This vid tells me nothing. I want to get this right. I believe it works because I self test e.g. going through a pack of cards and I get around 2 thirds correct so there must be something in it BUT why only 2 thirds? Why not 3 thirds? Also the techiques given everywhere are useless with me.The finger loop will still not break since both hands are weak. I have found a different way but it still takes a lot of awareness in how it feels. I need really provably strong methods to try. Help please?
I'll tell you there's lot's o shysters out there. Why not just try it for yourself. You don't need an expert and sure don't need "double-blind" to affirm the results for yourself. It's a subtle technique that requires practice and different ways of doing it work better for different people
When you talk about scientific evidense. Who is actually conducting these tests? Is it the AK people themself?
If a mobile telephone manufacturer conducts a test on the health risks from extensive use of mobile phones. What would the result be from this research?
When bible archaeologists dig for evidence that would determine the historically correctness of the bible, what will they find?
When it comes to muscle testing for nutrients, toxins, sensitivities, etc., AK - at best - *may* indicate a participant's subconscious (uh, "intuitive") conclusions about the item.
When testing some item that's unknown to either participant, the results are totally inconsistant.
This fact has already been repeatedly demonstrated in a number of published, peer-reviewed studies.
IOW - AK doesn't work as advertised. Period. Search YouTube on Randi and Kinesiology.
I have tried this and it is pure ideomotor effects. I caught my friend who is a trained kinesiologist in cheating when she did a muscle test. It`s just pure nonsense and I really think these people should open their eyes to the real world.
we mock what we do not understand. furthermore, 'if' you caught one person cheating doing muscle testing, does that really mean there's no merit to the technique?
I have actually tried to understand this and made some research because I know your point about "mocking what we don`t understand" always come up. No, my experience does not prove anything. It´s just my personal story from one testing.
However a double blind test will give a much more accurate result, and kinesiology seem to always fail these tests. People believe in it because they WANT to believe. That´s my opinion.
you do make a few valid points. my perspective is that there's soooo much out there that we don't understand and/or can't explain, that i try to keep an open mind about things. while i'm not
You always want to be careful that your mind is not so open your brain falls out. That is to say, that "having an open brain" typically means, in complimentary medicine parlance, "lowering your standard of evidence." You should always demand that any medical treatment be science-based, and at the very least evidence based. It should have plausible mechanisms and actually demonstrate a significant benefit. Most CAM modalities don't even have any evidence that they even work.
hi there mathreality, 1st of all, you're funny. secondly, my being an alternative primary care doctor, i can tell you from my experience (historical, not empirical data), muscle testing sure seems to be valid. having said that, the only way you can achieve a high level of interuser reliability, you must first be using 'competent' testers. so many people go to one weekend seminar and believe they then possess adequate musle testing skills. like anything else, it takes practice. lots of it.
(continued; sorry) TOTALLY convinced that muscle testing works with any degree of reliability..... it may be that all the 'bugs' just aren't worked out yet.
I've having a little trouble understanding what you mean by "double-blind" in this case. I think if you google applied kinesiology you'll find evidence that supports it. We're talking scientific evidence, kiddo.
Please give me a link to spesific scientific evidence.
By double blind testing I mean that the person performing the test , and the person being tested should not know what substanse is being tested. This would eliminate any idemotoric effects.
Yes, there is a lot of info. Both for and against. What can we trust? I do not understand the last part of your comment, sorry. Can you refrase? The burden of evidence is not on my side. The AK people has to prove it´s working, not the skeptics proving it´s not. That´s the way it works.
So far all I can find is tests that are in my opinion biased.
A double blind test where not the AK people nor the skeptics can infuence the outcome will tell the truth.
At least one can get an unbiased result. Actually, if a double blind test would show that AK works, I would have no problem changing my opinion on this. It´s anoying that skeptics are always pictured as the narrow minded. Believers will never change their mind, even if scientific evidence is against their belief. Interesting or not? Who is open minded?
I have not yet seen any real evidence that AK work, but it would be amazing if such evidence could be produced.
Where does the muscle testing come in to play? Video is worthless.

Do a search on applied kinesiology. There's info. If you're intent is to "prove" that it's fraudulent, when just keep "believing" what you do.
cheers,
