  • I've just been sitting at the piano for 15 minutes and I can play the first half of this little section. This is gonna take forever...

  • The best ever!

  • Thanks man

  • Comment removed

  • it took me like three weeks just to be able to hear it right played so slowly. At half speed, the beats don't seem to line up right, until you get the hang of it.

  • ey amigo!! hi, a question:

  • @bradleyjdiaz

    it's spelled "Kindergarten"

  • @RidleyXXX Um I'm sorry man I have drain bramage

  • @bradleyjdiaz

  • Millhouse wants to become Jonathan when he grows up.

  • I f-ing love this guy!

  • MOVE THE WORDS!!!

  • @Mr17Songo CLICK CC, AND THELL GO AWAY!!!!

  • @Mr17Songo clic the cc button. was getting a little emotional about the words on the screen until the penny dropped

  • "Ok that's fun *heh*" gotta love it!

  • haha I 1:20 , it's a real pain for his fingers to play in slowmo .

  • Why are there subtitles?? As if a deaf person will be able to appreciate what they're playing.

  • Wow, the first right hand chord in the second measure is HUGE, I can barely hit the 10th with my right hand, never mind playing 2 notes in the middle.... Advice? I guess I will try and see if the left hand cant help out... Otherwise, this might best me

  • esse cara toca muito , parabens.

  • loveloveloveloveloveloveloveloveloveloveloveloovelovvvvveeelooove the beef.

  • click at 2:21 repeditly wen he says "Play"

  • @MrMagician874 lol! i dit it. Very funny!

  • @buthqir thanks man!

  • Beef, uhuhuh

  • madalina manole

  • this guy needs to work out. he's all winded after playing for 2 seconds. lol

  • Does someone know if the "slow part" is the same as the "fast part"? Thanks

  • Yeah, both parts are the same, just takes some putting together to get it upto speed, took me a couple of hours at least!

I have a cover of it on my channel if you want to take a look ^^

  • @DanielxLira It is indeed the same. Hence the slow, then fast part. Slow is for you to practice with, fast is to show you what it could end up sounding like.

  • "Okay, that's fun" He's awesome!

  • It's funny.. this video is captioned. Like it's worth the trouble for all those deaf people playing the piano out there lol

  • This little C ghost note on the right hand got me lost for a while before I took it out to get the rhythm straight...

  • 7#9 would actually be c-e-bb-d# cuz of the "#"

  • Gee I wish this guy were my next door neighbor as I would weed his garden, paint his house and shine his shoes for piano lessons.

  • I spent about an hour making a Video reply for this a few days ago but its not been approved by Expert village which is a little annoying, check my channel to see it if you're interested, or even better if anyone from expert village is reading this.. approve it.

thanks again for the video Jonathan, REALLY enjoyed playing it!

  • beef. uhuhuhu

  • WTF 30 seconds commecrial? WTF get lost YouTube. im not wachting this cos of the adds

  • Less talk/ more playing: CONT:

It's likely most students who can play material similar to the example on this video are technically and musically advanced. Granted, the "2 bar vamp" lacks rhythmic displacement and frequent dissonent tonalities, it's highly syncopated it commands a solid L/R Hand independance.

It seems students at this level may gain more from listening seeing, & repetition. BTW, the demonstration of SLOW practice W /METRONOME WAS AWESOME and sets A GOOD example!

  • Who R U to tell ME what to do? When I began earning a living in the music industry, you were likely in PULL-UPS & your mentality may still be stuck in them!

    1) Comments should be RELEVANT to the video content.

    2) Rude names & insults aimed at others b/c they made a remark not to your liking IS HARDLY RELEVANT!

    3) Jon's demo was superb. I've been a professional musican & educator 20yrs, & I'm 18 credits shy of adoctoral degree in musc. I believe I'm qualified to express a relevant opinion

  • @SideWinder77777 yes, do chill out

  • can you play slower plzzzz!

  • enharmonic, not in harmonic.

  • your moving too fast!

  • Helpful series. Gettin there...

  • can you send me the link for the first video please?

  • whaaa!

I love it! Hot music, really hot music! I will try this track later... I know it will cost a lot of time...

did you write this track by your own?

  • sharp 9 in C7 is not Eflat, it's Dsharp ;)

  • @duumitri ..........same thing...he's just stickin to the recipe.

  • Lulz, nice :)

  • @duumitri E flat and D sharp are the same. It would be both, but it would be E flat to be correct (c minor has flats), but either way - same thing.

  • You're completely wrong. The ninth note on the C scale is D, and sharp nine therefore is D Sharp.

  • eehm no? C7 is a major chord with b7. here with tension sharp 9. the 9th tone in scale is D => Dsharp ;) trust me i study that shit.

  • @ finallyanunusedname2:

Duumitri is right, or as J.S. Bach said: an a-flat is higher than a g-sharp.

  • HaHa

  • due to in harmonics it is eflat and d sharp...lol. Hooray! dsharp is a half step up and eflat is a half step down. its a #9 or a b10...lol

  • Wow! This cool! Thanks for these great illustrations.

  • Great stuff at 02:48

  • Thank you Jonathan! You are a gift to YouTube subscribers who study jazz, blues, and funk piano.

  • sounds great put together. cheers to putting together this series

  • y cant he do parts 1 - 10 every time i watch him he plays different bits

  • beef. haha

  • 0:39

  • @Acidic0man LOL like a snake hiss hahahaha

  • go watch some other piano videos online.

3:40 is not a lot of talking :)

    fast and effecient!

The teachers ramble on for 30 minutes + in some online lessons...

  • Thank Expertvillage for that. They always keep their lessons under 4 minutes.

  • COOL

  • These are great, thanks!!!!!

  • these are great vids, but does anyone know if there are sheets available, like from those 30 blues licks?

  • gotta love this guy. i swear to all the music instruments i got that ill learn to play this someday :) Im playing piano for 8 years. that should be enough, what do you think? just.. lots of practice?

  • Great videos but some seem to be missing. Is there a list of them all? Also, can you send me the PDF as well?

  • hola liliana la banana

  • This riff is really fun to play! Thanks

  • This man is wonderful!

  • Richard Tee is looking down and smiling!!

  • great riff... thanks!!!

  • "expert village" <-- not for beginners. good vid

  • good

  • Great video, I love your syncopation!! You create an amazing groove.

  • Expert Village normal sucks. This guy is good though. What do you want him to do? Hold your hand?

  • well everytime they put up a tutorial its only about a minute of just playing no teaching

  • honey it's not the kind of thing you can teach in a classical way. Listen to music, records, get the feel of the groove, learn some theory and harmony and then come back to these videos. Believe me Jonathon is a great teacher

  • yea im not an expert at piano i can play intermediate and expert pieces like victors piano solo for example its just i cant read music at all all. the stuff i learn is either on youtube or i learn by ear thts y im having so much trouble in advance jazz class i can play the matirial i just need someone to show me first

  • this is an absolute tutorial for people who know their music theory and are not absolute beginners, asshole

  • im srry you guys had to hear tht my brother was on not me he always has to do this kinda shit so i get a bad name on youtube so disregard tht retarded comment

  • i mean read it lol

  • create your own account then.. -.-'

  • By the way -- if you want the music for this series, I have a PDF. Just message me...

  • please send me pdfs, your videos are great!!!thank you so much

  • you're awesome, THIS is piano !

you may know "tigran amasyan", your fast playing make me thinking to him.
