It was surprising to me when I started learning how many of GNRs best songs Izzy wrote outright, or was a primary writer on. I think listening to his solo stuff gives a good indication of what he probably provided for GNR. He seems great at laying a foundation, on which other bandmates, Axl and Slash, could then help build up and really create a monument out of a blueprint or framework. I can imagine Axl singing many of these lyrics, and the songs being generally “Gunned” up.

Personally I think he was the only one who took extremly serious the composition theme... I mean , slash made great compositions and axl, and steven, etc.. but what they just did it by pure talent or by lucky, like in sweet child o' mine... but elaborated compositions like Don't Cry were made by Izzy... Losing izzy was the beggining of gnr destruction... Gilby = Shit.
