This bird is annoying ass hell! Especially in the morning. It doesn't shut up! You guys think its nice for 2 mins, but try listening non stop of this birds random hollering. Like a little child who wont be quiet. On top of that, during mating season its a vicious bird, who will attack anyone who passes underneath the tree of its nest.
This bird is a remarkable creation our Lord has given us. It sings it's heart away and from the comments I read all we do is try to kill it. This is sad. We are no better than Satin if we are trying to destroy this cute little singer. All you who have them out your window are lucky I wish to be able to hear it's beautiful songs... -3 this truly is a great piece of Gods many works....
I love this! It sounds so much like all the birds in Atlanta - Georgia and that is the best thing about the mockingbird. No matter how far am i from home, wen i hear these sounds i just feel save.

Are there any birds that look similar to this in body structure. There are birds attacking me in my yard and I think it might be this bird but it doesn't make much noise so its hard to tell. I live in Baltimore.

i love birds, i think i heard a mockingbird the other day but im not sure. i do know it kept alternating from one sound to another so it may have been a mocking bird but it had dark feathers not light. either way this is pretty :)

Beautiful song and very relaxing...but I know, some people are such nervous, they don't like any sounds at night...sorry, but if you can't asleep with this song, you have a medical condition, called depression. It is a very serious illness and hate to bird's song is a first sign about it.
The reason I like these birds so much is BECAUSE they sing at night. Maybe it's because I'm a birder, but for me it's a reminder that all the beautiful creatures I see during the day are still there when the lights go out. It's nice to hear any natural sounds in a world so polluted by all of our own noise.

@VPR2000 I'm not high, but when I lived in CT when I was younger I used to hear this bird at night, maybe 12 or 1AM and I thought it was cool since it was the only thing you could hear. My mom was annoyed by it though. You have to be pretty dense to actually search for the bird and what it sounds like, then post a comment with words that could only come out of the mouth of a whiney 13 year old child that just missed it's nap time. You could just simply sleep with ear plugs. They're inexpensive.

I love the mockingbird, what a variety of songs. I always wondered what if a mockingbirds library of songs were passed to its chicks and what if through an unbroken chain of passed down songs they could be singing songs from long ago extinct birds?

Yes they have their own sounds as well. Some "phrases" in the middle of the song are unique. In winter and non-breeding season they also have their own short call that sounds like "chuck".

These precious jewels sing lullabyes to me every Spring evening; and the haunting cry of the Mourning Dove serves as my alarm clock in the morning. Actually indigenous to many parts of the world, the Whiner tends to flock to the internet dispersing complaints about things most non whiners find perfectly enjoyable. I think they listen out for the sounds they hear from other birds. They may not duplicate the sound exactly but they sing that way to fit into their environment.

Now I am listening this bird singing just out of my apartment's window. It had bothered me several nights. Almost every night the singing start from 12:00AM and ends around 3:00~4:00AM. It's very loud, especially at quiet night. The fun part is: it can mimic all kinds of sounds like chicken, cricket, frog. I heard someone say it can mimic car alarm, but so far I haven't had luck to hear that. :-) Maybe I need play a demo and let it learn.

A small hawk plucked a bird from my backyard today. I heard the squawk and went outside, but all that was left on the crime scene was a few feathers.

@VPR2000 I'm not high, but when I lived in CT when I was younger I used to hear this bird at night, maybe 12 or 1AM and I thought it was cool since it was the only thing you could hear. My mom was annoyed by it though. You have to be pretty dense to actually search for the bird and what it sounds like, then post a comment with words that could only come out of the mouth of a whiney 13 year old child that just missed it's nap time. You could just simply sleep with ear plugs. They're inexpensive.

I love the mockingbird, what a variety of songs. I always wondered what if a mockingbirds library of songs were passed to its chicks and what if through an unbroken chain of passed down songs they could be singing songs from long ago extinct birds?

Oh wow I saw one of these on my roof about a week ago... he is now starting his song at 3:00 am WOW is he LOUD! He was at it from 3:00am on till 6:00am
My son was like I thought that was a car alarm at first.
It did sound like it ... a little but he went into all these other rants as well.
He is really funny.... AND REALLY LOUD.
Oh boy! hope he gets a girl soon. I am not gonna get much sleep until he does.

Yes they have their own sounds as well. Some "phrases" in the middle of the song are unique. In winter and non-breeding season they also have their own short call that sounds like "chuck".

These precious jewels sing lullabyes to me every Spring evening; and the haunting cry of the Mourning Dove serves as my alarm clock in the morning. Just one of the many reasons why I am thankful for each and every day... :0)

Actually indigenous to many parts of the world, the Whiner tends to flock to the internet dispersing complaints about things most non whiners find perfectly enjoyable. They're often spotted during beautiful sunsets calling out "If you've seen one sunset, you've sen them all" .

Thats great! I have two shorter videos of a Mockingbird in Arizona singing that i took, but not nearly as complete....quite amazing. I used to see them alot here, but these days, I rarely see one. I miss their singing.

I think they listen out for the sounds they hear from other birds. They may not duplicate the sound exactly but they sing that way to fit into their environment.

Now I am listening this bird singing just out of my apartment's window. It had bothered me several nights. Almost every night the singing start from 12:00AM and ends around 3:00~4:00AM. It's very loud, especially at quiet night. The fun part is: it can mimic all kinds of sounds like chicken, cricket, frog. I heard someone say it can mimic car alarm, but so far I haven't had luck to hear that. :-) Maybe I need play a demo and let it learn.
