It's a petty that the people don't understand because the texte of the song is formidable (very interresting) and deserve to be understable for every one.
Just before ending the tube-session and going to bed I suddenly had the strange idea to search for the word "ganev". I know what it means but I have no idea why it came to my mind.
And this is what I find. A most beautiful song. Great tune and a wonderful, wonderful singing voice. Thanks for uploading.
Mordechai Gebirtig was a genius. It is so sad that he was silenced by the holocaust. He and millions of others. I won't even try to express my feelings about that.
This has kind of freaked me out. Chansons Yiddish is one of my favourite albums, Vladimir Vysotsky is one of my all-time favourite musicians, and my username is Captain Beetheart. It is nice to meet you!
That IS rather an odd collection of coincidences... Though I suppose it's nice to be assured that there ARE in fact other like-minded (and of course, therefore totally awesome) people SOMEWHERE in the world...
