Compaq beat everyone else to a 386 computer; they were the most advanced desktop computers around at the time and they put Compaq at the top for many years to come.
Point taken. With these computers you were forced to optimize your code, for it to run, just look at the sys req of practically any modern PC game (except kkreiger).
But I wouldn't dare say these computers were bad. The first 386 (as i recall, but it might have been the first 486) at its time was worth more than any later computer before multi-core computers.
Well its better than pluto nash and he was in that.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Just goes to show that in 1970s computers were CR*P compared to the modern day ones, but they could write better code.

Babedacus 4 years ago 4
hehehehehe old.
siemens1990 4 years ago
oh wait a sec, now i understand it properly :P anyway, did they rly make a 32 bit computer in mid 80's?!?!
floppydisk35 3 years ago
"32 bits of a bus" refers to the width of the data bus, and not the word size (which was either 8 or 16 at the time).
Babedacus 3 years ago 7
oh that is WAY more different! thanks man! ;)
