hey dude u dnt have to buy a gibson les paul u can get an epiphone les paul for alot less , i got a white gibson les paul just like bucket head and and i got a black epiphone les paul both a preety good dude but ppl got each others likes

I would recommend a Fender Telecaster. The sound of those things is effing awesome, and it's better than the les paul, IMO.
Or if you're into Gibson, an ES-335, with a much better sound than the les paul, althought the les paul is a lot more versatile.
