleimiammors123 2 years ago
Perhaps one day it will be a pleasure to remember even these things.
Forsan = perhaps
"et" means "even" here
haec = these things
olim = one day
meminisse = to remember
iuvabit = it will be a pleasure
Yep, I know the pain of learning Latin as well ;-)
KudistosMegistos 2 years ago
:) Vielleicht wird es eines Tages sogar eine Freude sein sich daran zu erinnern.
Perhaps = Vielleicht
one day = eines Tages
it will be = es wird sein
a pleasure = Eine Freude
to remember = sich erinnern
even = sogar
These things = diese Sachen, in this sentence it's translated as "daran"
That's the German translation^^
kleimiammors123 2 years ago
lol, me too, but...um yeah, its said that it's the HARDEST language to learn...haha

well done!

kool, so there are like the fire-ice-bolt series, right?
Abashi76 2 years ago
Yep, exactly like them (although the damage and MP use is more similar to the "quake" spells).
At some point in the distant future I might get round to putting them in the right order in the magic menu ;-)
KudistosMegistos 2 years ago
You can now that the v1.1.8 of WM is out. :)
NFITC1 2 years ago
I noticed that a few days ago; time to do some more hardcore modding, methinks :-P
KudistosMegistos 2 years ago
I don't think this game will ever be surpassed--square with enix is just amalgamated corporate greed: they're so incompetent.
Great game, though! Playin' it again, of course.
wingatei 3 years ago 7
My feelings exactly.
KudistosMegistos 3 years ago
I second that.
Maybe one day they'll realize that they used to make amazing games like FFVII and FFT. And maybe one day chickens will fly.
Till then cherish your copies of great PSOne (or PC if you have that one) games and keep them safe!
Snotnarok 3 years ago
I still have my (non-platinum) FFVII, FFVIII and FFIX games for PSX, with manuals ;-)
KudistosMegistos 3 years ago
I've got my FFVII and FFT originals as well, cheers man.
Have you played FFT for PSP? It's possibly the worst port ever with slowdown with anything that isn't a straight forward attack.
Snotnarok 3 years ago
Nope. I haven't played much at all on the PSP; tbh I'm not much of a fan of handhelds. So, is the PSX version of FFT the best one to play?
KudistosMegistos 3 years ago
Yes, literally everything slows down to half the framerate if you do literally anything besides a regular attack, even the dash move slows the game down. They "corrected" the script and added 2 new classes and 2 heroes and new vids but the gameplay is hurt bad.

I thought one couldn't give an enemy's magic graphical effect to a "kernel" magic, but you managed to do it !
