  • Lol silly squirrel, looks like he's trying to go for a swim without getting entirely wet XD.

  • '

nice this squirrel like to watch the hands before eat it

  • tube search 'Squirrel Eats an Onion' its pretty funny.

  • He's very cute :)

    Thanks for this video !!

  • You're welcome! I'm glad you liked it!

  • LOL thank you that was hilarious

  • You're welcome! Thanks for the comment - :)

  • love it!

  • Thanks! :)

  • Great video!

  • Thanks for saying so!

  • hmm. Is he trying to find a way to hang on, or maybe testing the depth? I've never seen squirrels so playful with water before - usually its all business. Very interesting.

  • I thought so too! I think he was interested in the almonds at the bottom (left behind by the raccoons the night before) - even if there weren't any almonds left, there was still the aroma of almonds - squirrels seem to go nuts for them! Hehe... yes, pun not intended - :)

  • I love all your videos!

  • Thanks for saying so! I've got more coming soon! Hehe... the hardest part is finding time to edit them lately! :)

  • This is a great video! Its amazing how you can get this footage so close and clear! Well done! Great work!

    =]

  • Thanks for saying so! I'm glad you liked the video, I've got even better shots of squirrels that I need to post soon! We've got a grey squirrel with red ear tufts that's been coming around lately and I got a *great* shot of him last week! Hehe... I'll put it up when I get a chance to edit it down! :)

  • Awesome video!!!!!

Very funny to see the squirrel acting in the water.

  • Hi! Hehe... sorry it takes me so long to respond to things! How is Molly doing?

I thought it was funny too - I didn't expect the squirrel to be interested in the water to even look in it, let alone "swim" in it!

  • Hi! Molly is fine. Winter is coming and he's only eating and sleeping. Sometimes a little fight - fun's a must.

    Hugs to you!

  • Back at you! I'm glad to hear he's doing fine, I hadn't seen him in awhile! I have plans to do another Hampsterball raccoony camera (kind of like I did last year), but a little closer to your "Egg" video. I won an auction for a camera I'm going to use in the project, but it hasn't shipped out yet and it's making me kind of nervous... :( Once I get the camera, it's going to be an interesting project!

  • hah, strange and cool! You have food in the bottom?

  • Thanks! It is kind of strange - the food is in there mainly for the raccoons, because I wanted to find a way to feed them, but keep other animals out of it (due to constraints on tape length :)) - there are a few feral cats around that area too, but they won't touch the food if it's in the water. I put some food around it too for the squirrels, but I didn't think they'd be interested in what's in the water once the rest of it's gone!

  • Ahh thought so, and nice of ya to put food out for the squirrels. I had to go to a dif feeder for the birds, to keep the squirrels off it. Now they can eat the fallen seeds on the ground.

    Excellent work my friend.

Yeah was different to see them go for the water.

  • Great video, well done!

  • Thanks! I'm glad you liked it!

Kind of switching gears, I've been kind of depressed lately by the number of gulls in the area - I haven't seen many this year! Usually by this time on a good year I would have taped them 5 or 6 times by now! I rarely see one or 2 flying around where there would have been a good size flock - even around this time last year!

  • I can't believe I missed this until now...!

    Truly wonderful footage again :-D

It's gone slightly chaotic here somewhat - I'm still filming though!

Our newly acquired lodger kitty needs to remember that whilst behind glass, the squirrels will still visit and take the pee *roflmao!*

  • Hi Abi! Long time no chat! Hehe... the "pee"? I had a squirrel scent-mark one of my feeders a few weeks ago - kind of like "yeah, it's mine - you got a problem with that??" :) I'm glad to see you're still taping things! That cat you've got now seems like he's fixed on figuring out some way to get out there! :) I taped an awesome shot from last week of 2 squirrels snuggling together, then one of them jets off to get nesting materials! I need to edit that down soon, hopefully this weekend!

  • like so fffffffffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuunnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  • yyyyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy-uuuuuuhhhhh!

  • The raccoon is such a cheater! The squirrel would have to go underwater, while the raccoon can just stand in it!

  • Hehe... that's why I put that in there! It's like "Nyah, nyah, look at me, I can do it!" :)

  • Hey, long time no talk. I hope you're getting caught up on your sleep and work isn't killing you!

Poor little squirrel... try, try and try again! Think how funny it would have been if he had fallen in, lol. (I can be so evil). Another great video!

  • Hey! Linda! Hehe... I've been wondering where you were! :) How dare you think such an evil thing! (Er... hehe... I was thinking the same thing actually! :)) They're definitely not leaving without giving it their all! The one squirrel that is in this video here seems to be the boldest of the squirrels that have investigated the dish - the other ones just sniff around, but he tries to get in!

  • well, he did maybe never see water in such a little place where he could easy step in without to swimm around.

  • I'm guessing that water dish is the equivalent to what a swimming pool looks like to one of us... enticing, but you don't want to get wet!

  • Everyone needs water. Interesting.

  • True! Some seem to take to it a little less eagerly though... :)

  • cool vid 5*

  • Thanks!

  • Funny.... Great footage! Persistant squirrel... but needs a little longer reach Id say... Thanks for posting

  • You're welcome - I'm glad you liked it! They're definitely trying, I wouldn't put it past them that they figure out a way to get in there sometime soon, wet or not!

  • Well, maybe you just need to sweeten the pot. Put something in there they JUST can't resist..:)

  • We have squirrels and racoons in our backyard who are fun to watch, too.

  • Very cool! You're lucky to have the raccoons, I have to set cams up at a friend's house to see raccoons (this particular video was shot there) - we do have squirrels at home though, a LOT of squirrels!

  • That is something lol I didn't know they didn't like water I have one here that sits in the rain with it's tail over it's head I see it once in a while on a stump on the tree lol.5/5***** for the video

  • Thanks! I'm glad you liked it! I've seen that too - completely rain-soaked squirrel, sitting on a tree branch with it's tail over it's head - it looks miserable like that, but cute at the same time... :)

  • I like how you show the example of the raccoon who just gets in there to poke about.

  • I thought it would be cool to just sneak that in there... :) Coons just thrive in the water, but they're also larger!

  • errr make that squirrels! not squirrel's!

anyway, he came and told his wife squirrel about all the nuts he was raking in and his get food quick scheme fell apart when (if?) you took the plastic pond in! :=D

    thanks :=D

  • Sure! Hehe... way to foil his scheme, he sits there wondering where all the free loot went! :)

(BTW, thanks for fixing the "squirrel's" thing - I've noticed a LOT of people put apostrophes on things that don't need them... the worst one being, and I'm serious - "new's"... :)

  • it's a squirrel dieting rage. the alpha squirrel charges a nut for other squirrel's to do upper arm exercises :=D

  • Yes! Right! Hehe... "and streeeeeeetch!" :)

  • You are mean! Just kidding. Actually, I was expecting him to fall in,but the balance these little guys have is amazing. Thanks for sharing.

  • Hehe... *I* didn't make him go in there... :) I thought he was going to also, actually - he didn't fall in (which is good :)), but he didn't get any food out of it either (which isn't good... :)) The food left over from what the coons didn't eat (almonds and cheerios) were what the squirrels found so interesting... but I didn't even expect to see them as interested in trying to get something out of it like this! :)

  • Thanks!!

  • Hey there - it has been a while!! I'm in college now - go figure - this is adorable - and it is close to my heart as we have squirrels all over our campus they are everywhere they are SO cute :-) Thanks for remembering me!!

  • You're welcome! I was wondering this afternoon where you went to! :) I'm glad you liked it! We've been having a bit of a boon of squirrels around here lately too - I think we're up to 10 or 11 now! Good luck with your studies!

  • LOL... this is some good stuff. I love your videos. :)

  • Thanks! Ninja's videos are awesome too! :) I have a lot of things I need to release... hehe... the keyword is "soon" - when "soon" is, hmmmm... :)

  • That's very cute! All the creatures are enjoying that container you put there! lol

  • Thanks! I'm glad you liked it! The raccoons love the water, but it surprised me how much the squirrel wanted to get in to it too!

  • Ya, that's what surprized me too! lol

  • Funny animals. Did you see my chipmunk video. I don't know why youtube said it's not available, something odd is going on. Maybe tomorrow it'll be fixed. Thanx for accepting my response.

Here it's too cold for the squirrels to get wet, lot of lake effect snow.

  • Thanks! I did! Very cool stuff! I don't know what's up with YT lately, I've had a lot of videos come up "This video is not available" - I've also written a LOT of people and gotten nil to no responses... something strange is going on... :)

It's been freakin' cold here lately - but no lake-effect snow yet! :)
