  • So ur gonna use heavy but then you change to death??? Thats a good thing i guess and what song is that?!? \ii/0_0\ii/

  • Classical is too similar to heavy metal... should have done death metal or something

  • @7.14 damn right!

  • hollywood science

  • 4:24 Does anyone know the song that Tori is listening to?

  • This is the most ridiculous uneducated experiment to debunk Primary Perception. It doesn't matter what you say to a plant, you have to mean it to get a reaction. Plants don't hear you, they feel your feelings. Cleve Backster used a Polygraph (Lie Detector) to test plants and they reacted like humans. If you lie, the polygraph registers that you are saying something you don't feel. You can't just say you hate a plant, you have to actually hate it. Plants grow better if you genuinely love them.

  • @materialismgonegaga Cleve Backster's study is filled with extremely shoddy research. The idea that plants somehow sense emotion is completely unsupported by the biological functions of what makes up plants. It's been shown that sound affects plants not because of perception, but by reaction. It's like saying that striking a bell makes the bell ring because the bell knows you want it to when you hit it.

  • @materialismgonegaga Thanks! Never had such a good laugh! xxD

  • wow they are stupid. Talking to plants is good for them because you breathe out carbon dioxide which they breathe in, and when you talk, you give them extra.....I can't believe they let retards like this on tv. They need a biology class. -.-

  • "COME ON LITTLE PEAS,PUSH IT UP" lol love that line but not Scottie grant is better

  • I remember this episode. Loved it! Especially using heavy metal. YAY!!!

  • I feel like such a dork for writing this, but I felt so bad for the peas that got yelled at and the ones that got stuck with the metal music. The poor peas were probably like, "WTF? . . . What did we ever do to you? :(" And then, when I saw the that peas who were talked to nicely and the ones with the classical music were growing better, I was so happy for them! :) Yea, peas! Keep on growing!

  • There's a lot of things I could ask and could say right now... but the only question my head wants to ask first here is, WHERE IS GRANT?!?!

  • @fantabulousK Grant joined the team after the third season.

  • @imaculata You need to study some philosophy and realize it is not a fact that our brains produce consciousness, it is not a fact that matter is the sole reality, it is a philosophical position that isn't necessarily as logical and self-evidence as you believe it to be. Most of you find the concept of plants have consciousness absurd merely because you are materialists that have never questioned your own belief system, in fact you are not even aware it is a BELIEF.

  • @imaculata "we are not connected to the world" wow.. that statement reveals a deep ignorance.

  • I don't know if these women can affect plants one way or another, however they sure did affect me rather horribly.... They are frightening. So much so, I stopped watching at the 1 minute mark.

Feed your souls girls and stop supporting the American death machine.

  • @Seudonima Uh, weren't you listening? They were testing whether talking to plants can affect them, not whether breathing CO2 on them will affect them.

If they were speaking to the plants in person, the known positive effects of breathing CO2 on them would skew the results.

  • where's grant?

  • @dobermangrl The fact that Scottie is there makes it pretty clear that Grant wasn't a part of the show yet when this episode was made.

  • 7:16 LOL

  • Isn't it natural? One breathes out water and carbon dioxide, both things that plants need to grow.

  • Yes, it is "true intention" that is key to the experiment. If you are doing it and you really are not feeling what you say, then it does not work. Look up Cleve Baxter and his polygraph plant experiments.

  • This fails. Because intention is where the meaning of words comes from. Not words themselves. So you can say all the hateful or loving words you want... if the intention isnt genuine you're not going to get a genuine result.

  • @Neuromance27 The same people that claim that thoughts affect plants, also think water is influenced by thought. It really shouldn't make any difference. It's not like plants are psychic (they don't even have a brain), its not like we send out brain waves. Wether the thoughts are recorded or spoken, there is no difference. Words do not contain thoughts, as soon as speak them they are just sound, just like a recording.

  • heh that was pure hatred. good song.

  • isn't water is part of important source for growth for plants? talking to water is always effect it's form maybe from perfect formed water crystal can make the plant consume the nutrient or somewhat they need in the water better~ (Dr. Masaru Emoto can explain more I think)

  • lol jamie is growing pot

  • can anyone tell me what there control group was ?? thnx

  • 3:50

And I've just spit soda all over my computer screen XD

  • i feel bad for the peas that have to listen to classical music and have to keep hearing i love you love you love you. The peas that get to hear heavy metal are lucky!!

  • Maybe the plants grew better w/ heavy metal because it was the caretakers music of choice.

  • 7:00 Creeper! go away!

  • 6:40 this guy's huge!

So is my dick when i look at ur ass.

  • The Heavy Metal Pees going to be FUCKING BRUTAL!!!

  • 6:05 made me laugh

  • lmao

  • lol metal.ok. interesting though...

  • Who can tell me the band name?? For the death metal I will be so fuckin happy

  • @becauseican66 without a doubt that was Chimaira

  • So the guy says "Ooh here we are, dead of summer." but yet two of them have on coats and they are crossing their arms, shivering, trying to stay warm.

  • 4:30 lol totally awesome

  • 1:55 FTW

  • Scottie has the hottest jujji

  • Why would you put peas in your burrito?

  • @teta14 She had the same idea. They were ruined. X333

  • whats the classical music called?...anyone knows??..it almost drove me to sleep.....

  • they chose some nice music :D

  • Pure Hatred by Chimaira

  • does anyone know that song? i want it...

  • Hmmm. I wonder if the heavy metal plants just grew because of the CO2 coming from Tori's yelling! ;)

  • i cracked up at 4:24 5:25 and 7:07

    XD I love these guys!!

  • I laughed my head off when it went from the i love you love you love you to RRRRAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH at 5:25 to 5:31

  • Metal is good for the soul :)

  • Not death metal....Should have used some fucking Cannibal Corpse or Dying Fetus

  • So I'm a foolish hippie crystal gripping nonsenser?):

  • Wheres grant? And who is with carrie and torrie?

  • @246superdragon

That's Scottie. Grant replaced her in later seasons.

  • @246superdragon In the first seasons Adam and Jamie did everything, then a few episodes later they got help from Tory with a myth, and Tory, Kari and Scottie started helping out more and more and just kinda became a support team rather suddenly.

Then Scottie quit the show and Grant replaced her. =P

  • Loved Jamie's Observations that the cops would come and check if he was growing pot on the roof. I am sure if the police did show up they would be grinning and chuckling on the way back down:)

  • 2 things, one a recording is different then a person actually using their own energy involved with a plant, second why does myth busters try and act like they're insane or going insane from talking to plants, and they need time off the roof. Look at the healers and shamans all across the world, they all talk to plants and thats where they get the knowledge for there mixtures like ayahuasca and other magical potions of DMT the spirit molecule.

  • @IAMME857 You didn't learn anything from this science experiment did you?

  • @Imaculata I am just being aware that their is a bigger picture, When you ask the shammans how they learn to create their ayuawasca brews, which takes two specific plants in a vast jungle, they will tell you that the plants told them how to make it in the beginning. And there are many studies that prove plants react to our thoughts.

Cleve Backster used polygraph machines on plants and when you thought about burning a plant (not actually doing it), the polygraph would go nuts.

  • @IAMME857 Plants by definition can't react to thoughts. They can't react, because they don't have thoughts them selves (they have no brain) and they can't move. But also, there is no way for humans to transport their thoughts to a plant in any way that would make it possible for a plant to make sense of them. I don't see how you could take any of these studies serious.

  • @Imaculata LOL plants most definetly can move and they do so, they grow and will move towards light, and reaction does accure in the venus fly trap, but when you start to understand the "source field" that our concoiusness stems from it is connected to the plants and all living things, and there any many experiments to back this, and when you understand that the magic mushroom does give you these capabilities(psylocibin breaks down into dmt). youtube ONE STEP BEYOND- THE SACRED MUSHROOM

  • @IAMME857 Right, source field. And you actually believe this nonsense? We are not connected to the world, nature isn't the way Ferngully taught you. We do not share a magical connection to all things alive. All we are is bags of flesh, trying to outlive other bags of flesh, while consuming a variety of things fleshy and none fleshy. Thats where the connection ends. Our conscience stems from our brain, and there's no reason to assume it is connected to anything more than our own bodies.

  • @IAMME857 The Mythbusters tested Cleve Backster's research in another episode. They completely decimated it.

  • Comment removed

  • @JustThatGuyOnline what episode and where can i find it :)?

  • @IAMME857 u high?

  • @DJBethette0fficial You're an idiot.

  • @IAMME857 Hell yeah!

  • Chimaria- Pure Hatred

  • They should have used Dimmu Borgir

  • Different studies say that heavy metal music stresses the plants, that the best is the classical music and I believe so because vibrations of heavy metal music are very strong. Anyway talking to plants is good because you generate CO2 while breathing, so i don't believe a recording will have much effect.

  • She's a vegetarian who hates plants?

  • So let me get this straight...they think plants that were constantly exposed to "DEATH metal" grew and had more LIFE than the others? XD

  • LOL! "You pathetic little.. nasty thing. I hope you shrivel and die!"

  • y do i suck faggot

  • has anyone heared of cymatics!

  • Metal is proven to be good for plants, and for babies! FUCK YEAH METAL.

  • I put death metal for my weedplants ..DEATH METAL!

  • Chimaira is the best band in the world. After them Children Of Bodom, Slipknot and Dethklok

  • Rock sucks ass

  • @jailbreaker341 you suck

  • Talk to your penis it grows faster.

  • @kevinranillo Apparently, playing deathmetal makes it grow even faster.

  • so glad they got rid of blondie....hope she's doing well on some other network, but i didnt like her on mythbusters

  • FCKIN DEATH METAL!!

  • its not just the words that the plants like :p its the emotion

  • 7:07 i shit myself from laugh ! XDDDDD

  • njorot01

    i agree

its what one believes, not just what one says that is paramount

a concept too farout for most "mythbusters"

google lloyd pye paradigm films starchild skull

    amazing stuff

  • LOL the heavy metal greenhouse is just one big mosh pit for plants. XD

  • well people of greatest importance is what these lovely people believe before they conduct these so called experiments. it is exactly what they get no surprises. this is not science my friends. do they even bother to blind themselves?

  • Metal song was Pure Hatred by Chimaira \\m//

  • @pocketbanana haha thanks i was wondering what the band was

3 of my favorite loves: science, plants, and death metal. (also tori <3 <3 <3)

  • this is awesome

  • I only came here because I heard Chimaira was being played during this episode.

  • 2:25-idea submitted by the Guantanamo prison guards.

  • what death metal band was that lol

  • @PrototypeC4 band called chimaira

  • See thats wrong. I cant believe in fairies and then all of a sudden see them. Believing in something doesnt make it real...it makes it imagined. Thats called fantasy not reality. We believe in god? I dont believe or disbelieve in god because no one has any hard evidence. I dont go around making assertions either way, and you shouldnt either because in reality you dont know either.

  • Hey justin beiber made 4 accounts to dislike this video cuz he sang to his plants and they died

  • I talk to trees, and Hey its not live I'm talking to a chair, trees and plants, are a living species, like you and me. having plant cells, instead of human cells. and they just can't walk and talk, but they are alive.

  • @artpeacemaster You, in reality, have no idea what you're talking about, and cant make those kinds of claims.

  • @vidfreak56 why not, my biology, and horticulture teacher both said, anything with cells is a living species. and plants are living species, because they have plant cells

  • @artpeacemaster Thats because the definition of life is centered around "cells". So anything with cells is alive. But life is so much more than that. And if you think that a plant or a tree (even an animal for that matter) are living species, as you put it, "like you and me", then you have no clue what you're saying. A plant may have cells but that doesnt mean its conscious of itself. Having cells doesnt mean having sentience. You say you talk to trees as if you think theyre listening.

  • @vidfreak56 yes they are listening and I will always believe it, and there it nothing you can say to change my mind, they all have different moods, and helped me more than once. they told me, it was going to rain tomorrow, and it did rain, and some trees aren't so nice. so say whatever you want, but the trees and me are one

  • @artpeacemaster ROFL the trees arent talking to you...you are just hearing voices. Its called schizophrenia...go get checked. Stop posting crap on youtube when you have no evidence to back it up. If trees could talk...wed have seen and documented the phenomena by now. No tree is going to just single you out and talk to you and no one else.

  • @vidfreak56 no the they don't talk to me, we communicate with movement like signlanguage. and you are just one of those people who always stays inside of the box, I'm the one who goes beyond or thinks outside of the box, believe things, and knowing thinks, a person stuck in the box would never believe, and if you don't know what the box, is than your dumber than you say i am. And you know what I hate arguig it ever stops, so Tomato Tomawto Potato Potawto LETS CALL THE WHOLE THING OFF.

  • @artpeacemaster ROFL. You think that believing trees are sentient is thinking outside the box? Thats like saying that believing in santa claus is thinking outside the box (lol yeah thats such a free thinker). You have to prove it and not just blindly believe it. You see...people who do think outside the box actually attempt to realize what they are thinking of by proving it or building it. Here you have a simple blind belief that is most likely realized by self-delusion.

  • @vidfreak56 you don't need to see something to believe it, you just need to believe it to see it. for example God, no one has actually seen what god looks like one hundred persent, but we still believe that he's real, even if we never seen him. or who knows it might have even been a her.

  • classical music and heavy metal are almost the same just played with different instruments.

  • If you study science of plants, which I find boring but, still, have to do for school. But anyway we humans breath in oxygen and put out co2. And plants breath in Co2 and put out oxygen. So if you just sit there and talk to your plants for a while, it could have an effect. Or you could just sit there and breath on them. Wich might be less embargoing then talking to them. XD

  • @19lpsOBSESSED49 but they were using a recording

  • @rainick

i am aware of that. I was doing a hypothetical situation. I'm not an idiot. Lol

  • I like how they set up those greenhousess.

  • It's all about energies. Plants consume sun ENERGY and water ENERGY to convert the resource of earth into a living thing. They are beings very controlled by energy. The leap in thinking, lies in the idea that humans give off energies that aren't we can't perceive. I don't know why this is so hard to believe, we don't perceive the heat ENERGY coming from our bodies until we feel another persons or until it's out of normal range. Emotional ENERGY is the exact same way.

  • they would have a growth spurt if kari flashed and rubbed her tits on them every day =3

  • There was a study that proves that emotions expressed to WATER causes the water's makeup to change how it looks under a microscope. This is why emotions spread between people easily, we are made from 70% WATER.

  • @AstralLightWarrior no thats a fraud; you fell for the new age agenda.

  • @AEVautomatic You think I believe it? Ha! I don't even believe in Global Warming because that's a cover up for the government.

    Much love to you :)

  • The whole point of talking to plants is the carbon dioxide. It has nothing to do with the soundwaves

  • i don't understand this vid. lol.

  • They bought the impossibility of reason album, Good choice!

  • "You suck freshmen [HONK]!" XD

    that line always kills me

  • heh jamie growing pot that'd be great

  • i also did en experiment just like this for my science fair in middle school, and pretty much got the same results. The plants who got metal grew alot faster and taller than the ones who had softer music (i used acoustic music)

  • Chimaira is fucking awsome, but theyre not death metal xD

  • Thumbs up if you're doing this for a stats class.

  • Next time try growing pot with the Rock music.

  • Do plants have ears? No? Myth busted.

  • @forthelulzandstuff

Wrong, everything has a frequency, you, me, plants, the earth, take the time and look it up.

  • Funniest episode evar!!!

  • hippie nonsense FTW!

just replace those plants with some MJ ^^

  • Tory's peas are gonna be BAD ASS!

  • hehehe \m/

  • what band is playing in the metal greenhouse?

  • @jimday666 chimaira

  • @CoReYcRaCkDoWn thanks, it sounded more like metalcore rather than death metal as tory has asked

  • @jimday666 yeah, first time i saw this and heard chimaira i was like thats awesome but the guy selling cds is really ignorant

  • "hippy crystal gripping nonsence" ROFL!!!!, and she's hot too.

  • well i know how imma grow pot now jk

  • @ericfuge2

    lol nice

    chimaria its pretty awesome

  • @ericfuge2

yea i heard it wasnt the same but i found out that same day it was pure hatred

    thanks again thought!

  • @ericfuge2

    thanks a lot man

  • What was the name of the song? ( death metal )

  • what song was the death metal one in the store

    i like it LOL

  • Death metal. It's got what plants crave! It's got electrolytes!

  • Comment removed

  • I like the way the talk to the plants and how Tori and Carrie listened to the music!!

  • I'm worried about all of us...

  • Listen to Kari at 5:24.

  • what a bullshit experiment....the metal plants grew better ..probably of the better sun angle....this experiment is far from legit...sry...FAIL

  • @anticannobis better sun angle?the greenhouses were right next to eachother!

by the way, ever think of soundwaves positively effecting these plants?this actually does work...................

  • what if they grew pot.... lol

  • @r0b0kar

    dude, seriously... that's awesome.

  • Umm....playing a stereo won't help your plants...DUHHH...they react to the Co2 you breath out, since plants breath in Co2 and release O2

  • Jamie Well Smokes the green!!

  • I guess they used light Classical. I guarantee that, if they used Verdi's Dies Irae, most Beethoven pieces (like the 3rd movement of Moonlight), etc., the results would've been even better, probably rivaling the death metal results (death metal and dark Classical have a whole lot in common—the main difference is the instruments used).

  • I play pop kind of music for my plants but i wish i know if they like it. I better play some classical too.

  • this sooo funny=))

    awsome!:))

  • The metal song is Chimaira - Pure Hatred

    If anyone was wondering :)

  • plants would die if they heard lady gaga or justin beiber

  • @UltraAniFanDude2323 I don't think they would have started to live

  • @UltraAniFanDude2323 look im not gay or anything but why dose everybody hate justin beaber? I mean. you eather dont like his music or you dont. personaly I dont like his music but I dont see peaple cussing out, say taylor swift or someone else personaly I think your all just jelios of his fame and all the gerls liking him... ok iv made my poin now go ahead and hate on me...

  • @darkrapter125

oh i know i jumped in the bandwagon a long time ago...lol i won't hate you...im kinda dumb for making that comment...i actually like lady gaga now XD

  • YOU SUCK, FRESHMAN *****! XD

  • Tory looks like a taller, skinnier version of a soldier at my reserve unit if he never served (longer hair and facial hair).

  • Carrie is adorable LOL. But after this, I really agree w/ Torry about the psychologocal therapy. lol.

  • I think the recording of their voice don't work, the thoughts im sure does tho. heavy metal worked better then classical cuz of the vibrations. there are more vibrations in the heavy metal so ofcourse the plant will grow better.
