I just picked up the ukulele a couple weeks ago after having played guitar for years and it's really easy to learn. I think if you don't have a background in guitar it would be harder, but the chords are easier than on the guitar and the bar chords are easier to hold down (which has always been my downfall on guitar). I'd say definitely get a ukulele, it's so much fun!
