@JohnBurninate it is a guitar that he bought in Peru in 2 mayo Avenue for just 100 soles it is a very cheap price and the label is "Rosita Guitarras" and I think has floyd because BH asked to the "latiaarrozconpollo" that the guitar has a good pickups!!!!
Duff left in 1997 for which he became tired of waiting for a new album to come out because the "LOST ALBUM OF 1996" had to be scrapped of Slash leaving for legal matters which Zakk Wylde was on this album taking Gilbey Clarke's place. When Slash left, that was it for that album and had to start over. Slash did not get along with Zakk Wylde either and that's why Axl hired Zakk because Slash wasn't getting along with Gilbey. Go Figure !

Buckethead plays alot of different guitars, including the one shown, His over sized Les Paul, his Flying V a Steinberger GS, an ESP MII; and a lot of others. He also has various Amps and Pedals including a Mesa/Boogie Triple Rectifier Amp, One of the finest amps available
Slash and buckethead are i think of the same caliber. Where Slash has the flavor of blues in his work, buckethead has killer speed and accuracy. Slash has always been the Guns of GNR and buckethead did well to take his position, buckethead could never replace slash but he did create his own place in the band, unfortunately not for long ! Bucketheads solo for november rain was really comparable to slashs and he just creat a great slyle for the night train solo which i personally like it.
SO what if slash said buckethead was better... I dont really think slash cares who the best guitarist is.. As diana said he just at ease with the world, Buckethead will never be like Slash..
I dunno about Slash being at ease with the world..He was an alcoholic that drank so much that he almost died that now he's on a pacemaker. That doesn't sound like being at ease with the world at all.
That's because Slash is the most humble person ever. I met him....he's just at ease with the world and has nothing to prove. It takes a great guy to recognize the talent in a fellow musician. They are both good at what they do, but Buckethead get's screwed more since he is playing old GnR songs all the time. Personally, I love Slash because he created the guitar solos to my favorite songs of all time. Buckethead is great on the new CD...I guess we'll have to see the response to the new songs.

Popularity doesn't equal quality. Buckethead has made some of the most critically acclaimed guitar music, he can rightfully call his. Music that not only is technically better, but eons ahead in terms of dynamics, harmonic, rhythmic and melodic structure (complete albums). All of this versus a couple of riffs and solos (with mainstream appeal) Slash "wrote", in a group where Izzy was creatively severly underrated. Yes Buckethead joined, but joined being a legend already.
I commend you mate, why do we need the need argument over who is better than who? Can we not agree that great music is great music no matter who is the better technical musician. I think both buckethead and slash are amazing, why try to pick who is better? It's irrelevant.

That's because Slash is the most humble person ever. I met him....he's just at ease with the world and has nothing to prove. It takes a great guy to recognize the talent in a fellow musician. They are both good at what they do, but Buckethead get's screwed more since he is playing old GnR songs all the time. Personally, I love Slash because he created the guitar solos to my favorite songs of all time. Buckethead is great on the new CD...I guess we'll have to see the response to the new songs.

@jeff223344 i will strongly disagree that buckethead is better than slash.....if you went to a concert would like to see a robot guitar player like buckethead?or would you want to see a man with soul in his guitar playing?a man who hides his face behind a mask?or a guy that tries his best to give you a good show?slashs stage present and feeling into the guitar is incomparable(not sure if thats a word)....i like bucket head too man but its not about the speed its about soul and dedication tomusic

Slash is known for the guy who played with Guns N' Roses and not for releasing 29 solo albums and playing almost every style of guitar playing. Speed is Buckethead's soul. The fact that he can play this fast proves how dedicated he is to guitar playing. Slash is good but he is greatly overrated. I love both but saying Buckethead is without soul is just offensive!

@hallow1993 slash is known for being part of a band which sold over 100 million albums worldwide. Who needs over 29 albums when you can record just one album like "appetite for destruction". Buckethead is a great guitar player but on the stage you need charisma, not super skills and a bucket on your fucking head.

i love how people say buckethead is better than slash. Though it is true that he is a better guitarist in terms of skill...isnt it ironic that buckethead joined a band slash left and played songs he wrote and heisnt nearly half as popular of well know as slash.
I love them both so im not picking sides, im just saying people shouldnt put a 'whose better than who' when it comes to two completly different people.

well what i meant was buckethead IS "technically better" but you're exactly right...slash has had more success and in that regard he wins. but if i was to choose the more skilled guitarist it would be buckethead hands down.

Popularity doesn't equal quality. Buckethead has made some of the most critically acclaimed guitar music, he can rightfully call his. Music that not only is technically better, but eons ahead in terms of dynamics, harmonic, rhythmic and melodic structure (complete albums). All of this versus a couple of riffs and solos (with mainstream appeal) Slash "wrote", in a group where Izzy was creatively severly underrated. Yes Buckethead joined, but joined being a legend already.

They have their own styles and you cant make a compairson between them as they are so different.

it doesn't matter how successful a person is to measure greatness. slash was a very mainstream person ho based his look on what other mainstream people wanted. buckethead is himself. the noly reason slash is so famous is because of advertising. the music label advertiesd him as the best and coolest. the same would go for any person. in this day and age 99 percent of the people dont think for themselves its sad but true. most liten to what is said on tv.

i agree. people who say neither is better in either respect are stupid. yes, slash has sold more records...but does that really mean he's better than buckethead at PLAYING THE GUITAR (NOT SELLING RECORDS). If I agreed with mattfeltham, which I don't, then technically it would be correct to say the guitarist from coldplay is better than buckethead just because he sold more records.
