i actually find quite hilarious how much FFVI fanboys hate VII and are willing to go as far as to mess around with their favorite game to prove who knows what, to tell the truth i don't even know if VI deserves such love, i played VII (wich is not my fab) and it was far from perfect but improved a lot, im currently playing VI and most characters (specially setzer and gogo) suck major balls, and in the end is far too glitchy and poorly gimick-ed, the only thing that holds up is the story
@theshninja, actually i just finished the game like a week ago, and to tell the truth i hated most of the game's beginings but loved the final part (most of all the free roaming worlda map with many optional quests), as for the programing i think it was flawed beyond the aceptable (first game in the series i ever run into a glithc by accident, like loosing interceptor for ever), as for the history events i think they were a little too ambitious for the time.
@theshninja (i know, doble post), kinda think it was OK but a remake in current gen to iron some gitches and adding a bigger gama of character emotion (the sprites felt too happy for the sad story), is totally welcome in my collection, if they just fixed the bugs and design flaws on the combat (like making the abilities actually useful) the game would be perfect, btw i learned how to use Gogo and i don't think it sucks anymore (but a in game tutorial of him would be great)
I can't say who is better or more powerful but if you kill espers and poison the water supply of an entire kindom and laugh as they die because you do it for fun then that is way more evil then acting out in a fit of vengeance. So I don't know who will win in a fight but kefka is more evil.
Reminding that Kefka destroyed the world once, and was close to obliterating all aspects of human life. But two different worlds, two different villains, Sephiroth just needed to look intense to be scary with weird lighting.

and i'd like to respond to dude in the top comments... comparing kefka's "SUCCESSFUL'' destruction of his planet with Sephy's ultimate inability to do so is unfair. you see, kefka was not vying against a sentient planet that could defend itself with WEAPONS, holy-summoning Last Mohicans, the lifestream, etc., he was destroying a rather uncomplaining and defenseless enemy, sephy had to contend with all the aforementioned and could not simply move some statues to become an omnipotent god either.

I agree with badazzboxer, so many things i enjoyed from FFVII, but i'm not very proud of the game in comparison from FFVI. However, those stupids fanboys are making FFVII the best rpg in the history, but that isn't right, FFIV, FFV, FFVI, still VIII, IX, X are better, God bless the FFIX GOD MINE!, I ended FFVII, and was funny, but i don't wanna play again...

@Pharphain I mean, the knowledge that Kefka is a God was realized. He demands that the Gods give him power. Implying that he has the powers of the Gods when he receives them. ExDeath commanded the Void, I assumed he embodied the void. No idea who Ghaleon is, though. Sephiroth may have been some kind of God, but his came from the LIfestream. So, Kefka's power is basically handed to him by the Gods. Not some powerful being like the Fayth, Void, Lifestream etc., but the Gods themselves.

@krat0s9001 Some people go by the theory of Mark 5:9 which is a apparently something in the bible with Satan saying something like "I am Legion, for we are many." Christians refer to Satan as the Anti-Christ, and this is pretty much the same as Exdeath knowing that when he becomes Neo-Exdeath he's merged with all the demons of the rift which can fit to the Mark 5:9 quote, and since it fits, it also means Exdeath would be the Anti-Christ of FFV, but since there's no Chirst, it's simply Anti-God
@krat0s9001 Also, Exdeath is pretty much some sort of Deity-Like being due to the fact that the thing that created him was the essence of Enuo who is a god of darkness if I am not mistake.
@Pharphain Naw Exdeath was created from countless evil stuff being sealed into the Tree of Moore, Enuo was an immortal wizard who gave up immortality for control of the void, he was later consumed by it but his essence lived on as a boss in FFV Advance.

Terra is always depressed, Celes tries to commit suicide, Locke can't get over his Ex-Girlfriends death (MOVE ON MAN.) Umaro or whatever his name is has no story at all, I can't remember much about the other characters, the only characters I really liked were Shadow, Gogo, and Sabin.

THough I will admit I had a harder time beating Kefka then Seph, its just how it happened for me. If anyone has a problem with it, then too bad. The only fan boys are ff6 fan boys!! Ive played every final fantasy an love them all in different ways. ff6 is a classic but ff7 imo is still the best of the series. ff7 is a very dark game with a different feel to it than other ff titles. im not sure what to say about the mom'as boy thing just because emo and mom'as boy is about the only bad thing you could say. @badazzboxer As a matter of fact I've played and own every Final Fantasy except for 11 and 14, and the only significant gameplay differences between 6 and 7 are that 6 has four person parties, and 7 has three person parties and limit breaks and also that armor and accessories/relics are way more tedious on 6. In fact I have the ps1 and gba versions of 6 and both of them take over 5 seconds just to open the menu. When you look beyond your bias you'll see that 6 was essentially the roughdraft for7

i actually find quite hilarious how much FFVI fanboys hate VII and are willing to go as far as to mess around with their favorite game to prove who knows what, to tell the truth i don't even know if VI deserves such love, i played VII (wich is not my fab) and it was far from perfect but improved a lot, im currently playing VI and most characters (specially setzer and gogo) suck major balls, and in the end is far too glitchy and poorly gimick-ed, the only thing that holds up is the story

@theshninja, actually i just finished the game like a week ago, and to tell the truth i hated most of the game's beginings but loved the final part (most of all the free roaming worlda map with many optional quests), as for the programing i think it was flawed beyond the aceptable (first game in the series i ever run into a glithc by accident, like loosing interceptor for ever), as for the history events i think they were a little too ambitious for the time.

@theshninja (i know, doble post), kinda think it was OK but a remake in current gen to iron some gitches and adding a bigger gama of character emotion (the sprites felt too happy for the sad story), is totally welcome in my collection, if they just fixed the bugs and design flaws on the combat (like making the abilities actually useful) the game would be perfect, btw i learned how to use Gogo and i don't think it sucks anymore (but a in game tutorial of him would be great)

and i'd like to respond to dude in the top comments... comparing kefka's "SUCCESSFUL'' destruction of his planet with Sephy's ultimate inability to do so is unfair. you see, kefka was not vying against a sentient planet that could defend itself with WEAPONS, holy-summoning Last Mohicans, the lifestream, etc., he was destroying a rather uncomplaining and defenseless enemy, sephy had to contend with all the aforementioned and could not simply move some statues to become an omnipotent god either.

I agree with badazzboxer, so many things i enjoyed from FFVII, but i'm not very proud of the game in comparison from FFVI. FACT: Kefka accomplished much more than sephiroth did in each game.
FACT: The only reason why FF7 sold 10 million is because 3-D graphics were almost unheard of at the time of release.
FACT: The characters in FF6 are more deeply developed in character than in FF7; and there are over 10 in FF6.
FACT: FF6 is rated a much better game by reviews. Same with FF4.

@Pharphain I mean, the knowledge that Kefka is a God was realized. He demands that the Gods give him power. Implying that he has the powers of the Gods when he receives them. ExDeath commanded the Void, I assumed he embodied the void. No idea who Ghaleon is, though. Sephiroth may have been some kind of God, but his came from the LIfestream. So, Kefka's power is basically handed to him by the Gods. Not some powerful being like the Fayth, Void, Lifestream etc., but the Gods themselves.

Christians refer to Satan as the Anti-Christ, and this is pretty much the same as Exdeath knowing that when he becomes Neo-Exdeath he's merged with all the demons of the rift which can fit to the Mark 5:9 quote, and since it fits, it also means Exdeath would be the Anti-Christ of FFV, but since there's no Chirst, it's simply Anti-God

Terra is always depressed, Celes tries to commit suicide, Locke can't get over his Ex-Girlfriends death (MOVE ON MAN.) Umaro or whatever his name is has no story at all, I can't remember much about the other characters, the only characters I really liked were Shadow, Gogo, and Sabin.

@Pharphain oh and dumb ass. those "statues" were called the "Warring Triad" and he didn't steal anything throughout the entire game. he acquired a bunch of espers which gave him more and power power, he kills gestahl at perfect timing when his empire was corrupt and EARNED the title of god rank. anyone that says he stole anything didn't play the game or had trouble with comprehending the texts. the warring triad doesn't just "give" you power randomly. he used espers power to receive it. :P

@McScreamo Dude, I loaded up my save file of FFVI, and Terra even says after you beat one of the "Warring Triad" things. She says "Kefka drained the statues power, the source of magic." He didn't do shit with Espers. He killed espers, that's what he did.

@Pharphain it's quite intriguing that you don't know the difference between a "fact" and an "opinion". saying that you found ff6 to be boring is an opinion. and rather that is rather an unbelievable opinion. i found that most iconic moments in ff6 were overall much better than all of ff7's iconic moments. i laughed when Aeris died because she had no character development whatsoever and she was really annoying. Celes on the other hand had a touching suicide that left everyone in tears.

In terms of sheer power Sephiroth would whip Kefka's ass, but Kefka makes a much better villian because he's just insanely evil, whereas Sephiroth is just delusional and isn't smart enough to realize that he's nothing more than an experiment instead of the heir to the cetra's legacy that he believes himself to be.

An oppinion is like a butt crack, everyone has one. I like both games and to be honest I both villans where pretty strong. THough I will admit I had a harder time beating Kefka then Seph, its just how it happened for me. If anyone has a problem with it, then too bad. Getting worked up over a game is just pointless and childish. It was an alright vid, a bit one sided, but it was alright. Though you are most likely going to get flamed by die hard fans of Seph. ^^;

The only fan boys are ff6 fan boys!! Ive played every final fantasy an love them all in different ways. ff6 is a classic but ff7 imo is still the best of the series. ff7 is a very dark game with a different feel to it than other ff titles. im not sure what to say about the mom'as boy thing just because emo and mom'as boy is about the only bad thing you could say. I could call kefka a gay clown but at the end of the day its just a game.

Fuck FFVII fan boys...FFVI (III) was truly one of the best rpgs, god damn FFVII! Its a great game, and went out of the element of armor, and true medieval like elements! but I remember back then when people bought it, and was like "This shit isn't what I wanted, its one of those Role playing things!" Yeah, for you youngsters out there, know your fucking role, you can't even pick up a snes controller and play some good ol' 16 bit games for more than 15 minutes, then get bored, KNOW UR ROOTS!

The gameplay that is virtually exactly the same except that 6 has espers where 7 has materia? @badazzboxer As a matter of fact I've played and own every Final Fantasy except for 11 and 14, and the only significant gameplay differences between 6 and 7 are that 6 has four person parties, and 7 has three person parties and limit breaks and also that armor and accessories/relics are way more tedious on 6. In fact I have the ps1 and gba versions of 6 and both of them take over 5 seconds just to open the menu. When you look beyond your bias you'll see that 6 was essentially the roughdraft for7
