You are right that the support is the defining issue for neocons including military support in the middle east and financial aid. Paleocons support a non-interventionist foreign policy and are opposed to foreign aid and military intervention in the middle however neither personally being opposed or against Israel is a defining issue since you have palecons who are both personally pro-Israel and many who are anti-Israel.

I don't like that the Orthodox Jews contributed to Yes on 8, but I also know good ones and bad ones just like I know good gays and bad ones, and good conservatives and bad ones.
