Assuming the encoded video in here was a video of Oblivion and not a still image, did you also capture the Oblivion footage with VirtualDub? And if so, was it being compressed in real time or did you record raw footage? I ask because my hard drive appears to be too slow to write raw RBGA (I can't convince VirtualDub to use 24-bit RGB) video in real time, and using x264 to encode footage slows down the capture from 25fps to something like 12 fps.
@AlinMCs Hohoho, perhaps you need to take a closer look at the file menu in VirtualDub. Since posting this comment, I've actually been able to use Xvid to get a good processing speed and reasonable file size.
at links u found the 32 and 64 bit version of x264vfw codec
im using windows 64bit, and just the 64bit version of Virtualdub can see the installed 64bit x264vfw codec. but unfortunately Lame will not work with the 64bit version of VirtualDub!
Then im using Virtualdub 32bit version, and installed x264vfw 32bit version, and now i can convert with x264 with lame codec.
@JimmyTheJelly yeah i found those and installed them but they only show up on 32 bit version of vdub and not on 64 bit guess the codec isnt designed for 64 bit vdub or im doing something wrong
Hi there =) I have a newb question... At "Audio Compression" i dont have "Lame mp3" as an option. And i tried searching the net why. But i couldn't find any answers. Do you have any idea? Thanks =)
@JimmyTheJelly Woohoo, Yeah i got it to work after reading more of how to actually install Lame mp3 on Win7. Thanks a ton! =) Apparently it doesnt work on Virtualdub 64-bit version O_o Didnt know that.. So had to download the 32-bit version (again) hehe
@nomisage Hmm I don't know either. Maybe you have a different version of x264vfw, can't see any other reason. You don't really need those tabs though. Setting Ratefactor to 18 pretty much guarantees the best quality you can get. Under 18 the file just gets larger with no change whatsoever in image quality, while over 20 or so quality will start getting affected.
@ALLPAiNiSGONE92 That's due to YouTube compression. However if you watch the videos in HD you'll get 44.1khz 128kbps quality, the best YouTube allows.
i saw a torrent that has 40 minutes HD gossip girl avi episodes copressed from 350mb to 140mb i wanna know how, i wanna upload my LP's that way

IanSuffix 5 months ago
@IanSuffix Hey. VirtualDub cannot record. You can use a program like Fraps for that as I'm quite sure it was used to record that Oblivion clip.

@IanSuffix I see. I'd still recommend Fraps for recording, it beats anything else :)

@Dialga003 It means the video was uploaded in higher resolution than 1080p (1920x1080). In this case it's been uploaded as recorded, in 1920x1200 :)

Here's what it looks like. Also, ratefactor was set to 25. I tried 18 but made my 1hr+ videos bigger than the original.
