This needs to be changed in the rule book. I've never understood why they allow goalies to remain god like and untouchable when they're out of the crease. Especially, this far out like Hasek was. I commend Keith Tkachuk. Let the goalies see what it's like to play with the big boys if they want to come wandering out of the crease.

Why is it a penalty for a player hitting a goallie but not a goallie hitting a player? If one can hit the other it should be able to be sent back, but not when he's in the crease... Tim Thomas does this and i find it INCREDIBLY stupid!
the goalie on my hockey team the last 3 years wouldnt allow this ever, even if someone steps inside his crease after the whistle he'll get them in a headlock and blocker them. if you think he's a goon he's actually one of the best goalies from where i live

@jkrx charging is taking strides, sure he kinda did that i guess, but its also keeping ur hands up and pushing him at the same time so i wouldnt agree that its charging, maybe roughing at most but i dont think it was an illegal check, back then they didnt have the protect the goalie rules like they do today and anyways goalies arent alowed to be there now anyways, so according to the rules back then i think it was a clean hit

@skew06 but our pads are only designed to take direct hits from the front. Anything to the side or back and we have no protection, where a players pads are designed not to be hit by the puck, but from other players.
@mylifeishiding not really player have only front protection shinguards only protect the front chest protector only protects shoulders and chest has a slim layer of micro foam on it and thats about it the pants dont have paddin on the back just a slim piece of plastic. players are just use to getting hit

I don't give a fuck how much padding you have, if you get your head checked into the boards at full speed, you're fucking going down, if only for a second. i love it when the goalies get nailed. They take the chance when they go into the corner for the puck like that, I guess now thats why they made the gay ass trapezoid that the goalie cant leave now. I say let them nail the goalie if hes out of the net, hell theyve got the most pads out of anyone.

@skew06 but our pads are only designed to take direct hits from the front. Anything to the side or back and we have no protection, where a players pads are designed not to be hit by the puck, but from other players.
