I always remember the 87/88 era because Liverpool were totally destroying some teams with breathtaking football. Beardsley, Barnes, Aldridge, etc. What a team and months before it was how will they cope without Ian Rush?

but in terms of the football played a lot of people reckon 78/79 or 87/88.

@eddiemurphy12 I think the football played in 87,88 was the best and was the most atractive football any Liverpool team ever played but the 78,79 team was also something special.

@eddiemurphy12 The 83,84 season must be Liverpool's greatest ever season when they won the first ever English treble using only 16 players all season and the great IAN RUSH scored 47 goals and a penalty in the Rome shoot out.
