  • this is great idea.. since all the tanks are tooo narrows for my turtles & yes hitting the walls makes me grinch !!!! I love my turtles.. had all three of them the size of a dime, now they're the size of a bagel !!! hmmm thanks....

  • nice setup

  • yes they need to bask depending on where in the world you live, infact all slider species love to bask,

they need the Vit D3 to convert calcium in their food to horn and bone for their shell and over all immune system functions. Vit D3 can be given in a food supplement form, the Zoomed powder is good but Koi pond fish sticks have a high D3 content in a form that turts can use.

if kept out side i would still give a supplement of Vit D3

    )veterinary nurse(

  • do you need a lamp if you turtle is out side in the sun???

  • @herry808 no, actually they dont need to bask, thats just a bit of overdoing. got mine for 3 years in a regular fish tank and put them outside every few days in the living room, so my cat can play a bit with it xD

  • perfect tank

  • a kiddie pool...realy

  • @reptiowner1998 hey kiddie pools make great turtle ponds, i have one like it with 3 of the happiest r.e.s. i have ever seen, and my dwarf caiman loves it to. i have a ramp set up so he can get in and out when he wants and walk around and play (he loves to crawl in my lap and cuddle with me when i watch t.v.), but the turtles wont leave, they just hang out on the island when they want to bask. then they just play and chase the fishys all day. 1 crawled out once, got bored, then went home. lol

  • @Ardian91screamer all turtles have dif personalitys or is he new?

  • cool setup....

  • @g2lovwolvs when you press 8 and 9 the turtle disappears i think you meant 7 and 8

  • what temperature does the water need to be?? plz reply

  • @ChameleonKeeper11 WTF how is tht gay i looked on ur channel and ur setup is worse actually this setup is good

  • how many turtles do you have?

  • esta muy bien cuanto te costo???

  • I Love it!<3

  • Sounds warm. I am turtle.

  • Lol the one in the middle didn't move at all for a minute or so and then bam it jumps in the water within half a second

  • Boring

  • Hello

  • haha i got the same pool

  • Do they ever bite you when you go swimming?

  • @sugarplume5 well I have turtle to and I have fish in the tank with him and they get along just fine so maybe your turtle was just hungry and so he ate the fish and I have had the feeling that my turtle was going to drown but you have to keep in mind they r natural born swimmers so if you worry about him drowning then don't put as much water if possible and then every few days try adding a little water until you feel there is enough water for your turtle and see if that works that's what I did.

  • hi there. Im feeling sorry for my turtle because he lives in a small aquarium for most his life. Im thinking of letting him go where we got him because hes from the wild. His water is shallow and one time i let him go in deep water and he just sank. I feel like he will drown. I really like him but i feel like he deserves better. I don't know if he will eat wild fish or insects but he ate my fish once. Do u have any suggestions?

  • @kingbarlo great idea!

  • I am going to do this for my african side neck turtle and my baby eastern painted. It's good for those two because the sideneck is not a good swimmer and need more shallow water. It is not good for large turtles like my two 12 in. red and yellow slider. The reason is that if they fall on their backs they cannot flip themselves over. I have learned this from experience. The water needs to be deep enough that they can do that. I use a 100 gallon rubbermaid stock tank for a indoor pond.nice & deep.

  • RES are my favorite

  • My turtles are still very small, but do you reccomend using a small pool like that one for when they get older if I cant afford a tank?

  • coolest tank ive ever seen

  • what is basking dock made of???

  • wow beautiful set up!

  • everytime igo fishing there are like 10 of them on every log and they bail into the water when u get close

  • I have had this same set up for a couple years I move them outside for the summer and bring them back in when it gets cold, but I'm trying to develop a better breeding basking area... Nice set up though...

  • How painful is it when they bite you? ( the baby ones ) Sorry just wondering :]

  • *--------------*

    Nice :DDD

  • Love your set up.

  • VERY COOL!!~

  • ar these good turtles to get for a beginner . i want to buy some turtles. i have always loved them .

  • would a few 60 gallon fish pump filters give good filtration?

  • that looks kinda ghetto

  • i like your setup its cool !

  • thats actually a good idea to put it in a mini pool

  • @Nonugezcor93 creal, worms ,wax worms, fish food , shrimp pellets ,feeder fish for calcium at 4inch or bigger turtles . my painted and RES ,baby snappers eat this. they seem to love blogna also

  • how often do you clean that thing out?

  • do the turtles ever try to get out n walk around the basement? please respond! i would like to do this but i dont want them walking around getting hurt

  • careful thier nails are sharp it can pop the pool

  • I have something similar, but instead of artificial light, its outside in the sun.

My 18 yr old turtles. /watch?v=IApgWtwZB6E

  • awsome setup im going to be doing this.... is it ideal to do this outside and have no lamps just the sun?

  • @jdandmmzrock Yeap,in fact it is much btr to have natural sunlight

  • what do water turtles eat?, can they eat fish food?

  • How is the water heated?

  • where would u put somethin like this.. lol

  • its a nice set up but it needs to be bigger a lot bigger there water needs to be really deep

  • waste of time...

  • is it me or did i see a fish in there?

  • that is awesome....

  • omg this is a really good idea! Ive been researching res and they seem really expensive! but this is an awesome set up. im going to do this!

  • where did you get the basking area, and how did you set up the basking lights?

  • do you know at witch age they become adults and need a bigger aquarium

  • @nincomga they become adults at 5 or 6 years of age, I am trying to find out there breeding procedures. I wonder if they eat fish food?

  • I bet he haves to do a water change 1 every 5 months

  • is that a plecostomus?

I love this idea.. my mom would never let me do it tho. i just want to know if plecos can live with my RES's. I think i might build one of these and say screw it because forgiveness is easier to get than permission

  • its hard to change the water right?

  • those are some lucky sons of guns :)

  • My turtles are like 4~6 months old.

  • everyone should know:"CAGE/ENCLOSURE SIZE DOESNT EFFECT SPEED OR SIZE OF GROWTH OF TURTLES OR ANY CREATURE ITS A MYTH..."

  • love the tank but its soo.... ghettto... lmao

  • exelent...i was thinking of doing the same thing. my ONLY issue is filters...what kind so you use?

  • u should buy a tank for them

  • hope u know they can grow up to a foot and u need 10 gallons of water for one inch of turtle and for red eared sliders they are pond turtles and indoors over 100 150 gallons for 2 u wil hope u have the money to keep em they are not cheap turtles they get really really big u need a way big 150 gallon tank just look it up on how big they ccan get ihave raised them for 30 years

  • @wonderwondswoman yep,,and IM fully prepared for it,,Iv'e raised a number of different exotic animals, exotic meaning domestic not illegal lol,,but these are the first turtles I have ever had,,I have one question, what foods do you prefer to feed them when they are young mine are about 2 inches in length ,they like the pellets&shrimp, but is there anything else I'm missing, maybe dark green leafy vegetables??

  • its kind of messed up they got them everywhere in china town just sitting out in the cold in these little ass ridiculous hermit crab holding cells lol I had to save at least two of them now they are happy and thriving,,BUT I can tell you right now dont get them if your low on cash because the set up for them can get REALLY exspensive

  • @tarenceeb thats where i got mine in china town....I feel like i saved it from death

  • Nice setup. I don't see people using kiddie pools for aquariums often, but why not? It looks good and is practical.

  • @11wormbig if you dont have kids lol,,i have two in a 20 gallon tank ,,that is a nice set up though

  • cool enclusure man i like it great idea check out my vids and subscribe

  • what kind of heater and filter do you use for it?

  • ca u please make a tutorial on ho u set up the tutle pool PLEEASE! :D

  • thats really cool i think i do that intsead of buying a tank it looks great

  • I WOULD LOL SO HARD IF THE TURTLE RIPED A HOLE IN THE SIDE AND THE WATER WENT EVERY WHERE xD..........AMAZING SETUP....I LIKE YOUR BASKING AREA IT REALLY COOL. AMAZING TURTLES :)

  • Very cool. My turtle's kept in a medium sized aquarium, although we always let her out to wander around the house. She looks to be about the size of yours.

Did you know that RES get along quite well with cats?

  • Best use of a children's pool ever.

  • if your turtles are large, it is possible the claw holes in the rubber-making ..

  • what temprature do they live in?

  • do they eat cabage?

  • Very smart, i'll try to do thats too.

  • so wat happens wen it pops

  • im thinking about getting a pet turtle, what kind would you recommend a land turtle or an aquatic turtle

  • only 7 years old, and that big!! damn, mine must be atleast 25!!!

  • wow nice setup i might do that

  • u r so ghetto

  • fuk you penis teeth

  • Creative idea!

    You're setup is really neat!

    How old are you're turtle's?

  • @MertleTheTurtle1 when this was shot they were about 7 years old now they are 10ish

  • The sliders reach full size regardless of the size of their environment

  • nice set up i wanna do somthing like this with my red ear sliding turtle

  • what do you use in ur pool to heat the water? and how do you have the pump?

  • @TheTegugurl at this time i dont use a pump i just have gravle on the bed and use several fish tank air pumps to keep the water from becoming stagnent and at the same time pretty clean looking

  • @KingBarlow you dont use a filter?

  • did u just let it bite you and did it hurt?

  • @redninja952 no but i do have a vid of one biting me

  • @redninja952 i have a 7 year old red ear lsider and i would avoid getting bit

they grab any object, including your finger and grasp and pull it inside their shell

could lose the tip of your finger. i mean they just dont go bitetting thins they will bite if you place any object in their face while teasing them.

  • lol he's like "maybe if i sit here long enough he'll go away......... geez is he filming my ass? (kerplunk)"

  • Awesome set-up, but how on earth do you clean it? I'm always having to tackle that and my turtle's in a tank.

  • uhhh turtle will grow and grow no matter what size tank you keep them in but good idea!

  • i have 5 painted turtles in a pool like yours and what do u use as a filter or pump

  • @hein127 i just use fish tank air pumps to keep the water from going stagnent thats it

  • what if u dont have a uvb

  • where did you get the Kiddie pool from and is there a Filter for it?

  • Cool idea. I really like the island and the fact that you used a little pool. :)

  • I swear your not surposed 2 use over head lamps nd just stick to a tanks with a light

  • really cool set up! i have 6 russian tortoises in a dry pool just like this one. i really like the way you have the lamps suspended, and the little island in the middle.

  • @SheepGo2Hell2 daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang i love me some tortoises

  • lol a kiddy pool, but it does the trick!

  • Dude very nice!

  • Thats actually pretty cool. Good job!

  • sick tank

  • wow

  • omg that is such a sick tank! that must be relly hard to clean

  • sick tank hahah i love it

  • ghetto setup

  • how do you clean that and how often?

i find it impossible to clean mine, and its pretty small

  • 1:09

    ( :

  • wow awesome tank!

    i bet they love it.

    what kind of filter??

and how often do you have to actually clean that thing?

  • wow how do u clean that

  • What kind of filter are you using to keep the pond clean?

  • Say me idot for what? Neh call you anything wat.. Kan ni na bu chao jibai..

  • You singaporean?

  • freakinq sweet tank set up !! wow amazinq!

  • nice job on the set up! how do you hang the basking lamps though? what are they connected to? i'm lookin for a basking lamp but none really can stretch over my tank. do you know where i can get a clamp lamp?

  • yes i hang the lamps. from a nail i have attachet 2 zip ties to the top of a cardboard tube reinforced at the edges w/duct tape then i tie the cords to the zip ties and run them through the tube i then clamp each light to the bottom of the tube

  • @vivz753 try using a string and hang it off of that

  • I love this setup! Check out my vids of my eastern painted turtle humphrey and sub if you like :)

  • If you did something similar in a tank, you could put it on a shelf and it would probably be the best turtle tank evar

  • In Ri Red ear Sliders are illgeal to sell beecause it can carry saminela

  • this is a bad rap that turtles get because PEOPLE DONT WASH THEIR HANDS AFTER HANDLING THEM! be careful and there is nothing to worry about

  • @rubikscube162 spelling correctly is illegal in Pawtucket.......

  • @JustinC7920 they are just rocks i collected from creeks and a large plastic flower pot w/sand

  • Have you guys heard of shell pyramiding? Well I think my turtle might be developing it. It eats a lot, especially during the Summer. I feed it pellets, sometimes goldfish, sometimes shrimp. Should I feed it less of those or choose something else to feed it?

I don't want its shell to pyramid too much.

  • @MetalBassjunkie420 im not gonna lie hot dogs either that or bologna. oscar meyar is the best and the turtles love it. just wash it and feed them a goldfish sized chunck. its hi protien and is much cheaper than any pellet plan

  • @MetalBassjunkie420 a guy told me dont worry if he doesnt eat for a day......yes slow down the food...about as much as the size of his head is good. all those are good foods fer him or her. another guy told me sliders beg like dogs.

  • how do you filter it?

  • @techdeckaction like 13 $ at hardware store

  • this is a wonderful set-up! your turts must be happy! this video was posted 2yrs ago though, are they still in the kiddie pool?

  • @ilovecheesecakes yes im working on the updated vid rite now

  • I was thinking about doing something like that when my red slider gets bigger. He's only a juvenile right now, but I think he'd really like something like that. :) I'll have to ask you some questions when I start to put it together. Thanks for the inspiration and great job with that environment, your turtles seem to really enjoy it.

  • @ZeroGal5 i assure u they love the new one. im putting together a video now and they are basking and diving like this all the time

  • @3musks52 how the fuck do you work that one out

  • @3musks52 hahalarious and i suppuse your some kind of expert. well for your info my turs happend to be in the best habitat on youtube try to find a better one with bigger turtles

  • i agree it i s nice i think bare tanks are not stimulating enough for wild animals but my question i s is the water deep enough ?

  • A very cute idea n-n

  • dude u need an actual tank.they can swallow thos dirt graines and rocks and can pose a threat to them

  • thats no true dude look at the turtles in the wild they dont soloow pebbles there not retarted

  • thanks i didnt know you were an expert
