That's interesting except it may foster resentment in the person who is doing the "surrendering". Resentment is like a bag of nails where one after another goes into the bag until that last one causes the bag to break and they ALL pour out at once. So it is possible that all of those times you surrendered trying to avoid minor conflict may resurface all at once and cause a major fall-out.
