RPO is one of the world's greatest orchestras, but personally I find this arrangement to be pure cheese. Does anyone know whether Queen ever performed live with orchestra? I think that would have been a better application.

@missoperarocks As far as I know Queen performed with an orchestra on their video to "Who Wants to Live Forever." The video was at Tobacco Wharf at London's East End in September 1986. It featured the National Philharmonic Orchestra with forty choirboys and hundreds and hundreds of candles which remain lit throughout filming as well as Mercury wearing a tuxedo suit. It is the only Queen video to feature bassist John Deacon playing an upright bass.

How interesting, I never thought of this song to refer to Mary, since she never left him. She lived on his estates throughout his career & she was the recipient of his entire fortune. She was open to his appeal to men but I don't know too much more about her. Truly, how could you not be open to Freddy, if male or female???? He was simply the most charismatic person I've ever encountered.

This beautiful melody plays very well as classical music.... Chopin wrote exquisitely beautiful melodies, but those melodies don't make me cry, as I do every time I hear this one by Freddie Mercury....
