Is this guy really talking about a Labor movement? OMFG Libtarts, if the Koch brothers invest, and make more companies. Guess What? YOU FUCKING BENEFIT FROM IT!!! Just keep demonizing the successful ones and all that will be left is failures. An employee has no right to tell their boss on how much they should be paid, that employee should just be happy to even have the fucking job, if you dont like it then GO START YOUR OWN FUCKING COMPANY, That is what bank loans are for. DUMBASS's!!!!!
@bigblock189 It's scary how retarded Americans have become. We watch you idiots argue over an illusionary partisan political system that's diseasing your country... billionaires like the Koch brothers are buying up all of your politicians one by one.. and your political power as a people is diminishing right before your eyes... and what do Americans do when they're public representatives are being bought for special interest? They claim that it benefits the people... you're politically retarded.
@bigblock189 we all need right we all need jobs but they want to stop colective bargining a min wage job is a job but it is still poverty and with no rights means they do what ever they want to you
He said the only opponents to business. So the guy is admitting that unions are the enemy of the business man. These leach bums are all about latching onto company's and sucking the life out of them while demanding higher pay and benefits for the same of less work. Bums, they need to move somewhere else.
Don't fundamentally change the country that I'm in, go ahead and let the states do what they are meant to do. Experiment and find what's best. The People can vote with their feet!
We stand on the edge of the biggest industrial confrontation in over 80 years. On one side stand the workers we rely on to deliver our public services and on the other side stands the raw fiscal-fascism of this ConDem government and their cheerleaders amongst the business and banking community who created this crisis in the first place.
Sure, the Koch brothers donated to Scott Walker's campaign, but seriously show me concrete evidence that Walker gave into the Koch brothers by making collective bargaining rights an issue. It was also not a campaign promise of Walker's. So what?!? For that argument to hold water, Walker would have had to promise EVERYTHING during his campaign. Tell me the last time that this happened. It's NEVER happened. Campaign promises are not the only part of a politician's agenda!
Are you aware that unions, in the public sector that is, are the greatest cause of lay offs currently in America? They would rather have half their members unemployed than accept a penny less in the officials paycheck. I have worked with two unions in my life, believe me, they no longer serve the working man. They are the epitome of American greed.
The Koch Brothers, Scott Walker, et al. Flagrantly wiggle the sausages & hot dogs, Then bite em. Like that one Chicago reporter did in that Oktoberfest celebration.
Yawn. Sounds like some people are on the payroll the Koch bros in the comments.
Dems are no prize, but the GOP are just pathetic in recent years. I only vote when need to keep idiots like Sarah Palin out of the office. Dem or GOP it doesn't matter, both are sending us down a path of destruction, the only issue is slower or faster.
The ONLY way to bring jobs back to America is to lower the minimum wage to $2/hr.
This is the only way we can compete with China. Paul Ryan and my fellow republicans need to act on this now. Employers also should not have to carry the burdern of paying for health care either. Go get em Paul!
unions are the only voice workers have. who ever is a worker and is against unions is fucked stupid.... and brainwased by capitalist rhetoric .. but mostly fucked stupid.
@qwerty0900 I am in a union, and they suck. All they care about is getting their dues. They do not give a rats ass about the workers. They operate exactly like big business.
The president of the AFSMCE (The union the represents the public union in Wisconsin) pulled in a salary of approx $480,000.00 (dept.of labor union report) in 2010. That does not include benefits. Isn't it kind of funny that some socialist thug, grabs so many taxpayer dollars, and misrepresents that he understands the plight of the common worker. What don't you people understand about "WE ARE BROKE" If the Unions were concerned about it's members, perhaps they should quit stealing thier money.
@chemokman He represents 1.8 million people and holds a high office. 480,000 is NOTHING compared to Koch's 21.5 billion and paying nearly the same tax rates and complaining about the country. The people in Wisconsin apart of Unions generally make less money than the private sector to make up for the benefits they receive, and Unions are important factors in keeping corporations/states from taking advantage of people.
United Wisconsin, an online campaign now working to develop on-the-ground networks to collect signatures to trigger a recall election for the governor, includes both Walker and Kleefisch in its website call for "pledges" to sign on when petitions legally could begin circulating late this year.
sara palin 2012-2014 1/2? quit once. will quit again. too much risk for me. think she still gets her international policy advice from todd's snow- machining buds? or is it from pillow talk with shuckaby?
The liberial pie Mix: Sara Palin worthless The filthy rich Koch Brothers demons Rich class poor class Koch Walker evi, Walker corrupt (optional) Kochs kill all unions
Whip up with generalizations homogenized to the lowest common denominator
Feed to the Sheeple
Could sombody check Cenk for a birth certificate....
An Alaska lawmaker has dropped his bill to restrict collective bargaining rights for many public workers. Republican Rep. Carl Gatto made the announcement late Thursday after an hours-long floor debate over oil taxes.
Gatto's bill never gained traction in the state Legislature. While he said it was aimed at keeping Alaska on sound financial footing, and similar to a bill recently passed in Wisconsin, critics saw it as an unwarranted attack on unions.
Hold Up one Second!!! Just beacuse this governor has the same name as me, he is just trying to get publicity based off of me!! FUCK HIM and FUCK ALL THESE DEMOCRAT FAGS who protest me!!! I'm richer than any of ya'll and im a straight bad ass if anyone wanna protest me yall know where to find me. 336 for lyfe. And btw, wis is practically canada, so ya'll are 2 timing bitches. Get real jobs you bums and quit trying to live off my fame you unamerican fake canadians. yall aint citizens nowhere.
Watch a Pre-January 8th copy of Inception. Listen closely when the actors say imagine, reality, safe, and envelope, or point pistols. You'll hear the words, Loughner, offin' her, part of the word Giffords, and much more. Some even say they hear, do it.
Newsflash: Koch Brother behind Young Turks homosexuality - see youtube on the blowjob festival Young Turds "holiday party" google it. Those darn Koch boys...!
The koch brothers are engineers who thru research beleive voluntary exchange, free markets and less government allocating peoples capital raise people standards of living.
Its odd how they are demonized because they produce things we use. Lawyers dont polllute, bankers dont pollute but they also dont give us a damn thing we need to survive in a world where people have incentive.
Logical result oriented Engineers vs Lawyers who win based on other people judging them which isnt math its social.
"Apparently that language was either misunderstood or ignored, but what I said was the further implementation of (the law) was enjoined," Dane County Circuit Judge Maryann Sumi said during a hearing. "That is what I now want to make crystal clear."
Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker apparently believes he is above the law: He defied a court ruling and, late on Friday, published the bill killing collective bargaining rights for public employees. Earlier this month, a Wisconsin judge issued the order that delays implementation of the bill. A court hearing set for tomorrow will decide the issue.
@noflizone Public unions should NEVER have been allowed to begin with!
Government collective bargaining means voters do not have the final say on public policy.
Union contracts make it next to impossible to reward excellent teachers or fire failing ones. Union contracts give government employees gold-plated benefits – at the cost of higher taxes and less spending on other priorities. The alternative to Walker's budget was kicking 200,000 children off Medicaid.
Hey this guy realy has the cock up his ass LOL HEY FUCK NUTS...SHE WAS SPEAKINGN THERE LAUNGUGE,YOU WOULD NOT UNDER STAND THAT YOU ARE TO BUISY SPINNING YOUR WEELS, FUCK YOU LOOSER, YOUR WIFE SUCKS COCK,BUT NOT YOURS, SHE SUCKS MINE AND THINKS OF MINE,WALKER IS A JOKE ONLY americans buy,he sucks big dick
@TheImpeacher Who's to say he's a muslim? Christians are the easiest to insult. They're power hungry, unethical retards who think they know everything. They feed Western Civilization with bull shit lies and attempt to make them hate Eastern cultures. Anything else you would like me to say? (:
Hopefully there's a couple of good old fashioned union goons out there who are thinking about pulling a Jimmy Hoffa on the Koch brothers. Maybe tie 'em to an engine block and drop 'em in the middle of the ocean.
Busing speakers and busing protestors are different things. I can't believe supporters of unions are complaining about buses. Koch industries bought more efficient equipment, do you really expect them not to lay people off? How can you expect someone to not do the best thing for their company? Industries aren't job charities. It's not like they can just hand out jobs for free. I have to stop watching tyt, his arguments make no sense.
This guy is as cynical and dumb as they come. Such a great person to get your news from. Did anyone ever think of maybe who this guy and his company is backing? It couldn't possibly be the average worker...Wake up..
Republicans, look, we're on YouTube, so it is obvious that we all have internet access for fact checking information that you put out...so why do you insist on making shit up, or using stories five years ago as if they are current events? Stop being dipshits...don't want to call anyone such a name...but seriuosly, what should I call someone debating in such ways: it is pathetic, and a poor representation to your party.
@PartyForEquality Why do you assume I am a Republican? I am an independent and vote for who I think is the best person. I grew up in a small town in MO, where almost everyone was a Democrat and a Baptist. I voted for JFK. I drove 100 miles to go see Bill Clinton in Independence, MO. When I heard his speech of, I knew he was 'sleazy'. I am old and wise enough to NOT get swept-up in Obamania and hate what he, Pelosi and Reid have done to this great country. More....
@valtom6 ...so you admit that Obama was definitely better than what McCain was offering? I assume Republican, because you sound like a Republican with being anti-union. As for whether I am a Democrat...it's because I've done my homework (some first hand while being tortured) to know that the Republicans are a dangerous group of politicians...and I haven't seen on to where I would even think of voting that direction. Best way to stop a Republican in their tracks is to ask them who do they support
@PartyForEquality How did you ever conclude that I felt Obama was better than McCain? I would NOT have voted for Obama under any situation. He is a man/child with no background, experience or credentials. As Hillary Clinton said during the campaign, "all he has even done is read one moving speech at the 2004 Democrat Convention". And as Joe Biden said, "The Presidency is no place for on-the-job-training!"
@valtom6 ...you're an independent who felt that Sarah Palin should be vice president? You said you were an independent, just seeing if you had common sense, or if you were a Republican embarrassed to call himself/herself a republican. If you actually votes for McCain's contradictions, and Sarah Palin's ignorant ass to be in office...you're likely a Republican, or horribly cut off from sound reasoning.
@PartyForEquality Continued, final comment to the "liberal twit". I would take Sarah Palin any day over that gaffe machine Joe Biden, the career political, who is now worth $50 million. I can't stand him, community organizer, ACORN lawyer Obummer, the Czars, Reid, Pelosi, Schumer, Frank and the other 55+ million east/west coast liberals, inner city minorities, union thugs, hollyweird and other assorted fools like you who voted in the big spending libs who are ruining my country! The end.
@valtom6 You would take Sarah Palin over Joe, because Joe has made a couple gaffs. The guy is honest as shit is his problem...they asked him what would he suggest to his family when the swine flue was hitting America, and he said he would tell them to stay off the airplanes....that is poor politics, but honest leadership. Sarah couldn't finish as governor for Alaska...she is a quitter, not only that but she believes Sputnik sunk the Soviet Union, Africa is a country, Russia can be seen fro AK.
@valtom6 ...So you were against Bush Sr. when he started the idea of Czars? So you're against McCain who is worth millions upon millions? You're against McCain when he was supporting ACORN (which is fine because they did nothing wrong)? So who do you support in the Republican Party? You're supposed to be an independent, yet you seem to only bash Liberals...which means you're full of it. I get a kick out of people like you...What have the Republicans done in office in the past 3-4 years?
@valtom6 LOL! You would take Sarah Palin? Yeah, that's why even the Republicans insulted her. I guess even Republicans have a bigger brain than you. XD
@valtom6 ...as for McCain the man has entered his senile years. Before he started his campaign, I thought that we were choosing between a moderate Republican and a Democrat...turns out McCain was not only fighting against Obama, but his own voting history and past quotes. It is very difficult to find a policy which he didn't flip-flop on....DADT would have never been repealed under McCain as well, because he is an out-of-touch dinosaur.
@PartyForEquality Okay, I have tried to carry on a decent dialogue with you, but now I have had it!!! You are really nothing but a name-calling, disrespectful liberal twit. John McCain is an American hero who spent 8 years in a Vietnam prison defending self-absorbed fools like you. Conservatives run candidates who have some values, believe in the constitution and love America. Liberals run just to win at any cost. Are you better off now than two years ago? I don't think so.
@valtom6 ...hahaha, no they do not. John McCain also cheated on his crippled wife with anything that moved when he got back from Vietnam, and finally got married before he divorced the lady. He showed ZERO character during the campaign and went against everything he stood for. If values mean that we deprive our troops of their freedom (something McCain should understand), while bashing Muslims, then I am proud to be a person without values.
@valtom6 ...stop throwing a hissy fit. What do you wish to be called when you obviously have your head up your ass? Hahaha, conservatives with values...first off, they aren't even conservative. All they do is cut taxes for their friends, and deregulate the piss out of corporations. Tell me of a Republican President who has balanced the budget??? Chirp, Chirp....Reagan, Bush and Bush took it from less than a trillion dollars to over ten trillion...yet we're in the biggest recession EVER
....Could it be that "trickle down economics" does not work? Reagan was accused multiple times of terrorism...even paying reperations on one of them. Bush Jr. can't even go to Switzerland, because of fears of being tried as a war criminal. Funny how your people with values do the most disgusting things...and no, a blowjob does not compare with starting wars/supporting militias which has led to hundreds of thousands of innocent deaths...look up the Contras if you don't believe me.
@faveology ...with that Republicans are towering over democrats in the sexual scandels as well. So even at Republicans' claimed values they are failing...
@faveology ...true. Well, the propaganda says that teacher unions are now the reason for our growing deficit...the same peeps seem to be aok with corporations like GE making 14.2 billion is profit, while also getting 3 billion in tax benefits...it's amazing to me how they're cool with the rich getting everything while they and everyone else gets less....it's a sick joke that I haven't been able to grasp yet.
@valtom6 You're right. Conservatives also believe that muslims bombed the twin towers. They also believe that we should kill all muslims. Your conservatives are hypocrites. You lack an education, so you would not know this. Oh! Your conservatives also believe that college students shouldn't vote. They also want to destroy the unions. Morals? No, your conservatives also practically enslave Chinese workers. Your conservatives are greedy liars. :)
@valtom6 You're right, because George Bush was just so much better. LOL. You act as if age or experience helps in the matter. In reality, it doesn't help worth the shit. It depends on what you support/believe. You could have twenty years of government experience, but you could still be an idiot when it comes to politics. Besides, Obama won, didn't he? So his "one speech" was enough to crush McCain. :)
@PartyForEquality As regards 'fact checking' -- all of the points I presented about the CSRA came from that bill. JFK, by Executive Order, unfortunately gave the USPS an exception to the CSRA rules because of political pressure to get more Democrat voters. That was the start of the USPS downfall. They lost $12 billion from 2007- 2009 and the union-backed generous employee benefits along with collective bargaining contracts are a big part of the problem.
@valtom6 In spite of your warped view of people who love this country (Tea Party, etc.) surely you can see that The Chosen One, Reid and Pelosi's views are NOT in agreement with mainstream Americans. Hence, the Nov. 2010 elections results which gave Republicans the largest gains at all levels - Federal, State and local -- since the 1920's. In other words, the adults regained control. Now, if activist judges, union thugs and a corrupt Attorney General will just let the system work!?
@valtom6 LOL!!!! Tea Party love this country? They want to take away the right to bare arms and legalize MJ. "The adults regained control." Do you mean the greedy fuck faces? CEO's are so dumb that they don't even know who Henry Ford is/was. LOL. Why do you think America bloomed during most the 1950s? Everyone had a job that paid well, so they could afford to buy stuff. Guess what? The corporations were still filthy rich!
@PartyForEquality Also, if a story is five years old but still true, what is the problem? You pointed to the 1978 CSRA! The Constitution is over 220 years old and it is still the supreme law of the USA, although The Chosen One says "the U.S. has suffered from a fundamentally flawed Constitution that does not mandate or allow for redistribution of wealth". He reveals he has NO cultural ties to America. What a guy!
@valtom6 ...you didn't tell a story you used a quote as if it related to today's issues. If you read up more on the story, you would see why I was laughing...but hey mash any group of words together, it's still going to be shit...because this union stuff that has taken place is corruption at the expense of the workers, no matter which CEO's quotes you use.
@valtom6 ...I love how you Republicans (you are a Republican) scream out against redistribution of wealth...yet it was Reagan who broke our system with it. Now, if someone tries to right Reagan's bullshit "trickle down economics" they're considered a socialist. So it's okay to be a fascist, but not a socialist??? I find this back and forth to be very classic, so continue. What's next, are you going to start using bumper-sticker slogans that claim Obama is not American? Hahaha
@PartyForEquality I think you should open you eyes... both the mayor parties have shit people in it. But that doesnt mean that all republicans are bad and all democrats aren't good.
@Terje1337 ....we might have some shit democrats...but the Republican party is bogged down with shit. What have they done that has gone to benefit our country? Name a bill that the Republicans have fought for which has benefited out country's lower classes...anything? How about this, who do you support in your party who shows quality leadership?
i have done many things in my 64 years, grasshopper: worked for sara, wore vests and jumped out of perfectly good aircraft. don't pretend to know me or my motives.
sara palin 2012-2014 1/2? quit once. will quit again. too much risk for me.
@valtom6 The standards of conduct provisions of the Civil Service Reform Act of 1978 (CSRA), among other statutes, guarantee certain rights to Federal employees who exercise their statutory right to become a member of a union representing Federal employees.--in other words, you're full of shit.
@PartyForEquality There you go again with such enlightened and uplifting words. You have such a command of the English language. Beth Moten, legislative and political director for the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) which represents 600,000 federal government workers recently told NBC's Meet the Press that "most federal employees don't have collective bargaining rights over pay and benefits. Their pay and benefits set by Congress". More to follow....
@PartyForEquality Sure, we live in America, anyone can join a union, but under Jimmy Carter's Civil Service Reform Act of 1978: ++Federal employees are denied by statute the right to strike. ++It is an unfair labor practice for a labor organization to picket a federal agency in a labor-management dispute if such picketing interferes with an agency's operations (Reagan fired the Air Traffic Controllers). More next post....
@PartyForEquality (con't from earlier)++The scope of mandatory collective bargaining for federal employees is limited to personnel employment practices only. Basic working conditions such as wages, hours of work, and employee benefits are instead subject to statutory provisions.
++Union and agency contract provisions as well as all other forms of compulsory union support are prohibited in the federal civil service.
@PartyForEquality If all of these limitations sound like Federal employees have collective bargaining and can complain like the Wisconsin public employees, you don't understand. Why do you think even CNN, ABC, NBC and the other liberal news media repeat and repeat that "Federal employees DON'T have collective bargaining?" Do you live under a rock?
@valtom6 ..the U.S. Postal Service, which has nearly 600,000 career employees, most (but not all) of whom have collective bargaining rights for pay and benefits. Also, Air traffic controllers can bargain over wages under a 1996 law that granted full bargaining rights to a number of federal workers covered under the Federal Aviation Administration...the other Federal Employees are still a part of unions, and sheltered under budgets that stay above inflation, while also receiving amazing benefits.
@valtom6 ...it truly doesn't matter. Walker has kicked the beehive on this issue, and these bargaining rights will likely be put back in place after the guy is recalled next year...his legislation is still going through the courts, and unless they are some whacked out republican judge...it will most likely be overturned.
These figures are from OpenSecrets , As an Independent, I prefer an indep source for my info if possible. OpenSecrets is just that, an independent, non partisan data gathering and information source. They take government statistics and put them in easy to read charts. "All the numbers on this page are for the 2008 election cycle and based on Federal Election Commission data released electronically on Monday, July 13, 2009."
ohhhh, those poor Koch brothers. How dare the Unions stand in thier way. Lets sign a bill where we as American Citizens can drop all of our civil rights and let the Koch brothers reign supreme
@boston312 Did you feel that way when Obama was the top recipient of campaign contributions from BP? You know, the ones that spilled all the oil in the Gulf. Were you concerned that they would not get stuck with making it right for the people of the Gulf, because many, after all this time, Still havent been paid, or only paid a portion of their claim. I guess it depends on whose Ox is getting goared.
Mr. TYT man, you just love to brew trouble and sit back and watch, don't you? There is a special place in hell for you - also, wait until you are older. I can imagine some sort of instant karma for you.
why would anyone cut costs in such a great economy? koch industries has to be the only employer who let people guy...no? so silly...who bused in the protestors from out of the state? ah, who cares... how about all the banks and corporations that got and are to get bailout funds making bank, while the public pensions and tax payer in general is on the hook....
why would anyone cut costs in such a great economy? koch industries has to be the only employer who let people guy...no? so silly...who bused in the protestors from out of the state? ah, who cares...
Yes, democrats seek to protect working families...Without such a balance, Republicans would have us nut deep in fasicism. Am I lying? Where have Republicans ever protected worker's rights??? Tell me this, name a country that has remained successful without a middle class...ours has been deteriorating since Reagan's ignorant ass. Reagan, the coke dealing accused terrorist who gave arms to Iran, using that money to fund his Contra wars. Many Corporations get billions in tax cuts...EXON 4 billion
@valtom6 ...unions are not funded through a single bit of tax...how much of your taxes go to pay for teachers? Chirp, Chirp? Is it safe to say you're now talking from your ass. How about my taxes going to bail out corporations when they're deemed to big to fail? How about my taxes going to oil companies in way of subsidies? How about my taxes going to pay for Haliberton, so they can profit off of Iraq/Afgahnistan? It's cool if our taxes go to corporations, but not to teachers...?
@PartyForEquality I haven't made any comments on this site for weeks and now, all of a sudden, your childish, four letter words and misspelled comments appear? You must not pay taxes or you would know every town/city/municipality levees taxes for education. In Dallas, about 10% of my property tax bill went to schools. In NM it is somewhat lower. How do you think teachers are paid? More to follow.....
@PartyForEquality Okay, so now you are aware that taxpayers pay teachers salaries. Then, in certain states, teachers are forced to pay union dues (e.g., Wisconsin). So, indirectly, taxpayers pay for public unions. Then the union thug bosses elect Democrats ($400 million to Obama), Then those Democrats raise my taxes to 'payback' the unions and/or bailout GM, a union shop. Taxpayers and those evil corporations pay for everything in society. Wise up.
@valtom6 ...so how much do your taxes go up to pay for teachers? Don't give me the same crap you said in the comment before...give me some actual figures from something legit...Again, how much do corporations pay into Republican campaigns? I guarantee you that it is more than what unions can pony up. 400 million? Where'd you get that figure from....a little rounded off. Walker is keeping the unions that covered him unscathed...so don't throw out as a Democratic thing.
@PartyForEquality You are buying into this liberal myth that Republicans are rich. In fact, it is totally the opposite. In 2008, 17 of the top 25 contributors to 527 advocacy groups funded liberal/Democratic causes, including liberal billionaires George Soros, and Peter Lewis. Donors who gave a million dollars or more gave $36 million to the Democrats and only $3 million to Republicans, a 12:1 ratio.
@PartyForEquality" unions are not funded through a single bit of tax".
In the case of GM (The only case on record where tax losses were allowed to transfer to a company who only purchased the assets, Section 363, instead of Chapter 11) . The New GM's tax benifits enriched the UAW(recieved 17% of NEW GM) and the Governments of Canada and Ontario(10%), costing the US Treasury a whopping $22.6 Billion after the initial IPO for the New GM. How do you suppose the UAW will show their gratitude...?
@AnimeOfTheState .compare that with AIG and many of the others in the financial sector who received bailouts...Bush pumping out 670 billion dollars...how will they show their gratitude? The workers for GM and taken very deep pay cuts, and GM is repaying them with bonuses based on profit...the unions worked it out to where if the company does amazingly well, the workers who have sacrificed will receive some compensation. It this what you were refering to? Have AIG peeps shows the same sacrifices?
@PartyForEquality Your arguement is absurd. First, Christopher Dodd(Dem) was the largest recipient of AIG campaing contributions in 2008, OBAMA was second. Only about 350 Billion of the 700Billion bailout was spent before Obama took office and could direct it. Also DODD wrote the amendment to it that enabled AIG executives to get 165 million in bonuses.
AS I have said, I and virtually every conservative was opposed to the bailouts. It was corporate socialism.
@AnimeOfTheState .as for the auto-bailouts, our nation is looking to receive compensation...interest on top of the loans. Bush's TARP program hasn't guranteed any of this. If you want to continue with "hook-ups" look at the shadey deal Cheney did with many of the natural gas companies. These companies do not have to abide to any of the rules in the Clean Air Act/Water Act; now peeps can light their water on fire when it comes out of the tap. How do you think these gas companies will contribute.
@PartyForEquality BTW, The Dems controlled the House and Senate. THEY PASSED IT. Bush proposed it, but CONGRESS had to approve it, so stop the obfuscating.
As for the auto industry, GM will NEVER pay it all back. That is why they paid the 8.18 Billion LOAN portion back out of the other 51 Billion, because that is all they are responsible for. After the Gov sold a portion of it's stock, the price would have to nearly tripple for them to break even on the remaining shares they own.
@AnimeOfTheState ...I also find it funny that you complain about 26 billion dollars going to save hundreds of thousands of jobs, while the Republicans just pushed through their demands of millionaires and up getting tax relief which comes out to 60 billion annually. Republicans held everyone else's tax relief hostage until their rich friends got their "relief"...poor billionaires. Spoiler Alerty-not a single economist says that giving to our rich will help our economy grow.
"Delphi also wants relief from job and income security agreements with the union that require Delphi to pay an estimated 4,000 workers WHO REMAIN IDLE. In the second quarter, those costs totaled more than $100 million.
"We can no longer afford to continue to pay all-in wage and benefit costs of approximately $130,000 per year per U.S. hourly worker," Delphi Chairman and CEO Robert S. "Steve" Miller said Monday. "
@AnimeOfTheState ....while demanding concessions from workers, Delphi executives will share $98 million in bonuses this year and paid for lavish cruises for executives. The bonuses reinforce the fact that Delphi is using the bankruptcy process to impose deep wage and benefit cuts the workers had already rejected during contract talks, union leaders say.
@AnimeOfTheState ....the question is...why are you giving me quotes from 2005??? "We can no longer afford to continue to pay all-in wage and benefit costs of approximately $130,000 per year per U.S. hourly worker," Delphi Chairman and CEO Robert S. "Steve" Miller said Monday. Article written, August 9, 2005.....Anything else?
"i'm a retired cop. collective bargaining got us our bullet-proof vests."
On an earlier post, I thought you implied you were hired and worked for Governor Palin. Was that just to make it seem as though you really had the "inside scoop"? So, your close, "you ought to know" connection is the equivalent of a Rubber Tree to the CEO of GM.
@noflizone You mean as opposed to what she would have done if she were a liberal? Go into a Planned Parenthood in her 26 th week, had the doctor crush the baby's skull, then vacuum it's brains out. Then go back in and slice off it's lttle arms and legs, and pull the pieces out, one at a time and throw them in to a Bio-hazard garbage bag.
Or would you just mock him and his down syndrom, like your felllow Liberals did on the Family Guy.
Did you eat at a Chinnese restaraunt today? Look on the back of the little slip of paper. Usually it includes your lucky number and how to say one a word in Chinese.
Brilliant. A credit to your ideology!
You keep grubbing and rooting around for truffles.
KINGS AND QUEENS OF USA NEED TO BE TREATED LIKE THE MID-EAST TYRANTS.WITHOUT A NEGOTIATOR OR BARGAINING POWER THESE JERKS WILL USE THEIR POWER LIKE sutircorned MENTIONS.GUESS WHAT, THESE JERKS KNOW NO COLOR,ALL WILL BE INTIMIDATED.WORKING FOR THE US GOV TYRANTS WERE LIKE A DRILL SGT IN BOOT CAMP.MOST WOMEN AREN'T AWARE OF 'CHICKEN-SHIT' AND THATS WHAT A PRINCIPAL OR OTHER MANAGER WILL BE INSTRUCTED TO BE LIKE.IF THEY WON'T THE KINGS AND QUEENS WILL GET SOMEONE ELSE.FORM A LINE @'BUNKER HILL'!
You neglect to mention that Obama inherited the greatest financial disaster since the Great Depression. Obama has had to spend a great deal to combat it--as economists across the board agreed was necessary--but he has not been *irresponsible* in the manner of Bush, e.g., fighting a war of choice in Iraq, cutting taxes for the rich unnecessarily, and allowing a housing bubble to swell into the Great Recession.
@sutircomed While I will give you a partial on the War in Iraq, I will remind you that virtually EVERY major Dem agreed with the intel that Sadaam had WMDs. In fact, when Clinton was Pres, he made exactly the same case. The Dems also VOTED FOR the War, but as usual, when it turned to stink, took zero responsiblity.
You know, the one Obama raged against and pledged to end, but wont. Promised to close Gitmo, but is actually going to START trials there now. Obama is just a black George Bush.
"In the two most critical votes, the Democrats gave their support by a 37 to 6 margin to a Republican amendment tacitly supporting the Bush administration’s policy on the Iraq war; and then voted 30-13 for a Republican amendment explicitly endorsing the use of military tribunals at Guantánamo Bay ."...WSWS (The World Socialist Website).

When the White House warned of "systemic risk for our financial system" unless the mortgage giants were curbed, Frank complained that the admin was more concerned about financial safety than about housing." @sutircomed Good grief, when will you libs take ownership of anything! If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the FY 2007 deficit of $500 billion, the last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending. After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending. Now we are at $1.7 trillion! If Obama inherited anything, he has now increased it four-fold. More to follow...
@sutircomed Budgets come from Congress, and the party that controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democratic Party. They controlled the budget process for FY 2008 and FY 2009, For FY 2009 Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office. At that time they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the FY 2009 budgets. It has been downhill since!

@kozjevime1Forget all these BS names for the way a society should live. The one word EVERYBODY should be shooting for is EQUALITY! Nobody is better than the other person! If the rich paid the poor more money, they would still be filthy rich, but the poor would be able afford more things, which would create more customers, which would great more jobs, which will make a strong economy. And for the record, there has never been in history a society that is true communism. Nazi's were a dictatorship
The sad truth is many Republicans remain in a massive state of denial about the party's five-decade-long policy of race-baiting. Jesse Helms. Strom Thurmond. Trent Lott. Ronnie Reagan. Much of it now is outsourced to the propaganda wing, Faux News.
@sutircomed "The sad truth is many Republicans remain in a massive state of denial about the party's five-decade-long policy of race-baiting."
As opposed to the Democrats, 5 decades of Plantation Politics, 100 yrs of Slave ownership, 150 yrs of Segregation under the Democrat's Jim Crow Laws?
Republicans Charles Sumner and Benjamin Butler authored the ONLY CIVIL RIGHTS ACTS (1871 and 1875) until the REPUBLICAN sponsored Civil Rights Act of 1957 and assisted the 1964 CR Acts passage.
Fiscal responsibility? From the party of W . . . Hilarious. Last time you were in power you started a trillion-dollar war based on lies, gave tax cuts to fat cats that have failed to produce jobs, and produced a the Great Recession.
When Bush (as bad as he was, and he was bad) left office, the deficit as a percent of Gross Domestic Product in 1/2008, was 1.14. Since Obama took office, it has risen to 2008=3.18, 2009=9.91, 2010=8.92.
The Naational Debt rose under 8 yrs of Bush from 6.19 Trillion to 10.4 Trillion or about 4.2 Trillion total.
Under Obama, in only 2 yrs, it has risen 4 trillion. He has done more damage in 2 yrs than Bush did in 8.
@AnimeOfTheState " in only 2 yrs, it has risen 4 trillion. He has done more damage in 2 yrs than Bush did in 8."..........except....thats not true. We can also credit Bush for his creative accounting method of not including the cost of our current foreign wars in his deficit caculations. While I'm not a fan of Obama's spending spike....Bush's is MUCH higher than the figures you are quoting.
Not another that doesn't know how to google. These figures are from the Federal Government. Please cut the partisan crap. Go to the government's own website. As I stated in previous posts, I am NOT a Republican, I am an Independent. Bush is totaly to blame for STARTING the socialist & croney capitalism bailouts, where risk is socialized and profits privatized. Bush openned the door, but Obama ransacked the house.
@AnimeOfTheState My google seems to be working fine........Bush still funded the wars through emergency supplementals.......not the buget (like Obama). I don't care if your a Repub or a DEM.....or if you retrieved those figures from GODS website.....they're wrong.
Irrelevant. The national debt is the total amount of money owed by the US Govt to creditors who hold US Debt instruments (TBills, Bonds, etc). It includes all fed debt held by states, foreign govts corps, and individuals.
The 2010 Budget proposed by Obama is projected to nearly double the debt to $20 trillion by 2015.
BTW, The GAO couldnt even provide an audit opinion on the 2010 financial stats due to 'widespread material internal control weaknesses". Rather euphemistic.
Do you have any idea about fiscal responsibility ? .Or like a true liberal You don't care about use of taxpayers money can you ask yourself for a second why I have to pay for my benefits +unionized workers benefits?, stop dreaming on Sarah, can You talk without mentioning her?, about the Koch brothers, ask yourself about contributions+influence from Soros, Oprah, Moore, Union bosses, etc, etc to Obama's agenda , supporting any liberal/democrat /progressive campaign anywhere in the country.

What don't you people understand about "WE ARE BROKE" If the Unions were concerned about it's members, perhaps they should quit stealing thier money.
chemokman 10 months ago
@chemokman He represents 1.8 million people and holds a high office. 480,000 is NOTHING compared to Koch's 21.5 billion and paying nearly the same tax rates and complaining about the country. The people in Wisconsin apart of Unions generally make less money than the private sector to make up for the benefits they receive, and Unions are important factors in keeping corporations/states from taking advantage of people.

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker apparently believes he is above the law: He defied a court ruling and, late on Friday, published the bill killing collective bargaining rights for public employees. Earlier this month, a Wisconsin judge issued the order that delays implementation of the bill. A court hearing set for tomorrow will decide the issue.
noflizone 11 months ago
@noflizone Public unions should NEVER have been allowed to begin with!
Government collective bargaining means voters do not have the final say on public policy.
Union contracts make it next to impossible to reward excellent teachers or fire failing ones. Union contracts give government employees gold-plated benefits – at the cost of higher taxes and less spending on other priorities. The alternative to Walker's budget was kicking 200,000 children off Medicaid.

PartyForEquality 11 months ago
@PartyForEquality How did you ever conclude that I felt Obama was better than McCain? I would NOT have voted for Obama under any situation. He is a man/child with no background, experience or credentials. As Hillary Clinton said during the campaign, "all he has even done is read one moving speech at the 2004 Democrat Convention". And as Joe Biden said, "The Presidency is no place for on-the-job-training!"

They lost $12 billion from 2007- 2009 and the union-backed generous employee benefits along with collective bargaining contracts are a big part of the problem.
valtom6 11 months ago
@valtom6 In spite of your warped view of people who love this country (Tea Party, etc.) surely you can see that The Chosen One, Reid and Pelosi's views are NOT in agreement with mainstream Americans. The Constitution is over 220 years old and it is still the supreme law of the USA, although The Chosen One says "the U.S. has suffered from a fundamentally flawed Constitution that does not mandate or allow for redistribution of wealth". He reveals he has NO cultural ties to America. What a guy!
valtom6 11 months ago
@valtom6 ...you didn't tell a story you used a quote as if it related to today's issues. If you read up more on the story, you would see why I was laughing...but hey mash any group of words together, it's still going to be shit...because this union stuff that has taken place is corruption at the expense of the workers, no matter which CEO's quotes you use.
PartyForEquality 11 months ago
@valtom6 ...I love how you Republicans (you are a Republican) scream out against redistribution of wealth...yet it was Reagan who broke our system with it. Now, if someone tries to right Reagan's bullshit "trickle down economics" they're considered a socialist. So it's okay to be a fascist, but not a socialist??? I find this back and forth to be very classic, so continue. What's next, are you going to start using bumper-sticker slogans that claim Obama is not American? Hahaha

@valtom6 The standards of conduct provisions of the Civil Service Reform Act of 1978 (CSRA), among other statutes, guarantee certain rights to Federal employees who exercise their statutory right to become a member of a union representing Federal employees.--in other words, you're full of shit.
PartyForEquality 11 months ago
@PartyForEquality There you go again with such enlightened and uplifting words. You have such a command of the English language. Beth Moten, legislative and political director for the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) which represents 600,000 federal government workers recently told NBC's Meet the Press that "most federal employees don't have collective bargaining rights over pay and benefits. Their pay and benefits set by Congress". More to follow....
valtom6 11 months ago
@PartyForEquality Sure, we live in America, anyone can join a union, but under Jimmy Carter's Civil Service Reform Act of 1978: ++Federal employees are denied by statute the right to strike. ++It is an unfair labor practice for a labor organization to picket a federal agency in a labor-management dispute if such picketing interferes with an agency's operations (Reagan fired the Air Traffic Controllers). More next post....
valtom6 11 months ago
@PartyForEquality (con't from earlier)++The scope of mandatory collective bargaining for federal employees is limited to personnel employment practices only. Basic working conditions such as wages, hours of work, and employee benefits are instead subject to statutory provisions.
++Union and agency contract provisions as well as all other forms of compulsory union support are prohibited in the federal civil service.
valtom6 11 months ago
@PartyForEquality If all of these limitations sound like Federal employees have collective bargaining and can complain like the Wisconsin public employees, you don't understand. Why do you think even CNN, ABC, NBC and the other liberal news media repeat and repeat that "Federal employees DON'T have collective bargaining?" Do you live under a rock?
valtom6 11 months ago
@valtom6 ..the U.S. Postal Service, which has nearly 600,000 career employees, most (but not all) of whom have collective bargaining rights for pay and benefits. Also, Air traffic controllers can bargain over wages under a 1996 law that granted full bargaining rights to a number of federal workers covered under the Federal Aviation Administration...the other Federal Employees are still a part of unions, and sheltered under budgets that stay above inflation, while also receiving amazing benefits.
PartyForEquality 11 months ago
@valtom6 ...it truly doesn't matter. Walker has kicked the beehive on this issue, and these bargaining rights will likely be put back in place after the guy is recalled next year...his legislation is still going through the courts, and unless they are some whacked out republican judge...it will most likely be overturned.

PartyForEquality 11 months ago
@valtom6 ...unions are not funded through a single bit of tax...how much of your taxes go to pay for teachers? Chirp, Chirp? Is it safe to say you're now talking from your ass. How about my taxes going to bail out corporations when they're deemed to big to fail? How about my taxes going to oil companies in way of subsidies? How about my taxes going to pay for Haliberton, so they can profit off of Iraq/Afgahnistan? It's cool if our taxes go to corporations, but not to teachers...?
PartyForEquality 11 months ago
@PartyForEquality I haven't made any comments on this site for weeks and now, all of a sudden, your childish, four letter words and misspelled comments appear? You must not pay taxes or you would know every town/city/municipality levees taxes for education. In Dallas, about 10% of my property tax bill went to schools. In NM it is somewhat lower. How do you think teachers are paid? More to follow.....
valtom6 11 months ago
@PartyForEquality Okay, so now you are aware that taxpayers pay teachers salaries. Then, in certain states, teachers are forced to pay union dues (e.g., Wisconsin). So, indirectly, taxpayers pay for public unions. Then the union thug bosses elect Democrats ($400 million to Obama), Then those Democrats raise my taxes to 'payback' the unions and/or bailout GM, a union shop. Taxpayers and those evil corporations pay for everything in society. Wise up.
valtom6 11 months ago
@valtom6 ...so how much do your taxes go up to pay for teachers? Don't give me the same crap you said in the comment before...give me some actual figures from something legit...Again, how much do corporations pay into Republican campaigns? I guarantee you that it is more than what unions can pony up. 400 million? Where'd you get that figure from....a little rounded off. Walker is keeping the unions that covered him unscathed...so don't throw out as a Democratic thing.
PartyForEquality 11 months ago
@PartyForEquality You are buying into this liberal myth that Republicans are rich. In fact, it is totally the opposite. In 2008, 17 of the top 25 contributors to 527 advocacy groups funded liberal/Democratic causes, including liberal billionaires George Soros, and Peter Lewis. Donors who gave a million dollars or more gave $36 million to the Democrats and only $3 million to Republicans, a 12:1 ratio.
valtom6 11 months ago
@PartyForEquality" unions are not funded through a single bit of tax".
In the case of GM (The only case on record where tax losses were allowed to transfer to a company who only purchased the assets, Section 363, instead of Chapter 11) . The New GM's tax benifits enriched the UAW(recieved 17% of NEW GM) and the Governments of Canada and Ontario(10%), costing the US Treasury a whopping $22.6 Billion after the initial IPO for the New GM. How do you suppose the UAW will show their gratitude...?
AnimeOfTheState 11 months ago
@AnimeOfTheState .compare that with AIG and many of the others in the financial sector who received bailouts...Bush pumping out 670 billion dollars...how will they show their gratitude? The workers for GM and taken very deep pay cuts, and GM is repaying them with bonuses based on profit...the unions worked it out to where if the company does amazingly well, the workers who have sacrificed will receive some compensation. It this what you were refering to? Have AIG peeps shows the same sacrifices?
PartyForEquality 11 months ago
@PartyForEquality Your arguement is absurd. First, Christopher Dodd(Dem) was the largest recipient of AIG campaing contributions in 2008, OBAMA was second. Only about 350 Billion of the 700Billion bailout was spent before Obama took office and could direct it. Also DODD wrote the amendment to it that enabled AIG executives to get 165 million in bonuses.
AS I have said, I and virtually every conservative was opposed to the bailouts. It was corporate socialism.
AnimeOfTheState 11 months ago
@AnimeOfTheState .as for the auto-bailouts, our nation is looking to receive compensation...interest on top of the loans. Bush's TARP program hasn't guranteed any of this. If you want to continue with "hook-ups" look at the shadey deal Cheney did with many of the natural gas companies. These companies do not have to abide to any of the rules in the Clean Air Act/Water Act; now peeps can light their water on fire when it comes out of the tap. How do you think these gas companies will contribute.
PartyForEquality 11 months ago
@PartyForEquality BTW, The Dems controlled the House and Senate. THEY PASSED IT. Bush proposed it, but CONGRESS had to approve it, so stop the obfuscating.
As for the auto industry, GM will NEVER pay it all back. That is why they paid the 8.18 Billion LOAN portion back out of the other 51 Billion, because that is all they are responsible for. After the Gov sold a portion of it's stock, the price would have to nearly tripple for them to break even on the remaining shares they own.
AnimeOfTheState 11 months ago
@AnimeOfTheState ...I also find it funny that you complain about 26 billion dollars going to save hundreds of thousands of jobs, while the Republicans just pushed through their demands of millionaires and up getting tax relief which comes out to 60 billion annually. Republicans held everyone else's tax relief hostage until their rich friends got their "relief"...poor billionaires. Spoiler Alerty-not a single economist says that giving to our rich will help our economy grow.
PartyForEquality 11 months ago
@PartyForEquality
Delphi is a GM spinoff and has UAW workers.
AnimeOfTheState 11 months ago
@AnimeOfTheState ....while demanding concessions from workers, Delphi executives will share $98 million in bonuses this year and paid for lavish cruises for executives. The bonuses reinforce the fact that Delphi is using the bankruptcy process to impose deep wage and benefit cuts the workers had already rejected during contract talks, union leaders say.
PartyForEquality 11 months ago
@AnimeOfTheState ....the question is...why are you giving me quotes from 2005??? "We can no longer afford to continue to pay all-in wage and benefit costs of approximately $130,000 per year per U.S. hourly worker," Delphi Chairman and CEO Robert S. "Steve" Miller said Monday.
