It's absolute nonsense to actually think if people were to die and they brag on about why is God in certain ethnic origins would subsequently be their saviour. They will realise by the time the moment of their death arrives, a dimension of eerie visions will torment and torture their souls eternally.
One thing that needs to be addressed is religion should not be fused with science when arguing about the philosophical aspects of the emergence of various beliefs of religion spanning over 5,500 years. It's pointless exercise for people who are simply unaware of basic knowledge of religion and why people think defiance of beliefs is a virtue when they literally don't understand the consequences of why they breach monotheistic religious types and still think God will take hold of their spirits.
@The420Gunslinger- No it isn't you moron. To be an atheist is one view-point one ONE issue. Atheists don't have a guide book that lays out how an atheist should behave etc. an atheist can be gay, homophobic, racist, a pro-rights activist whatever....it JUST means you don't believe in God. A large percentage of atheists however tend to be more scientific and factual in their thinking. Piss off now.
i am the only atheist in my family and religion is the cause of most fights in my house, especially since my mother is a sunday school teacher. my mom is pretty much one of the people who is afraid of me, just because i dont believe in god. but i am so happy i have a support group of atheist friends at my school. :] good video.
I was already Atheist before watching this video, but somehow it has still made me take a look at myself, and the damage religion may have done to my mind before I "woke up." Thank you.
@Richy15251 Because there is no one scientific method. It depends on the discipline. For example, astronomy is an observational science, whereas chemistry is an experimental science. There is theoretical physics (where "theory" largely equals mathematics) and experimental physics.
@Richy15251 Actually as someone pointed out to me, there are sources quoted in the description, but I hadn't noticed this when I wrote my comment :-).
@PhillipChristoph Now your true hateful religious spirit shows itself (it only takes time). You swear at us and want us to die and you have the nerve to complain that we might be angry. You are a disgusting human being who has no idea of the concepts of love or caring. You are a typical religious bigot. We can't hate a being that doesn't exist. That's called "logic."
@PhillipChristoph Atheists aren't so much angry as finally speaking up. For centuries, atheists have been tortured and murdered. We have suffered the anger and power of believers through most of history. We are tired of it and won't accept it any longer. I think that even strident language from an atheist is better than murder by religious authorities. Don't you agree?
Do you mind my asking for specifics on the first two graphs? I.e. how many people were asked? What types of people were asked? How did you choose people to be quized? What is the level of education of the people asked? From where in the US where people asked?
So, basically Americans don't agree with people who live their lives based on facts and evidence and not a delusion? Basically, the courts require facts and evidence before denying someone their rights, just like atheists.
JESUS CHRIST, HIS CATHOLIC-UNIVERSAL-APOSTOLIC CHURCH, SACRAMENTS, THE BIBLE, MIRACLES, HEALINGS, ST. MARY APPARITIONS, MESSAGES FROM HEAVEN, SIGNS IN 2011 ARE NOT A MYTHOLOGY BUT THE REALITY !!!
@mrtadreamer no, perhaps all you foolish religious people who believe the bullshit you believe could go and live in a country on your own together, and then perhaps you'll realise that all your religious beliefs are mutually exclusive, and that you're all wrong. how can you justify the belief that your jewish or christian god is the true god, when that excludes one of them immediately. can't you see the hypocrisy?!
@dirtychinchilla In order for you to subvert America away from her Judeo-Christian foundations, you'll have to get rid of most Ameican citizens in the same manner as your communist/atheist counterparts got rid of those who opposesed them during the 20th cenury. by mudering them by the millions in mountains of bodies and rivers of blood.
@dirtychinchilla In order for you to subvert America away from her Judeo-Christian foundations, you'll have to get rid of most Ameican citizens in the same manner as your communist/atheist counterparts got rid of those who opposesed them during the 20th cenury. by murdering them by the millions in mountains of bodies and rivers of blood.
@mrtadreamer they just know the truth and would rather live with that than devote time to lies. hopefully, one day, the judeo-christian population will have come to realise the truth and the indoctrination which effects them, and frankly, the pure idiocy of what they believe
John 8:31-32(NKJV) 31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
In religious-land, where these people come from, there is no end of a debate. That is why you will never win an argument with a religious person. -They have made up their mind and no amount of logic or counter-arguments will change their mind. They are fully dependent on god and belief in heaven. And its funny the morality thing ALWAYS comes up. Atheists are the most moral people according to the statistics in this video, and we DIDNT get morality from the bible or quran.
@PhillipChristoph Territorial? This from a group with churches all over the U.S. that wants the whole world to believe what they believe. Now that's territorial. We atheists are tired of the nonsense and the terror fomented by religious fanatics. Believers have been torturing and killing those that don't agree with them for centuries. We have every right to speak up. Keep your bogus science out of our schools and keep your bogus morals out of our government.
alright, ya fool, you should've give me a link or something about this "taqiyya".
what I explained to you before about the three things? it's called تقية "taqiyya", but it was similar to an other word, طاقية "HAT in English", if you don't know, there are two (or even more) doctrines of Islam, she'a, and sunna, (like a catheolic christian for example), sunna has it but restricted to the 3 below, she'a has it opened although their doctrine has alot of mistkakes.
@X3BOOODYX2012 Wow...the word is similar to hat. Who cares? I understand there's a different use of taqiyya for Shias and Sunnis. Maybe the two sects will just have to fight it out. Oh...sorry...that's already happening. That's one more round of murders and bombings for the "religion of peace."
really? for your information, to be a muslim(sunni or what so ever), you have to believe in allah as the only god, and mohammed(PBUH) as his messenger(prophet). most shiya(especiallly in Iran) believe in Ali(mohammed's cousin) as the last prohpet instead, infact they're worshiping him alongside allah. that's not islam, allah wants you to worship him alone, what does shia do is the opposite. shia are the ones who rape 6 year old, and torture themself, etc...
and for those "bombings", look up for who bombed first. even in Iraq they suspected an existing Nuke with saddam hussain, and after killing 15000 muslims, they didn't find them and they just "sorry".
but now, it appears that we're going to an other subject. "hatred of atheists".
I swear that every atheist video on YouTube was hateful as hell.
then. if you have any question, then ask, because after I answer, I'll ask you.
@X3BOOODYX2012 By the way, I am fully aware of the Islamic practice of taqiyya, which allows Muslims to lie to infidels to protect the faith. That's why I don't belief anything that so-called "moderate" Muslims say. Your faith is the worst faith ever invented. It's primitive and hateful. And the proof of that is all over the world, from Denmark to Somalia. I am glad that your god only exists in your sick mind.
taqiyya? you let that out, all what I know that if we put taqiyya in Arabic it would mean in English "HAT", in islam a lie is a great sin except in three situations, offical war, between a man and his wife, and for fixing friendships of other people. I know my religion more than you do. stop saying lies about it if you don't know.
@X3BOOODYX2012 I do know and your religion allows you to lie to me because I am a non-believer. You are even allowed to pretend not to be one of the faithful under al-taqqiya. I know that your religions says that a lie is a lie except under certain circumstances. Thanks for proving my point that your religion allows you to lie. Or is that a lie as well?
give me an evidence that it says so, either way you give me or not, you're a lier, you don't know anything at all. and as I mentioned before as far as I know taqqiya means "hat". and I'm not going to repeat what I've written again.
@PhillipChristoph Atheists can't hate what doesn't exist. What we hate is when religious people try to ram their beliefs down our throats. We understand the world perfectly well. We know that disease is caused by germs and not some pissed off deity, as idiots like Pat Robertson keep stating.
@Pwiddu It can be when religion makes you kill others and crush their rights not to believe in what you believe in. I just find it sad that most people are so afraid of death being an end that they make up stories to lessen the fear. You stopped believing in the tooth fairy and the Easter bunny. Now it's time to let the rest go and take responsibility for your own actions. If you must though, go to your church and pray in your home. Just keep it out of my school and government.
God is magic and in the bible its full of stories about magic. Yet when I look at the world I don't see any evidence of magic. Not even a little. Yet some people are so sure of it they blow them self and others up without question. What kind of thinking is that? Faith... the absence of thinking.
Christians ignore science cause they want to keep there God a small weak God in there world. they have no idea of the wonders of science! The universe is much bigger than even God!
@Entropian2012 Yeah, it's so good that you feel you have the right to control others, just as your religion controls you. That is certainly a lot easier than respecting others, learning or thinking. You can just keep on living your pathetic life as a slave. You must be a Mormon, whose founder was a charlatan who fooled the idiots of the old west and whose leaders are fooling the idiots of today's west.
@ghostframer First off I follow No one religion... I believe in god and I rely on many sources to teach me about god.. I control no one I preach to no one people can believe what they wan't See this is a situation where assuming something about me makes you look foolish.. So knock it off with the hatred.. that will destroy you both in this life and the next...
@Entropian2012 You are glad that the church controls the government in Utah and yet now you say you follow no religion. You sound very confused. I have nothing more to say to you.
@ghostframer A church running the government is a hell of a lot better then atheists in any way shape or form Least in Utah Government has a strong religious background, This is why Utah has one of the strongest economy of all the states Of course I don't follow the Mormon church but I don't hate that their in power ^^
@Entropian2012 According to U.S. government statistics, Utah is 29th in economic strength out of 50 states. That's average, not strong. The province of Alberta in Canada has an economy that kicks Utah's ass and that province is run by a secularist government. Sucks to be you.
@ghostframer Government statistics are accurate lol? I've traveled to almost every state in country and stayed for extended periods of times And Utah is by far better off financially You can tell by observing the people
@Entropian2012 The statistics for these figures are provided by the government of each state. You know, the state government that you say is so wonderful.
@ghostframer lol government statistics are all fibbed and our not accurate I never said my state government was good I said the state of Utah was wealthy compared to other states ^^
@Entropian2012 Fibbed? What are you, a four-year old? You mean the great government of the United States lies to all of its people. That's an amazingly un-American statement. I bet you're hunkered down in your concrete bunker with your gun and your ammunition and your Bible.
By the way, it's "are not accurate," not "our not accurate." Must be that great Utah education. Sorry to be so mean, but it's like shooting fish in a barrel.
@PhillipChristoph Your statement is beyond ignorant. To me you sound like you are the angry one. How can we Atheist possibly be angry with god when we don't believe in such a thing. I am a very happy person, and I am very happy that I don't have this god character in my life. I feel a lot better about my life knowing I don't need to have "the fear of god" to make the right moral choices. I gain my morality from common sense and caring for my fellow man no matter what his or her beliefs.
@PhillipChristoph You cannot hate a deity that does not exist. By using the word hate you made an assumption. Atheists don't hate God, they deny his existence. God does not exist. God is not hated by Atheists, God does not exist.
I think Athiests and extreme Christians are both wrong. I believe in God but don't go to church or any religious service. I believe its importand that we as humans believe in God but I don't think believing in any certain religion is going to do any good. I believe God is the universe and is an energy that connects with us but we control our own destiny with every thought.
You redefine and establish your own view, then you call it the same name that has been given to others. What you are saying, and publicly announcing it, that you believe others are wrong about god, and that your view is more likely correct.
Get in line... you are #9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999
Also, you are attacking (raising accusation against) atheist for simply not believing.... hmm? what isn't extreme about that?
@DeconversionCentral I was just stating my opinion and what I believe. Its fine if you choose to be an Atheist or to believe in a certain religion and I was not trying to say that what I believe is correct, I was just saying my opinion thats all.
@AUG351 Most certainly, you've explained the obvious. And, those *opinions expressed* "that others are wrong", followed by a favored abstract idea that comforts you. I said "more likely correct", do you deny this?
Correct me? You announced some opinions publicly, I read your comment, and I challenged your statement. Perhaps you should reconsider your idea of expressing yourself to the open public?
Your statement being of mere opinion does not shield it from criticism, nor should it.
@AUG351 As an atheist, I see where you're going with this and it does have at least some sense as a spiritual belief, but good luck getting this by a fundamentalist Christian or Muslim.
all christianity (and a handful of other religious i can't recall right now) really is comprised of is a bunch of people drunk on power who twist a well-intended doctrine for their own ends (e.g. the Bible) and brainwash their followers into believing them
i've got nothing against religion itself, got nothing against the Bible or its teachings, but the christian hierarchy to me looks like an out-of-this-world corrupt political system, no thanks to human nature
Ehm, the percentage statistics isn't conservative, the sum of all percentages aren't 100%, it's more! How are these studies performed and calculated? And why isn't the option "I wouldn't disprove of my child to marry anyone at all" (for example) allowed/showed? This statistic is BS.
you know, i was going to put something here emphasizing solidarity among everyone despite belief system, or sexuality, or criminal status, or whatever, but i really don't think it would help anyone, not here, not this method of communication.
religon is bad. If there was no religon than the holocaust would not happen, 9/11 would not happen, and the crusades and all other genocides would not happen.
Telling children there is no god, gods etc. is just the same as telling them there is a magical man in the sky that will help you make the winning touchdown.
Let the kid decide for himself what do believe, even if it is dumb. A christian family should accept their atheist child, and an atheist family should accept their recent convert child.
@ShindentheGreat Telling children there is no boogie man/men etc. that will eat them if they get out of bed is just the same as telling them there is a boogie man/men etc that will eat them if they get out of bed.
Besides being very bad logic the premise is flawed all atheists I know don't tell their children there is no god(s) just that they don't believe, in other words letting them decide for themselves.
fine, totally right, I'm a muslim, by your logic.
I'd perfer living as muslim and then discover that there's no god, rather than being an atheist and then find that there IS god. which's better? I'm a winner 100% either way.
true, but that still doen't mean he will truely choose by himself, he must be effected by the outer conditions. (people, society, internet), so basically he's not "truely" choosing by himself.
I feel like the prison statistics would work better if it was the percentage of the group that was in prison rather than the percentage of prisoners that were of the group, because the sizes of the groups were different. There are more Christians in the general population, therefore there would probably be more Christians in prison whether religion was a factor of criminal activity or not. (I'm an Atheist myself.) This video makes me sad.
I also love the chain of reasoning here: "Richard Dawkins says religion is child abuse, and child abuse leads to violence, therefore religion leads to violence".
I also like how you bulletpoint your anti-religion rants like they're facts, and present them alongside the highly dubious statistics.
The "peaceful contries" bit comes from an atheist who correlated the results of the "Global Peace Index" and the "World Values Survey". He doesn't break down the data for us to examine, so he may have cherry-picked the countries. His correlation only considers countries, though, and not populations; for instance, the two most "peaceful" countries in the study are Iceland and New Zealand, which have miniscule populations, but which are given the same weight in his results as the United States.
Please... Simply make a comparison between countries of equal population.
You do not need to cherry pick.
It could be that people living in turbulent countries turn to religion, or it could be that religion is not a good way to structure modern society. Or it could be that some other factor or combination of factors (democracy? free speech? education? government welfare?) generates citizens who are both peaceful and non-religious.
@DeconversionCentral LOL… I'm not interested enough to pursue it. Besides the fact that correlation is not causation, even if religious beliefs DO cause discord, it still wouldn't prove religious beliefs aren't true.
An interesting theory I've heard for the secularism of countries like Sweden is that they have state churches that over centuries have become staid institutions, whereas the religious "free market" in America produced churches that were able to compete for people's attention.
@stallion4life I answered best the question you were provoking. Your statement about not being interested enough to pursue explains your position well.
The correlation and causation can be understood; 1.0 is direct causation and the GPI in 2009 reported that "national religiosity" has an effect of at least .5, which establishes a direct cause, and at minimum a strong correlation or secondary causes that need to be addressed, but are being ignored, because of the retaliation of the religious.
You may indeed have a point about European state churches. Europe in general was left with a dieing religion, Catholicism, why the broken subdivisions of Christianity fled persecution to the Americas, where they were able to establish themselves. Despite the secularist government established by the Founder Fathers, the countrymen were die hard Christians, and very soon after the religious distorted and misrepresented the founding of the American government to this day.
@DeconversionCentral It doesn't matter if they attempt to quantify it, it doesn't change the fact that religion's degreee of causation in these matters is unquantifiable.
It doesn't take too much honesty and integrity to understand telling people we know a god or the god, what it wants, thinks, and behaves like is wrong, While many not even obliging us with honest acknowledgements of the cruelty inflicted purposely by their subscribed deity and followers.
They are consequences for people believe in many religious ideals, which perhaps have served a purpose, but now it is a problem, too ignore this is wrong.
This is hilarious. In trying to find the source for your prison statistics, I clicked through about five links before coming to a dead link. In any case, the only available data I was able to find came from a Federal Bureau of Prisons study from 1997, in which case the percentage quoted was 0.209%, not .16 (which, BTW, would be 16 in *10*,000.)
Of course, in the most comprehensive study of religious preference ever conducted (in 1990) only about .5% of the population identified as atheists!
Dude, I freaking love you! You rock. Please make more videos, you are doing a wonderfull job. Internet is killing religion, all these clips and posts are like bullets fired in this war against superstition. We are eating the elephant, one bite at a time.
We have to stop religious morons from brainwashing defenceless children. We need 18+ age restriction on superstitious indoctrination, it has to be a law. That would kill organised superstition in one generation.
Hopefully people will discard this childish fantasy and realize that for the universe, "I don't know" or "I want to find out" is a better answer than "an invisible sky daddy who by definition doesn't exist created everything with full knowledge that we'd be dammed to hell but he still loves us"
(cont.) Ya know why? Because America is really a secular hating country that calls itself a free country by saying "all religions welcome, but non christians are considered minorities and are most likely subject to discrimination." The conflicts religion brings will only lead to the worlds downfall. Atheism doesn't hate god. It's just people who've outgrown God/Santa Claus for adults. We don't have a reason to conflict, minus the discrimination
Lol, just reading the argument below. I'm an American Atheist, and America will fall first.
I say this because the freedom of religion doesn't mean shit. As long as America is dominantly Christian, it won't matter. In America, would the people vote for an Atheist president? No. Even if their ideas could bring the US out of the problems it has (if possible) No.
"What do atheists believe in? Nothing! right?".. No, Atheists believe in EVERYTHING that has a valid & logical reason for believing! ..So that makes Us the crazy ones!? HA!
I dont trust the prison poll, and there are a few reasons why. One of my reasons, which is pretty relevant to the video, is that people just dont like atheists. So I have no doubt that many people pretend to no be atheist, just so they can be part of a larger group.
I am not only skeptical of the prison poll, but I've always been skeptical of pretty much any poll. People lie, its just human nature. We even lie when we dont know we're lying. Polls mean nothing to me.
I was honestly very surprised when I heard atheists were the least trusted group, and least wanted for a politician. Before I heard that, I was sure atheists were looked upon as ideal for politicians, (as ideal as you could hope for, at least) because they would be able to uphold church-state separation and not favor one religious group over another. An unbiased middle-man with the good of the ALL people in mind, rather than a religious agenda. But I guess that's not how religious people see it.
oh really? without it, the only thing that matters for a single human is HIMSELF(including his family). and the time, racism starts to spread. religions from all kinds make something called "brotherhood" and the weirdest thing that you atheists are saying that world gets ruined by religion. how could it fit into mind? without religion we would execute murderers, rapists, theives, etcs, and I'm pointing at the three religions(Judisim, Christianity, Islam). IDC.
@X3BOOODYX2012 Really? Cause im not religious, and i care about others. I thought religion CAUSES racism. And religious motives CAUSED capital punishment and human sacrifice. Mark my words: There has never been an act of evil committed in the name of atheism.
so you're basically saying that atheism is a belief? for now, yes it is.
but mark my words, after several generations, when atheists "rule" the world, many things in religion will be forgotten, like executing murderers, punishing rapists, and some day, we'll see a man and a woman having sex on the street in the name of "Freedom". maybe it's not harmful now. but we'll see, my friend.
@X3BOOODYX2012 Dude. Read what i said again. I never stated atheism was a belief. If anything, its a disbelief.
Hopefully you are right, hopefully atheism will rule the world. Secular nations are the most peaceful nations. Did you even watch the clip your commenting on?
the problem with you (atheists) that you think atheism is about being "peaceful". how? by being absolutely free. if they ruled it, will they do the same with convicts? same laws of tradings? if they copied laws and rules from a religion that means that religion is correct and perfect, and I'm sure 100% that they're ain't gonna take anything. they ust wanna "live" like animals.
@X3BOOODYX2012 I Do its true. I hate them. They are standing in the way of progress. How can we all be one united humanity when we divide ourselves up by which bedtime fairytale we were told when we were kids. I too was once told there was a santa claus, an easter bunny and a jesus. I let go of the first too pretty quickly, but with all the pressure of my parents it was hard to let go of jesus. As soon as i was able to reason effectively enough it became clear that its all B/S
I'm not christian, and I what do you mean by devided? with atheism we'll get more devided, everyone for himself, religion is what made culture and morals and laws.
so I'm going to ask you a question what prevents you from dating your sister as an atheist, oh wait, not your sister, your father, brother, mother. nothing, all these lines were made by religion, united on porn, devided on morals, not thanks I perfer the second choice.
@X3BOOODYX2012 That whole line of debate is a cop out. Religion and morality are not the same thing. Saying that because im an athiest i have no morals goes completely against the message of this video if youd bothered to watch it. LESS ATHIESTS ARE CRIMINALS, so dont get too far up on your high-horse. Religion is brainwashing. People should think for themselves not let institutions like the church run their life.
less atheists are criminals because atheist are already less in the quantity, you're an atheist, you don't have something prevents you from killing, family sex, steeling, raping. hech even the laws that america made are mostly from their non-sense bible.
what kind of morals do you have? you're ready to have sex with your mother because you don't have a religion that prevents you from doing it. enough lying.
@X3BOOODYX2012 The statistics that atheists commit less crime are in percentages that take quantity into account. Are you seriously trying to tell me that it is ONLY your fear of and belief in god that keeps you from murdering, raping and stealing? I am an atheist and I don't do any of those things because my reason and common sense tells me to respect my fellow man (and my mother). Your bible condones slavery, genocide and the subjugation of women. I can do without those "morals."
it's not my bible, I'm not a christian. that's first.
second, YES it does keep me away from crimes, don't deny the fact that you were raised in a religious community, if you're an atheist from the very start an you never learned about religions you wouldn't know the word respect at all. talking about meanings, if you looked up in the dictionay(ANY) English-English the word Religion means "Sticking and binding to". so you're religious, by worshipping life...
@X3BOOODYX2012 Most people were raised in a religious community. So what? I was born knowing nothing of religion, as were you. I used observation and education to make my decision, instead of being indoctrinated. My father voted liberal, that doesn't mean I have to. "Religion" is defined as the belief in a superhuman controlling partner, I don't know about your dictionary. I don't worship anything, but I appreciate life and all its wonders.
the problem is you think worshipping is just having a belief and doing some rituals. no not just that, you can worship anything you want. education? really? what do they learn you in school? not to steel, not to rob, not to murder... etc. where did they take that from? "Experiences"? experiences of what? RELIGION. you said the answer yourself.
@X3BOOODYX2012 I never said that different religions don't have some valid moral precepts. What I am saying is that you don't need religion to have morals. If that's not true, how do you account for the millions of law-abiding atheists and the crimes of the religious, such as child rape (priests), murder (nuns and priests in Uganda), use of prostitutes (Jimmy Swaggart), homosexuality (Ted Haggard) and theft (Jim Baker). And let's add the tortures and executions of non-believers, just for fun.
so you're basically saying just because those people have done bad things you're blaming the whole religious community because of some "christians"? me and you we both know that religious people are more than atheist globally, so it's not fair to compare. plus, when I say morals I mean manners and other behavors, for example, why they execute murderers? why not forgiving them like what most atheists think if aren't going to do it again OR a second chance? you tell me.
@X3BOOODYX2012 I blame people who don't think and who live there lives by an inconsistent, incorrect and morally inhumane book. But your think that religious people are all moral and that atheists are all immoral. I would answer the rest of your post, but your written English is a little confusing. By the way, which of the hundreds of religions today (or the thousands of the past) do you believe in? And guess what? They can't be all correct. (P.S. Morals and manners are two different things.)
I believe in three which are actually one. but two are outdated and the final one is perfect. I think you know what I mean. yes not all of them correct, it's just one, and only one. yes atheists can be immoral, depending on their situation, if you were (Example) raised in "JAPAN" it's already an atheist community where you can chage your "SEXUAL INTERESTS for example" to "HORSES". yes, as atheist you can get ****** by a horse or the opposite.
@X3BOOODYX2012 Japan is an atheist community? You obviously know nothing about Japan or its history. Approximately 90% of Japanese are Shinto or Buddhists. Until the end of WWII, they worshipped their Emperor as a god (some still do).
I'm a little worried about the sex life of religious people. Mr. Doobious thinks I should be having sex with my mother and you think I should be having sex with horses. It must be disappointing to you that I only have sex with my wife.
so you are religious, not an atheist, but my point wasn't about "THE MUST" of having sex with horses, I was trying to clear that there's nothing prevents them from having sex with animals because of "FREEDOM", or their own family, I was making examples, but you didn't open your mind enough to even think about it. for a second you said Japan is an atheist country, now you're negating?! I don't know much about Japan, so I quoted from you.
@X3BOOODYX2012 I never said Japan was an atheist country...you did. I know a lot about many countries and world religions, knowledge I gained from research and study, not from "faith."
I am an atheist. You seem very confused. I'll try one more time. Morals derived from common sense, logic and caring prevent atheists from doing the wrong thing, but we don't get our morals from a holy book, especially a holy book with bad morals such as the Bible or the Koran.
well, I don't know what the bible contains, it's not my book. but I know and memorized the quran, I never found something above and beyond the morals, you're just lying, and yes, I get everything from my religion that tells me to educate myself, you don't know islam at all, it encourages science more than you're atheist do. congratulations, you have been played by the media. by the way, almost all atheist NEVER rely on logic, but PURE emotions.
@X3BOOODYX2012 Islam encourages science? I suppose when it comes to finding news ways to kill, you're right. I have read the Koran. You so-called peaceful religion has 2 worlds: the House of Submissions (for believers) and the House of War (for non-believers). Your religion causes untold pain and suffering, including towards other Muslims. You kill those of other Muslim sects and those Muslims of the wrong colour. The scientific output of the Muslim world is zero.
caught ya right there, you used your emotions in this comment, you hate the one who created you, yeah you diserve to burn in hell, just have fun in your current life.
Kill? you're lying again, it says fight those who fight god, not who don't believe it him, how about the fact of sperms? or earth rotation? never read those? whatg ways to kill? look up for bin sena and bin al-haitham, all those muslim scientists benifitted the world. live your dream to the fully.
@X3BOOODYX2012 Let me try this simple logical statement. I know believers have a problem with "logic,' but give it a try. Atheists don't believe in god, so (logically) we can't hate any god. We don't hate what doesn't exist. What we do hate is the arrogant, murderous beliefs of religious fanatics who desperately want to control every person in the world with their hateful, uneducated beliefs. Got that now??????
it's not about hating gods, it's about hating who worship him(It for that matter in your nice language).
not all religions are murderous, arrogant, uneducated. science isn't against religion, never was, if some religions prevent science, then that's their problem. I have a religion that encourages science more than atheism does.
@X3BOOODYX2012 Not in any dictionary I've ever seen. "Morals" are concerned with human behaviour that can be judged right or wrong (murder). "Manners" are social rules (e..g., opening a door for someone).
By the way, "100% the same thing" is a tautology (look it up). By definition, something that is the same is always 100% the same.
@X3BOOODYX2012 OK now im positive you didnt watch the video. So why did you come here? To crap on atheists and accuse them of incest? Says alot about your morals.
Animals dont rape their mothers, and they dont have religion, are they anymore morally backwards without religion?
I watched the video, and yes animals do, they don't have something to prevent them from doing it. it's ok for them. same goes with you, I didn't ask, do you do her, I said what prevents you from doing it.
Great video, I really enjoyed it. I have read a lot of these studies, but you put them together nicely.
Quick question - what do you think of the idea that cultural disfunction/violence and religion correlate with each other, because they both correlate with and are caused by disparity of wealth?

Richy15251 1 week ago
@Richy15251 Because there is no one scientific method. It depends on the discipline. For example, astronomy is an observational science, whereas chemistry is an experimental science. There is theoretical physics (where "theory" largely equals mathematics) and experimental physics.

@PhillipChristoph Atheists aren't so much angry as finally speaking up. For centuries, atheists have been tortured and murdered. alright, ya fool, you should've give me a link or something about this "taqiyya".
what I explained to you before about the three things? it's called تقية "taqiyya", but it was similar to an other word, طاقية "HAT in English", if you don't know, there are two (or even more) doctrines of Islam, she'a, and sunna, (like a catheolic christian for example), sunna has it but restricted to the 3 below, she'a has it opened although their doctrine has alot of mistkakes.
X3BOOODYX2012 1 month ago
@X3BOOODYX2012 Wow...the word is similar to hat. Who cares? I understand there's a different use of taqiyya for Shias and Sunnis. Maybe the two sects will just have to fight it out. Oh...sorry...that's already happening. That's one more round of murders and bombings for the "religion of peace."
ghostframer 3 weeks ago
@ghostframer
really? for your information, to be a muslim(sunni or what so ever), you have to believe in allah as the only god, and mohammed(PBUH) as his messenger(prophet). most shiya(especiallly in Iran) believe in Ali(mohammed's cousin) as the last prohpet instead, infact they're worshiping him alongside allah. that's not islam, allah wants you to worship him alone, what does shia do is the opposite. shia are the ones who rape 6 year old, and torture themself, etc...
X3BOOODYX2012 3 weeks ago
@ghostframer
and for those "bombings", look up for who bombed first. even in Iraq they suspected an existing Nuke with saddam hussain, and after killing 15000 muslims, they didn't find them and they just "sorry".
but now, it appears that we're going to an other subject. "hatred of atheists".
I swear that every atheist video on YouTube was hateful as hell.
then. if you have any question, then ask, because after I answer, I'll ask you.
X3BOOODYX2012 3 weeks ago
@X3BOOODYX2012 By the way, I am fully aware of the Islamic practice of taqiyya, which allows Muslims to lie to infidels to protect the faith. That's why I don't belief anything that so-called "moderate" Muslims say. Your faith is the worst faith ever invented. It's primitive and hateful. And the proof of that is all over the world, from Denmark to Somalia. I am glad that your god only exists in your sick mind.
ghostframer 1 month ago
@ghostframer
taqiyya? you let that out, all what I know that if we put taqiyya in Arabic it would mean in English "HAT", in islam a lie is a great sin except in three situations, offical war, between a man and his wife, and for fixing friendships of other people. I know my religion more than you do. stop saying lies about it if you don't know.
X3BOOODYX2012 1 month ago

stallion4life 3 months ago
The "peaceful contries" bit comes from an atheist who correlated the results of the "Global Peace Index" and the "World Values Survey". He doesn't break down the data for us to examine, so he may have cherry-picked the countries. His correlation only considers countries, though, and not populations; for instance, the two most "peaceful" countries in the study are Iceland and New Zealand, which have miniscule populations, but which are given the same weight in his results as the United States.
stallion4life 3 months ago
@stallion4life
DeconversionCentral 3 months ago
@DeconversionCentral LOL… I'm not interested enough to pursue it. Besides the fact that correlation is not causation, even if religious beliefs DO cause discord, it still wouldn't prove religious beliefs aren't true.
An interesting theory I've heard for the secularism of countries like Sweden is that they have state churches that over centuries have become staid institutions, whereas the religious "free market" in America produced churches that were able to compete for people's attention.
stallion4life 3 months ago
@stallion4life I answered best the question you were provoking. Your statement about not being interested enough to pursue explains your position well.
The correlation and causation can be understood; 1.0 is direct causation and the GPI in 2009 reported that "national religiosity" has an effect of at least .5, which establishes a direct cause, and at minimum a strong correlation or secondary causes that need to be addressed, but are being ignored, because of the retaliation of the religious.
DeconversionCentral 2 months ago
@DeconversionCentral
DeconversionCentral 2 months ago
@DeconversionCentral It doesn't matter if they attempt to quantify it, it doesn't change the fact that religion's degreee of causation in these matters is unquantifiable.
stallion4life 2 months ago
@stallion4life
You are being lazy.

A country with mixed religions should be more violent than a monotheistic country, especially when it's got at least two competing religions.

Ramen86861 3 months ago
Lol, just reading the argument below. I'm an American Atheist, and America will fall first.
I say this because the freedom of religion doesn't mean shit. As long as America is dominantly Christian, it won't matter. In America, would the people vote for an Atheist president? No. Even if their ideas could bring the US out of the problems it has (if possible) No.

the bible is god's word, god's word is true, why is it true? because the bible says so.
need i explain further why i am an atheist?

"What do atheists believe in? Nothing! right?".. No, Atheists believe in EVERYTHING that has a valid & logical reason for believing! ..So that makes Us the crazy ones!? HA!

We are the most hated group in the world and, at the same time, the most knowledgeable and peaceful. What has this world come to?
manazoa 4 months ago
I dont trust the prison poll, and there are a few reasons why. One of my reasons, which is pretty relevant to the video, is that people just dont like atheists. So I have no doubt that many people pretend to no be atheist, just so they can be part of a larger group.
I am not only skeptical of the prison poll, but I've always been skeptical of pretty much any poll. People lie, its just human nature. We even lie when we dont know we're lying. Polls mean nothing to me.
chadd990 4 months ago

IDC.
X3BOOODYX2012 1 month ago
@X3BOOODYX2012 Really? Cause im not religious, and i care about others. I thought religion CAUSES racism. And religious motives CAUSED capital punishment and human sacrifice. Mark my words: There has never been an act of evil committed in the name of atheism.
MrDoobious 1 month ago
@MrDoobious
so you're basically saying that atheism is a belief? for now, yes it is.
but mark my words, after several generations, when atheists "rule" the world, many things in religion will be forgotten, like executing murderers, punishing rapists, and some day, we'll see a man and a woman having sex on the street in the name of "Freedom". maybe it's not harmful now. but we'll see, my friend.
X3BOOODYX2012 1 month ago
@X3BOOODYX2012 Dude. Read what i said again. I never stated atheism was a belief. If anything, its a disbelief.
Hopefully you are right, hopefully atheism will rule the world. Secular nations are the most peaceful nations. Did you even watch the clip your commenting on?
MrDoobious 1 month ago
@MrDoobious
the problem with you (atheists) that you think atheism is about being "peaceful". how? by being absolutely free. if they ruled it, will they do the same with convicts? same laws of tradings? if they copied laws and rules from a religion that means that religion is correct and perfect, and I'm sure 100% that they're ain't gonna take anything. they ust wanna "live" like animals.

@MrDoobious
X3BOOODYX2012 1 month ago
@X3BOOODYX2012 That whole line of debate is a cop out. Religion and morality are not the same thing. Saying that because im an athiest i have no morals goes completely against the message of this video if youd bothered to watch it. LESS ATHIESTS ARE CRIMINALS, so dont get too far up on your high-horse. Religion is brainwashing. People should think for themselves not let institutions like the church run their life.
MrDoobious 1 month ago
@MrDoobious
less atheists are criminals because atheist are already less in the quantity, you're an atheist, you don't have something prevents you from killing, family sex, steeling, raping. hech even the laws that america made are mostly from their non-sense bible.
what kind of morals do you have? you're ready to have sex with your mother because you don't have a religion that prevents you from doing it. enough lying.
X3BOOODYX2012 1 month ago
@X3BOOODYX2012 The statistics that atheists commit less crime are in percentages that take quantity into account. Are you seriously trying to tell me that it is ONLY your fear of and belief in god that keeps you from murdering, raping and stealing? I am an atheist and I don't do any of those things because my reason and common sense tells me to respect my fellow man (and my mother). Your bible condones slavery, genocide and the subjugation of women. I can do without those "morals."
ghostframer 1 month ago
@ghostframer
it's not my bible, I'm not a christian. that's first.
second, YES it does keep me away from crimes, don't deny the fact that you were raised in a religious community, if you're an atheist from the very start an you never learned about religions you wouldn't know the word respect at all. talking about meanings, if you looked up in the dictionay(ANY) English-English the word Religion means "Sticking and binding to". so you're religious, by worshipping life...
X3BOOODYX2012 1 month ago
@X3BOOODYX2012 Most people were raised in a religious community. So what? I was born knowing nothing of religion, as were you. I used observation and education to make my decision, instead of being indoctrinated. My father voted liberal, that doesn't mean I have to. "Religion" is defined as the belief in a superhuman controlling partner, I don't know about your dictionary. I don't worship anything, but I appreciate life and all its wonders.
ghostframer 1 month ago
@ghostframer
the problem is you think worshipping is just having a belief and doing some rituals. no not just that, you can worship anything you want. education? really? what do they learn you in school? not to steel, not to rob, not to murder... etc. where did they take that from? "Experiences"? experiences of what? RELIGION. you said the answer yourself.
X3BOOODYX2012 1 month ago
@X3BOOODYX2012 I never said that different religions don't have some valid moral precepts. What I am saying is that you don't need religion to have morals. If that's not true, how do you account for the millions of law-abiding atheists and the crimes of the religious, such as child rape (priests), murder (nuns and priests in Uganda), use of prostitutes (Jimmy Swaggart), homosexuality (Ted Haggard) and theft (Jim Baker). And let's add the tortures and executions of non-believers, just for fun.
ghostframer 1 month ago
@ghostframer
so you're basically saying just because those people have done bad things you're blaming the whole religious community because of some "christians"? me and you we both know that religious people are more than atheist globally, so it's not fair to compare. plus, when I say morals I mean manners and other behavors, for example, why they execute murderers? why not forgiving them like what most atheists think if aren't going to do it again OR a second chance? you tell me.
X3BOOODYX2012 1 month ago
@X3BOOODYX2012 I blame people who don't think and who live there lives by an inconsistent, incorrect and morally inhumane book. But your think that religious people are all moral and that atheists are all immoral. I would answer the rest of your post, but your written English is a little confusing. By the way, which of the hundreds of religions today (or the thousands of the past) do you believe in? And guess what? They can't be all correct. (P.S. Morals and manners are two different things.)
ghostframer 1 month ago
@ghostframer
X3BOOODYX2012 1 month ago
@X3BOOODYX2012 Japan is an atheist community? You obviously know nothing about Japan or its history. Approximately 90% of Japanese are Shinto or Buddhists. Until the end of WWII, they worshipped their Emperor as a god (some still do).
I'm a little worried about the sex life of religious people. Mr. Doobious thinks I should be having sex with my mother and you think I should be having sex with horses. It must be disappointing to you that I only have sex with my wife.
ghostframer 1 month ago
@ghostframer
so you are religious, not an atheist, but my point wasn't about "THE MUST" of having sex with horses, I was trying to clear that there's nothing prevents them from having sex with animals because of "FREEDOM", or their own family, I was making examples, but you didn't open your mind enough to even think about it. for a second you said Japan is an atheist country, now you're negating?! I don't know much about Japan, so I quoted from you.
X3BOOODYX2012 1 month ago
@X3BOOODYX2012 I never said Japan was an atheist country...you did. I know a lot about many countries and world religions, knowledge I gained from research and study, not from "faith."
I am an atheist. You seem very confused. I'll try one more time. Morals derived from common sense, logic and caring prevent atheists from doing the wrong thing, but we don't get our morals from a holy book, especially a holy book with bad morals such as the Bible or the Koran.
ghostframer 1 month ago
@ghostframer
well, I don't know what the bible contains, it's not my book. but I know and memorized the quran, I never found something above and beyond the morals, you're just lying, and yes, I get everything from my religion that tells me to educate myself, you don't know islam at all, it encourages science more than you're atheist do. congratulations, you have been played by the media. by the way, almost all atheist NEVER rely on logic, but PURE emotions.
X3BOOODYX2012 1 month ago
@X3BOOODYX2012 Islam encourages science? I suppose when it comes to finding news ways to kill, you're right. I have read the Koran. You so-called peaceful religion has 2 worlds: the House of Submissions (for believers) and the House of War (for non-believers). Your religion causes untold pain and suffering, including towards other Muslims. You kill those of other Muslim sects and those Muslims of the wrong colour. The scientific output of the Muslim world is zero.
ghostframer 1 month ago
@ghostframer
caught ya right there, you used your emotions in this comment, you hate the one who created you, yeah you diserve to burn in hell, just have fun in your current life.
Kill? you're lying again, it says fight those who fight god, not who don't believe it him, how about the fact of sperms? or earth rotation? never read those? whatg ways to kill? look up for bin sena and bin al-haitham, all those muslim scientists benifitted the world. live your dream to the fully.
X3BOOODYX2012 1 month ago
@X3BOOODYX2012 Let me try this simple logical statement. I know believers have a problem with "logic,' but give it a try. Atheists don't believe in god, so (logically) we can't hate any god. We don't hate what doesn't exist. What we do hate is the arrogant, murderous beliefs of religious fanatics who desperately want to control every person in the world with their hateful, uneducated beliefs. Got that now??????
ghostframer 3 weeks ago
@ghostframer
non of what you said is true.
it's not about hating gods, it's about hating who worship him(It for that matter in your nice language).
not all religions are murderous, arrogant, uneducated. science isn't against religion, never was, if some religions prevent science, then that's their problem. I have a religion that encourages science more than atheism does.

also, Morals and Manners are 100% the same thing.
X3BOOODYX2012 1 month ago
@X3BOOODYX2012 Not in any dictionary I've ever seen. "Morals" are concerned with human behaviour that can be judged right or wrong (murder). "Manners" are social rules (e..g., opening a door for someone).
By the way, "100% the same thing" is a tautology (look it up). By definition, something that is the same is always 100% the same.
ghostframer 1 month ago
@X3BOOODYX2012 OK now im positive you didnt watch the video. So why did you come here? To crap on atheists and accuse them of incest? Says alot about your morals.
Animals dont rape their mothers, and they dont have religion, are they anymore morally backwards without religion?

Great video, I really enjoyed it. I have read a lot of these studies, but you put them together nicely.
Quick question - what do you think of the idea that cultural disfunction/violence and religion correlate with each other, because they both correlate with and are caused by disparity of wealth?
Do you have any info on this phenomena?
