Sure the band's drill was neat, but I have only one complaint, a MAJOR one at that.That last song that the band played, Slavonic, was my old high schools 50 YEAR TRADITION!!!!!!!!! Then, this band thought hey, why don't we take this song that is so dear to Vidor and butcher it up so we can tick them off. Oh, and btw, Vidor plays Slavonic WAY more better.
Funny thing is that White Oak is better then...most of the bands listed. Probably not this one, and definitely not New Boston back in 2007...but White Oak and New Boston have slipped down into 2A and are the best and largest military bands in class 2A. The only problem is we have the hardest area by far, cough cough queen city. But i look forward to seeing us and Mr. Steele compete with Mr. Lovelace and his band.
if you where actually there that year sitting in the stands you could hear the stomp, nothing makes me more proud than to hear the pride of pittsburg doing their thing....i wish it where still that way. We need you Mr. Steele!!!!!
weak sauce, not the best ol girl. sorry, nice try though... they do a solo every year by the way since they are different every year. vidor, cleveland, you name it... they are all better. trash is the first word that comes to mind when thinking of this band.
@marqusturner Vidor does the EXACT same drill every year, just to different music; check it out and you'll see. And I love Vidor's band, BTW, but they are 4A and bigger. But the judges picked Pittsburg 1st here in 3A and Cleveland was 3rd. These are all excellant bands, but to call this band "trash" is so very wrong !!!
I think your solo was excellant, as was the entire drill. You guys were lucky to have a band director who is not so "safe". Most the band directors do the same drill over and over, but not at this school.
My sophomore year :) I will never forget this !! Haha yeah I was really nervous doing my Tuba solo that time hehe ..! I messed up a little buut it wasn't THAT bad lol
Cleveland lost to this band??? We must be falling off these days... or maybe they didnt come that year. Anyway, I enjoyed many years of beating this band along with New Boston and Lindale.
@Rosiepout This band has EXCELLANT marching fundamentals, better than any military band I've seen in a while, especially the way they countermarch, I love to watch that. I also like how they played the end of Slavonic at the end of the drill!
