  • Thank you Col. Howard for your outstanding service for the greatest country in the world!!

  • I am honored to have served with this awesome man. Truly a soldier's soldier. Good bless you Robert L Howard.

  • and this great man, just passed away last week......RIP Col. We need more men like you.

  • Scapegoats that CBS news and the other talking bobbleheads created through their socialist agenda.

  • I was at the local airport some time back waiting for my daughter to fly in. Suddenly I heard a commotion and went to see what it was. A small group of soldiers in BDUs were walking through the terminal and the people there were applauding them. Good for them, I thought, but then my next thought was: yeah, but what about the guys from my generation, the guys from Vietnam. No one ever applauded them. If they weren't ignored altogether, they were mocked and vilified. It's a god damn shame.

  • @warwolfii god damn yanks

  • That guy is so freaken AWESOME

  • Southerners always made for the best soldiers.

  • Green Berets!

  • Favorite quote: "A veteran is someone who, at one point in his (her) life, wrote a blank check payable to the United States of America for an amount up to and including his (her) life. That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand that."

  • That's a man's man right there.

  • the real life Rambo.

  • I'm a Viet veteran, but by the grace of God, was never in harm's way. Because of the atmosphere in the country at the time heroes like Bob Howard were not only ignored, but vilified. He truly is an American hero.

  • @almailman Thank you for your service.

  • RIP.. A great American Hero.

  • one in a trillion

  • Wounded 14 times......5 tours of duty in Vietnam.....Robert Howard is a true American war hero. I salute you sir. Each and every man that fought in Vietnam is a war hero to me. I salute each and every one of you Vietnam vets. I hold you all with the highest and utmost respect. Thank you for your service.

  • Absolutely amazing!

  • love how the dumb anchor, skipped Korea.

  • Sir....I salute you!....You are a true American HERO!....from a fellow Army combat veteran in Vietnam 68-69......thank you all vets that have served for the greatest free country on earth in any service and in any period! If it wern't for each and every one of you, there would be no freedom of anything ....We are a people of every color, every ethnic group, all religions, and having the right to say what you want when you want .....we even fight for the people who say bad things about us...

  • Nominated THREE times for the CMH? This is a true hero. Yes, on the homefront this war was unpopular and we who served weren't well-regarded by the nation as a whole. We were told that Viet Nam was an "unjust" war. As apposed to to our current conflict? We served on the behest of America, too.

  • You LRRPs had some serious courage. My dad was a LRRP in the 173rd Airborne Division ,74th inf. detachment and close friends with Staff Sergeant Laszlo Rabel, the only LRRP to recieve the Medal of Honor. I recently became very interested in what it was to be a LRRP. After reading many books i have gained a lot of respect for the discipline, courage and team loyalty practiced by all of the LRRPs. Lazlo Rebel is the perfect example of this. He sacrificed his life to save his team. Thanks LRRPs

  • All medal of honor recipient should be given a pension of $1000 a week for life with benefits transferring to spouse and kids until their death. These brave men gave us their real service, and its time we pay them more than just lip service. Those who thinks this is socialism should check their politic at the door, and vote to see this happen for our brave men and women.

  • @gsvkck How about more than 1,000 a week, that is only 48 thousand a year. Lets go with 2,500 a week or more.

  • im glad he was on our side, this is one baaaddd motherfucker....

  • @357magtoyourface agreed the education system is ruined by stupid left wing communists

  • @duisteve No its ruined by idiots like you arguing left wing/right wing nonsense. The education system has been going downhill for 30years in that period more Republicans has been in office than Dems. Truth is neither party has been doing well for American people, only big corporation has benefited while the people are force to pay more taxes and receive less. Give me Ron Paul or I will give you Obama....2012

  • @357magtoyourface i agree in my elementary school all the teachers said about Vietnam was that we should have withdrew and when you say other wise she refused to listen

  • I would have love to sit down and talk to him about his career and the missions he was on!! Everybody who comes into the military needs to listen to a hero like him and what it takes to make it in the military and on the battlefield!!! This hero is a role model to many that we need to hear from!!!

  • Damn! Why there is no public about modern wars heroes? Why big bosses make wars and then all that goes as routine TV news without showing population remarcable examples of heroism?????

  • I love this guy. He is a Hero in every way there is

  • Thank You Sir, I would be honored to be one of your Soldiers. God Bless you and every man who served in Vietnam.

  • It's a damned shame that the President of the United States of America is the same President that refuses to salute our flag. This SOB does not deserve one salute from ANY military person.

  • Makes me proud to be an American!!!

  • BOB HOWARD FROM ALABAMA---GOD BLESS YOU SIR!!! YOU ARE A BAD ASS AND MY HAT IS OFF TO YOU!!

  • THANK YOU BOB HOWARD !!! bro your hardcore, semper fi ..

  • Those fucking hippies protesting an American hero who was wounded 14 times, while they're back home trying to get laid and consume as many drugs as possible, its human pieces of trash like that is the reason we lost the war in Vietnam. Scum!!

  • @liviasmuhmuh those "SCUM" are now politicians in Washington. Trying to destroy this nation.

  • this man earns my respect beyond almost all.

  • BadASS!

  • God bless this American Patriot!

  • It just doesn't look proper though...38 brave and patriotic American HEROES accompanied by an America-hating,Kenyan-born Muslim.I bet he was gritting his teeth when he was with them.

  • @solocamlad Fuck you dickhead, coward.

  • @jamesdeguerre Dickhead?Coward? You're showing your intelligence...or lack of it.Typical lib...call names when you have no other recourse.Facts are stubborn things,my friend. What i said was true as Mr. Sotero does NOT love this country or the patriots he is mingling with.Listen...read...watch him as he goes about his business and you'll see it's true.I judge people by their actions but unfortunately you won't bother.Liberalism is a mental disorder so i understand your anger.

  • @solocamlad He isn't Muslim or Kenyan-born. Facts are stubborn things eh?

You are either a troll or a complete and utter moron. I'm betting on moron.

  • @jamesdeguerre Typical lib response...calling me a moron...funny but expected. Why is the country of Kenya celebrating your messiah's birthplace? In their country? Why is your messiah siding with the muslin fanatics and hating on Israel (no, i'm not Jewish)? Muslims have said they will destroy this country from within and that is exactly what your "savior" is doing. It's quite obvious to those who are informed but to people like you...i understand it's a losing battle.

  • that's one tough hombre.

  • This guy is hard core, carrying a prisoner for nine days. That is one tough man.

  • He has a type of courage and valor that shames us all.

  • My respects to an honourable man.

  • This guy is badass !!

  • Maybe those people who shot at mr. Howard in the 60's are long dead, maybe he killed them back, but the bullets they once loaded into their guns and fired are still in him.

  • Thank you Sir for your dedicated service........Rest in Peace.

  • THIS MAN, Was without a doubt a hero! A man who willingly gave his all for this country! THREE TIMES he was recommended, THREE TIMES! he should have been a triple receipiant! We needed more of him then and we need more like him NOW.

  • We should all strive to be more like COL Howard.

    CPL Ben Salaski

    USA

  • He was not one in 10,000. He was one in 308 million. May he rest in peace.

    Sergeant Bill Goswick

    USA, ret'd.

  • i grew up next door to this hero. he was the most badass man i have ever met. he taught me how to throw knives and pop eye balls outta peoples heads! R.I.P Robert Howard i will miss you.

  • a great, great warrior and american rip col be with the lord.

  • @MrHarry46 And who have you fought for MrHarry, anything other than your drug stash?

  • Who else thinks guys like this should be paid millions instead of spineless rappers?

  • @ChuckinCho I've read any number of Vietnam books written by soldiers that have mentioned Col Howard as a legend even at the time. What I have never read or heard about were what he did to get the two Distinguished Service Crosses. They were both suppose to have been MOHs as well but weren't given as they were secret missions at the time.

  • @ChuckinCho hear! hear! (hoor! hoor1 in afrikaans)

  • @ChuckinCho True words. That's why I hate the name "Soulja Boy" What the hell has he done to call himself that? It makes me sick knowing that he prances around saying "Yeah baby, Soulja boy's in the house" I think the army should sue him or at least make him complete a trial and accomplish some kind of mission before he runs his mouth.

  • Jay Z and the performers should hold a benefit to deliver money to those in the wars that are disabled to help make life easier for them financially anyway! But, that will never happen as performers are too wrapped up in themselves !

  • Hero's of freedom, you will be remembered forever. . .may all of you find peace in God's embrace.

  • Men, such as Colonel Howard are the finest of Americans

  • If anyone didn't notice Sergynkov's comments attempting to insult Col. Howard and the uniform he wore is a RUSSIAN!! I am a Vietnam vet and retired from the Army Reserve, my service pales to insignificance compared to COL Howard. R.I.P. Sir!!

  • This video is a wonderful example of how the media has totally fabricated the history, conduct and result of the Vietnam War.

Read "Unheralded Victory" by Mark Woodruff. These quasi-communist scumbag journalists LIED about Vietnam from START to FINISH.

  • Bob Howard never operated in villages so stop the war crimes comments under our deceased hero. Bob operated in Laos and northeastern Cambodia.

  • Former medic of "The Tiger Force" Harold Fischer recalled: "We entered the village and simply shooting at everybody. We do not need a pretext. If they were here, they died".

Describing the extreme cruelty shown against peasants, the former hospital attendant of platoon Larry Kottinghem has told: «It was when everyone

carried a necklace of the cut off ears».

  • @sergynkov

You must be listening to John Kerry, our war hero............ OH, John Murtha too. Ever notice the turncoats are Democrats and you'all trusted them with your healthcare......???

  • @rpmgmt66 You are correct. These bastards place war crime comments under this great man's tribute. Shame on them. Bob Howard did not go into Vietnamese villages yopu lefties. Bob was at C&C Detachment FOB 2 Kontum. He was a recon and HF man just like many a great SOG NCO. Bob operated in Laos and also south in northeastern Cambodia. For those who have not been across the fence, we did not go into yard Bouns or any villages across the damn border.

  • The Company of the 23 Infantry Division United States' has killed 567 Vietnamese women, the elderly and children in the village of Mai Lai

«I never saw anything similar. We simply came and killed civilians », has told Rion Causey.

  • i never really had a hero personally, but i definately found one

    R.I.P. Col. Howard

  • @emachines007 You've got another hero-YOU!

  • @50poiuyt Go smoke more pot, hippy.

  • The most reasonable generation of Americans was genaration of these hippies. They had mind of righteousness

  • codymagee100

If he was a SEAL, he would have never been captured.

    ---

Codymagee100, you need to watch the video again. Col Howard was never captured. He carried a captured enemy soldier. I had the honor of meeting Col Howard when I was tdy from Clark AB CCT supporting SFDK airborne operations. Your comment is disrespectful. Take your SEAL envy somewhere else.

  • @deltamike21 I agree. We knew of Bob at each of the three C&C Dets. What a soldier. Sad to hear he died.

  • @deltamike21 YOU are so very correct one hundred percent !!!!!! The Veterans and especially the Medal Of Honor heroes should be fully instilled into the heads of the young people for true inspiration of this Country ! These so-called athletes of today are mostly trash gun toting bums !

  • Wow what a brave man, 5 tours wounded 14 times! Wow what a epic story, my father was in the 75th rangers in vietnam also these guys had to fight in the jungle which must have been that much more crazy than other wars. Thank you to all our brave soldiers.

  • Bob Howard you are a great American. I hope some day a movie will be made about your service to our country.

  • @sonofmabarker omg thats the best idea ive heard in forever i pray they will be rememberd for many more years a movie would be great!

  • Rest in Peace Sir, may we meet again at the Rallying Point with the Great Ranger in the Sky....

    Rangers Lead the Way!!!

  • Indeed,

From what well of strength, integrity, honor and commitment, do we draw such men?

I am honored to have lived at the same time as you, Colonel Robert Howard.

  • godbless all the guys and women wearing a military uniform.

  • When I saw he passed, on NBC Nightly news, I was in awe at this man's story. R.I.P Col. Howard. You will never be forgotten.

  • veeeeeerry few men like this... maybe 1 in 10,000...

  • Comment removed

  • @LouieG7777 the only reason id disagree is because it may be less than 1 and 10,000, robert howard, carlos hathcock, and chesty puller are possibly the 3 baddest men to ever wear the uniforms of the United States Armed Forces.

  • @TWBouska That's right. Don't forget General Patton, Chesty's uncle.

  • @TWBouska You need to add Roy P Benavidez (Tango Mike Mike ) his heroism is unparalleled..check out the 6 1/2 minute Youtube video

  • @TMM22481 thanks for letting me know, ill definitely check it out.

  • @TWBouska You're welcome TW I look forward to your comments.. thanks

  • @LouieG7777 add a few more zeros
