I like your videos, but I can not stand to hear the chewing part of your videos. It is so so annoying,I am sure it is just me but I havr to mute the sound when you start chewing.
@coco37zz Thanks my friend I am glad you enjoyed! Always lots of food at the Farmhouse and a place for you! Hopefully I will get the amateur BBQ club going this year, if not there is always the Annual international Competition BBQ we organize in May! and a wonderful year to you and yours!
@AsianCookingmadeEasy Thanks I am glad you enjoyed it! I tried using the tip you gave me about dry skin, I thought adding salt would help bring out a bit more water and it did! I am going to do a few more BBQ in the oven type video's, at least until I get a new BBQ.. It is also good practice for figuring out accurate cooking time for the BBQ. Glad you enjoyed it thanks for the tip!
@powerplantop Thanks my friend, not to bad for my first attempt. Actually the first time I have seen a cut of meat with the skin on it in the grocery around here. Couple more passes and I should have it down pat! Have a great day!
thats a mighty fine piece of meat Jimbo. The crunch you gotta of your fat ws awesome.i absolutly love crackling.looking forward to a year of watching your video.
@karlphillips1 Thanks my friend I am glad you enjoyed it! The crcaklin turned out pretty good but some places were a bit solid and could not be chewed, not sure I might have cooked it too long. You usually do not see a piece of meat in the store with the outer skin on it and for $0.99 LB I just had to grab it for Angie.
I am actually doing a season this year, Menu Monday, What up Wednesday, Foodie Friday and Special guest Saturday.
@wijgego Hey! Were you reading my mind? I remember when I broke it off and saw that fat, like melted butter, sigh I just had to dip in and see how it would taste! Next step is to make the skin a little more fluffy, it was a bit dense in some places making it hard to eat because it was too hard. Thanks a lot for the nice comment!
@Spherical3 Hey thanks! I have been giving it a lot of thought and I think 1 small wood chip every thirty min to an hour in the oven might give it the smokey flavor. I am kinda purist when it comes to smoke flavor and shy from liquid smoke. BBQ sauce helps give it that flavor too. Have a nice day!
@SmokeyGoodness Thanks my friend! Hehehe, the skin was a bit denser than I was shooting for. I might have over cooked it a bit as internal was 183 and I thought I would have 2 more hours to go. I dried the skin after letting it sit with salt on it which brought out a bit more water. Next time I am going to find that paula dean recipe on cracklin before I start.

that was some of the most intense food porn I've seen in a while. the way you dipped the rind in the pork-fat, fap fap.

I suppose you could put a small amount of liquid smoke into the roasting pan to introduce a smoke flavor for an even closer BBQ simulation.
