  • PURPLE ROCKS!!!!!!!!

    THUMBS UP!!!!!!

  • Thanks for posting this!! One of my favorite Deep Purple songs. I'm also a big fan of Steve Morse. He's usually not a big whammy bar guy. You would think if they didn't like it they would tell him to knock it off!

  • uno de los mejores bandas de los 70's love deep purple!!!! saludos juarez chihuahua mexico

  • Lol 1:30 - When I try to do something that sounds like that on my Keyboard my teacher sais I would ruin the keys with that rubbish...

Maybe it is because Jon Lord is much better than me :(

  • vai toma noo cú

  • Too many bald guys at the crowd :)

  • Jon Lord looks like the Winter Warlock. Winter, if you please....

  • Jon Lord, you're fucking god

  • granpas are kickin asses!!!

  • saw them yesterday, best night of my life

  • @nikitofin Seeing them in 2 weeks :D Cheap tricks supporting them :) Should be an awesome show!

  • Gods

  • WOW! Still sounds great. Wow! Guitar rocks. Cool.

  • /watch?v=0aLTBSdwNBY

listen to the very good cover

  • One of the best songs ever! Long live deep purple!! Yes.The best band ever, they rule over anyone, when all their music has been heard. Look up 'Mary Long' by purple...

  • 36 people are not perfect strangers...

  • Believe me. The very long, frustrating time it took for you to get this on here was WELL worth the effort, and watching this even with all the digital mumbo-jumbo every 30 seconds or so was NOT a waste of my time! Thanx!

  • I was at this show! FUCKIN AMAZING!! this was last show jack lord played>>

  • 36 ARE FUCKING IDIOTS ! DAMN ! HOW COULD DIDN'T LIKE THIS SONG!!?!

  • @IgorUptheIrons Who cares? their dicks are probably the size of the dislike bar :)

  • what a performance-tremendous:-)

  • I saw them live at 2008(of course Lord(of the keyboard) wasn't keyboardist, but f''k they ruled!!!Airey played part of the Finlandia and the whole arena hail to the him.Increrible show allthrough!

  • Thats in the pocket, sweet Keyboard intro makes my blood rush!!!CAN YOU REMEMBER>

  • Wow he Gillan has not lost his voice one bit!

  • 34 idiots

  • Morse must be a robot.......... it's impossible.

  • Blackmore left, Morse joined. Deep Purple live on.... who cares who was better?

  • It shouldn't be allowed to anyone else to do Blackmore's job...

  • @BrianGriffin83 maan, u didn mean it, riight? Steve Morse is a thousand times better than blackmore was.

  • @SeraphimStyle You obviously don't understand anything of music.

  • @BrianGriffin83 you obviously think you do understand everything of music... look, i'll tell u simply: blackmore is a guitarist - Morse is an artist. I've been playing various instruments since the age of five, my whole life is music, so I may have a bit of understanding. :) I wouldn't have any problem with your opinion - cause it's normal that one person likes blackmore, an other Morse - if you hadn't state it like the universal justice of the universe. I only missed a "In my opinion..." :)

  • @BrianGriffin83 I do.m Brian (is that a girls name?) i rule you suck so does anyone who sings performs, has opinions, speaks them out or not.

see where I am coming from no you dont f*ckf#ce I am therefore go on ...swallow. LOSER....jeeeezuzz

  • @whtevr2008 stupid crybaby

  • awful guitar

  • You just can't replace Ritchie. He's unique.

  • The lead guitar style is all wrong..get rid of the guy.

  • i fell so good...

  • Floyd Rose!!! :D:D:D:D

  • @palestineoliver Ok, so Ritchie wrote the lyrics and the organ intro too?

How can you say it's a joke? Ritchie was the main reason of the problems in the band.. Yes I know he wasn't the only one, but according to interviews with the other members it seems like that. Steve has done some fantastic work for Deep Purple. Listen to Ted The Mechanic, Sometimes I Feel Like Screaming, Well Dressed Guitar, 69 and others. I think the Mark II lineup made the best music, but Mark VII is my favourite. :)

  • 1 of the true original classic rock bands

  • @palestineoliver totally agree, no blackmore, no purple!!!!

  • Jon Lord, he looks like an Ancient Greek God.

  • @odysseynz or a maffioso :D

  • @odysseynz God of Music!

  • @odysseynz that because he is.............

  • @odysseynz zeus :D

  • @odysseynz Lord is the Lord!

  • I saw DP around this time with the Scorpions. I still think about that show and neither one "stole the show". They were both fantastic! Out of the hundreds of shows I've been to, this was my first time seeing Steve Morse and I was skeptical. That skepticism no longer exists. He added his own flair but in respect to Blackmore, which I respected greatly.

  • 34 persons are worst strangers

  • @NaturallyStoopid

Thanks for u r hard work

  • solówka Jona Lorda jest genialna!

  • John lord!

  • en este caso el cover no le gana al orginal me quedo con el de las berrugas

  • lujo de tema clasicaso

  • Ian Gillan is Grrrreeeaaatttt !

  • Thanx for loading this. Wonderful Lord.

  • Thanks for the upload! One of their best songs!

  • If I had two more thumbs it would be four thumbs down. Just for Morse's performance. Everyone else was superb

  • Chingon haberlos visto aca en Cd. Juarez chihuahua, creo que en el 2005, Ian Guillan cantando descalzo en el viento frio, despues de haber estado enfermo de laringitis, crazy guy!!

  • 5:02 - the perfect gillan scream! thanks so much for this, my fave DP song. I saw them last year in Sydney and was disappointed they didn't do this song. And no, Steve Morse is not Ritchie Blackmore, but he is an awesome guitarist and I don't care if he uses his whammy bar! The overall playing is perfect for this song.

  • @Kazzbahh I agree from Maryland

  • Would someone please take that whammy bar away from Mr Morse... so inappropriate, how about some soul and feeling into it??

  • @fcoto wtf? you want some more feelings from morse?

  • @hary202 yeap man, less fantasy and technique and more emotion!

  • @fcoto i think if morse have put some more feelings into well dressed guitar, sometimes i feel like screamin, loosen my strings, contact lost... and stuff like that, he'd die. simply.

  • @hary202 You seem to be a Morse fan... I'm not a fan of technique, but creativity and individuality. We seem to differ on what we appreciate from each musician. To each it's own.

  • @fcoto

That's like saying Brad Gillis did an awful job with Ozzy Osbourne - he blew Randy Rhoads away in my opinion. Morse is on a different planet altogether however... Fantastic rendition of this great song.

  • @fcoto thats how it was written originally tbf its just way more obvious on here than it is on the studio version

  • congratz to gillan. great singing at this age. :)

  • Oh what a song, sooooo great!!!! Deep Purple is the best Rock Band all over the World, i was 17teen i hear the first " Child in time" Oh my God its my God!!!

  • Ian gillan simplemente... LA VOZ

  • simplesmente os melhores

  • que caña es deep purple y malditos sean los que pusieron que no les gusta este video

  • i saw them live back in 2004 here in Juarez at the last concert ever done at the "Monumental" bullring the best way to say good bye to a great concert place like the plaza

  • ha ha ha I've fkin heard it all ...Steve Morse - THE Guitarists Guitarist - a wanker/? Christ...wonders nervous cease...why dont you just hang a sign on your chest thats states .."I really have no friggin clue what a guitarist is ..."?...

  • @BWPGuy Hmmm.. instead of insulting me, why don't you concede that Morse *IS* wanking off with the Wammy bar when it its entirely inappropriate for the song. Will wonders ever cease? Hero worship gone amok....

  • Steve Morse is the best. Go back to your retirement home.

  • Enjoyable performance. The guitarist is a wanker though. Too much 80's shredder fluff. Take the man's whammy bar away. '

I would think there had been better players to choose after Blackmore's departure,

  • Thank you for the try Natutally Stypid!!! Only for that thumps up!!!!!

    And for the song ofcourse!!!!

  • Ian Gillen simply kicks ass!

  • Música extraordinária!!!

  • good good

  • deep BLUE deep HIGH W.

  • I have this DVD =D

  • great performance... Steve Morse holds his own... too bad that Gillan and Blackmore hate each other though.

  • Blackmore-riff; as usual. As much as he is disliked within the Band due to his behaviour, they know damnsure that it has been his riffs who always have been the core of this Band. He - besides Pete Townsend - is THE Riffmaster of Hard Rock.

  • @gillan5 Well it is an awesome riff, yes, but in the end it seems like a "Kashmir" rip-off.... Who cares, of course.

  • @gillan5

Well it is an awesome riff, yes, but in the end it seems like a "Kashmir" rip-off.... Who cares, of course.

  • @gillan5 Not true. Blackmore had some badass riffs, but I would call Jimmy Page the riffmaster..

  • @EndSquirellAids Page could have get it, but he stopped riffing in 1974! So if you take all the riffs from Purple and Rainbow (Stargazer, Kill the King, Man on the Silver Mountain, Long Live RocknRoll, Gates of Babylon, Run with the Wolve, Starstruck etc.) and add them to his numerous riffs he wrote for Purple you end up with at least double the songs with wonderful heavy riffs than the great Mr. Page has!

  • @gillan5 What are you smoking and can you please pass it around? Ritchie Blackmore has double the heavy riffs than Jimmy Page?

We all love Deep Purple but please keep your comments intelligent.

The comparison is ridiculous to begin with.

  • @nparisot nah in fairness to that lad, it might have been slight hero worship but blackmore has written more recognisable riffs. but thats longevity for you. yes page was a brilliant studio guitarist but when led zep ended the only decent stuff he did after that was one coverdale and page album in the late 80's

  • Yes, grate video, nice sound! But what happen with your name? is too "in usual" But all of us, we are all natural......st...??? Maybe my English is too wrong!

  • keyboards have always been a huge part of deep purple.

    space truckin

    child in time

    mistreated

    burn

    perfect strangers

    just to name a few.

  • yeah blackmore was a god in dp--this is great but i still miss ritchie

  • Can't beat Blackmore !

  • Even though Ian Gillan is an old man, he sounds awesome.

  • I'm not impressed with hearing the keyboard mixed in with any hard rock bands. It sucks large..Get rid of them..

  • @nostalgia43 its an organ technically, and if it wasnt for jon lord purple wouldnt exist today as he was one of the best out there and was willing to play rhythm unlike every other keyboardist. and i think wakeman and emerson would probably have something to say to you about that as they did hard rock as well as prog rock

  • deep purple the best of rock

  • Обожнюю Deep Purple, двічі був на їхніх концертах....

  • Jon Lord...Master of The Keyboards...best rock organ player EVER

    Ian Paice...best left-handed drummer EVER

  • Jon Lord...Master of The Keyboards...best rock organ player EVER

  • wow...the classic lineup ( w/o Ritchie Blackmore of course)...but still way cool.

  • Comment removed

  • @Fael9942 he isn't Jhon lord

  • fantastic!!!

  • In my opinion, the best lineup for Deep Purple was Ian Gillan, Ritchie Blackmore, Roger Glover, Ian Paice, and John Lord. I've been a fan since "Space Truckin". Deep Purple should be in the RRHOF.

  • @killercraigaaaw how come they are not???

  • @killercraigaaaw Why do you want that DP is in the RnR Hall Of Fame? Do you want that this incredible band stands in one line with Madonna, ABBA and Michael Jackson? ;D

  • steve morse doesn't fit purple...his guitar sound is too synthetic...it doesnt have a vintage sound as blackmore's or bolin's

  • @Corleonetone He´s completely dislocated there. He´s like a 80´s shredder trying to cover DP songs. Total bulshit.

  • 29 are Justin Bieber Fans!!

  • sorry, but why is Steve Morse going off on his own?

it's like he's playing a whole different song

    DON'T MESS WITH DEEP PURPLE!!!

  • I`m thinking about hiring Steve Morse to take care of my garden and wash and wax my car, after he finishes the tour.

  • No Blackmore :/

  • one of their best songs.....

  • Damn. Steve Morse ruins this classic Deep Purple tune. How sad... :-(

  • @heritage80elite Morse ruins nothing. He brings versatility, far superior chops and a far superior attitude. Get over it.

  • @heritage80elite As he ruins every other song in Purple. Sounds like a GIT cover band trying to shredd on DP tunes. He has chops, but very little charisma and presence, the opposite of Blackmore,, who always dominated the stage. Simply terrible.

  • @xuxis2008 Very well stated, and my point exactly!

  • @xuxis2008 Utter nonsense. You value Blackmore's stupid "Man in Black" persona more than quality guitar work. In another post you said Morse doesn't look like a Guitar Hero, he looks like he works at Guitar Center. I don't care what Morse looks like, I care what he SOUNDS like. And he smokes Richie (not just speed, but in phrasing, versatility, vibrato, etc). That MiB crap is just cover for Richie to be the jerk that he is, and far from dominanting the stage, he sucks live about half the time.

  • i do love this song but i do miss ritchie blackmore too-oh well-dp keeps rockin anyway.

  • You all that have negative comments didn't grow up in the 60's and 70's-- this is Classic Rock..something that you don't hear of today with all the varieties of music going on...you should listen again as if it were the 1st time you ever heard it.. Deep Purple has earned it's place in music just like all the other bands..

  • you know I seen a video of Rainbow playing this tune...there is NO COMPARISON--DEEP PURPLE IS DEF BETTER!!!! Luv this tune!

  • epic intro

  • Steve Morse is a great guitar player and musician but he will have to live 10 lifes to get even near Blackmore`s presence, charisma and geniality. As a matter of fact, DP without Ritchie is like Rolling Stone without Keith Richards AND Mick Jagger. Total waste of time.

  • @xuxis2008: you're over exaggerating. One of my favourite riffs is from Ted the Mechanic and that's no Blackmore stuff.

  • @xuxis2008 What a crock. Blackmore has been living off this "Man in "Black" garbage persona he's cultivated for these many years. He's a first class jerk who delights in being a jerk. Somebody should've knocked his stupid butt out years ago. Prescence, charisma, and geniality (Geniality?! Blackmore's about as genial as a pissed off rattlesnake) are so supposed to substitute for Morse's far superior skills? And the Stones are a waste of time with either Jagger and Richards in or out of the band.

  • @clstrat939 Well, even if you don´t like the Rolling Stones my point stands. Some people cannot be replaced, period. I like Steve Morse (like I said, a great guitar player) but there is no guitar player in the world who can step into Blackmore´s shoes, simply because he IS Deep Purple, as Jagger and Richards ARE the Rolling Stones. Every DP significant riff came out of Ritchies mind and hands. What Steve Morse did for the DP history besides being a competent cover guitarist? Absolutely nothing.

  • @xuxis2008 Ritchie Blackmore is my all time favourite guitarist. I think he is the best guitarist ever also. But your comment about Steve Morse being nothing more than a competent cover guitarist is so idiotic it is not real. I'll tell you what he brought back to purple, he brought back what was missing. Listen to Cascades: I'm Not Your Lover and if you have any brain in your head you will know what I am talking about. He brought back a vitality and freshness and that was sadly lacking.

  • @railch Sure. I never listened to that song (and have absolutely no interest in doing it) but I bet that it equals Speed King, Highway Star, Lazy, Burn, Smoke and the Water etc. If you have any brains at all you should have get my point by now. I`m not bashing Morse - by the tenth time, he´s great. But not for Purple, as no one besides Blackmore will ever be. It´s an impossibile task, like substituting Keith Richards or Jimmy Page in their respective bands. Got it?

  • @xuxis2008 I have got the fact that you are a cheeky b*stard. I have got brains, a lot more than you. The track I mentioned. I mentioned not for the song, but the head on note for note interlude between Morse and Lord. As for not bashing Steve Morse. Calling him a competant cover guitarist says it all. Why would he want to play like Ritchie? This Deep Purple are in many ways better than MKII. Away back to your room put your flares on, and sing along to Smoke on the water. Get over yourself.

  • @railch Now I see how stupid you are. Of course Morse doesn't have to play like Ritchie, he is a different player with a different style. Neverthless, he will never be as great as Ritchie, who was responsible for every single classic DP tune ever. You say that RB is your favorite guitarist ever, than you know that he as a distinct voice you can recognize from miles away. Morse has not. Why I bother to discuss with you? Your IQ is probably around 40 or 50 at most, isn´t it Forrest

  • @xuxis2008 Cut the attitude and the insults. As for Ritchie responsible for every classic Purple song. I will embarrass you before I leave your childish twitterings. (FACT)The riff for black Night was taken from Ricky Nelsons, summertime, just about note for note. (FACT) The riff from Burn was taken from Gershwins Fascinating Rhythm. I know more about Purple than you will ever know. What you know about Purple you could stamp on a fleas arse. Go away do some homework and grow up.

  • @railch hahahaha, I am the child here, Forrest? Listen to your ridiculous insults. I don´t know if you are a 12 year old boy or just a retarded adult. I think the last hypothesis is more likely. Besides you are the one who started with the (pathetic) insults. But that's not important - what is important is that you can´t tell the difference between a genious and a good musician (FACT). It doesn´t matter that RB stole a riff or two (and adapted it to make true classics).

  • @xuxis2008 As for the Forest jokes. life is like a box of chocolates. And you are the nut.

    Tchau dickhead. Ha ha ha.

  • @railch Even Einstein stole an idea or two from previous phisicists, and that doesn´t diminish his status a bit. Again, Morse will have to live 10 lifes before he can have a tenth of Blackmore's importance in rock AND guitar history. Ok, Forrest?

  • @xuxis2008 I am not wasting my time here. As for Steve Morse, Purple needed a guitarist and his name came up from the remaining four. Gillan Glover Lord and paice. I think they know better about who should be the next guitarist. As for just a good musician are you f*cking serious. Steve Morse was voted "Best Overall Guitarist" by Guitar Player magazine for five years in a row. It qualified him for their guitar player hall of fame.

  • @xuxis2008 Oh by the way. As for Steve filling in for Ritchie. For such an impossible task. 15 years of Steve in the band, not that impossible. You say he is not right for Purple. You are talking MKII Purple. This is the new Purple, Your argument holds no water. I could say Gillan would not be right for MIII Purple. Purple are what they were supposed to be. Roundabout (original name) where people got on or got off. It was still the same band. it will always be Deep Purple.

  • @xuxis2008 Richie is not DP. If he was, they would have ceased to exist without him, which is not the case. Very good player with moments of greatness (more with Rainbow than DP, IMHO). Morse doesn't need to fill Richie's shoes, he carves his own shoes, which Richie never could have filled in a million years. DP is a new band with Morse, far more versatile and technical. Plenty of great riffs, as atira pointed out, Ted the Mechanic is boss. Enjoy DPs past, it's great. And the Stones still suck.

  • yeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • Best performance. Salute from Croatia, and thank you for great show in Zagreb this year.

  • good performence

  • Już coraz mniej takich dżwięków.Dreszczyk emocji towarzyszy mi już okolo czterdzieści lat.(chodzi o Deep Purple )

  • thank god for the internet so all you people listening to today`s crap music can see that once upon a time musicians actually had to have talent--dig deep young folks-more will be revealed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @davelwelch hell yea!

  • What an incredibly boring looking crowd

  • :-) aweeeeeeeesomeeeeeeee :-)

  • CUDO , tak juz nie bedzie , , , ,

  • Great song, but without Blackmore it's not the same

  • @GabeIronMexico It´s not the same at all. Actually, I don´t even bother to listen to it. Would you listen to Led Zeppelin if they put, let´s say, Joe Satriany in Jimmy Page´s place? Me neither.

  • What a piece of shit version of Perfect Strangers. These old dudes came back from the dead to ruin a good thing that shined by the beauty of its simplicity. This self-congratulatory version full of "solos" has simply too many notes. I'm so upset I heard it. I'm going to listen to the original one, which lacks ego and has just enough notes to make it perfect.
