  • Also, the president of the Jewish Community of Thessaloniki, Saltiel, was a partner of the Germans! Like the infamous Jewish collaborationist Rekanati

  • The Jewish scholar Odette Baron - Vassar reveals for the first time that responsible for the extermination of the Jews of Thessaloniki by the Nazis were themselves Jewish collaborators, co-operating with German Jewish Councils and in particular the ..

  • @DrDavidNeiman So what do you think of Tacitus' account of the persecution of the Christians? Because the extant manuscript (there's only one!) says "chrestians," I think it was originally an account of Nero prosecuting bankers / userers / loan sharks / speculators, and incendiaries through the Les Talionis. People who preyed on others are killed by predators and incendiaries are torched.

  • when asked by the Nazis for a list of Jews on the island of Zakynthos, the Mayor consulted the local bishop, Metropolitan Chrysostomos. He told the Mayor to burn the original and actual list, then wrote his own name on a piece of paper and submitted it as the list to the German commander. Unable to thwart the Germans’ plans, despite his act of defiance, he warned the Jewish residents to hide in the mountains, where they were actively assisted by Greek Orthodox residents.

  • @JIMY45GR So did they Survive?

I would think Greeks and Jews have shared so much...

As in the Foundation of the Western World. I would not

call it a Civilization, because I would have to agree with

    Mahatma Gandhi on this point.

  • In a few centuries or decades we could boost mankind to another level of discovery, SPACE. Perhaps some of us would than understand that God, the One and Only Creator is much much more than a god, Mindbogingly vast and without any boundaries of limitation.

  • We are a multitude and if we want to say no to the idea the leaders have that we are too many we have the duty to march for peace and we must resist by all means to the concept of a WWIII. Which would only bring death and could catapult mankind back to the stoneages

  • Our human cultural differences are a richness of our legacy on this earth, and not a threat between each other. I hope one day man will be less selfish and understand that all together as a team we will give our sons and daughters a beautiful and certain future.

  • Since i have a sense for science and interest, deep interest for history as a science based on facts and that i WANT to believe in God, Judaism gets me closer to the source. There is only 1 Creator. As for history, well i hope that mankind will achieve the next step of revolution, and in my humble view it would be PEACE

  • The Coran, as a whole cannot be the one and only true word of God. Like all religious writings there are interpretations of a manifest. We could argue for another thousands of years about the meaning of God but we wouldn't get any closer to the undisputable truth.

  • As for Islam, the same problem i encounter here, the presence of God and repetitive process of his only existence and the worshipping of only Him nearly feels as a Jealous God and sometimes i had the feeling when i' ve read it that there were other gods. Here too, the writing of the Coran only started after the death of the prophet, Muhammad.

  • I am convinced that Jesus wasn't the son of God. Not possible. A creation by God indeed as everybody and everything around us. The New Testament is i guess influenced by Greek mythology, it was common to have Greek or even Roman men of great importance to refer themselves as sons or related to a god like Appolo or Zeus.

  • You do not believe it is possible for a human not to have a spirit or soul and God enters the empty place of the spirit or soul?

  • I am 36 years old now and the only religion that makes the most sense now is Judaism. There was probably a man that we refer as Christ 2000 years ago, although the name Christ comes from Greek Christos and was given years after the teacher died. The creation of the religion Christianity came after the life of Jesus

  • As humans i think we are limited to understand the essence of God because of our own materialistic existence and limitation of our lives and our daily interactions with the world around us. We can only believe or not believe in one God as Almighty being. The Jewish faith is very impressive to have reached the faith they have today as they had thousands years ago.

  • I totally agree when you explain about the difficulties ancient people had in the time understanding that there is no physical representation of God in Jewish faith. After a lot of years reading the Bible as given through my protestant education and reading of the Coran i can also now see the true meaning of God as entity in my human materialistic point of view.

  • If only there were more teachers like you. We would perhaps have less trouble amongst people. Thanks to men like Chaim Potok and yourself, i have a much better understanding on the evolution of civilisation in the Middle East. Shalom ;-)

  • Wow,what an awesome teacher, instructor. Eventhough I am a Christian,I found his historical teaching unsurpassed! And his Jewish perpective quite interesting.

  • They were traders. Just as they are today.

  • I bet the jews didn't get the attention this guy gives them from the romans egyptians or persians. they were desert dwellers
