yea ill use that 1, another 1 i do is to lie on ur back with ur kness bent and touchin then fall ur legs togetehr to 1 side, have a dumbel 2-10kg in ur hand behind ur head with the other arm flat out on the mat 4 balnace, then do sidways crunches tryin to get ur elebow as close to ur ribs as u can. do about 50 reps then alternate, 2 sets on each side. hope this helps people, i find it brilliant and really defines ur front abs by boxing them in from the side. thumbs up so ppl can read this :)

@3sixsex... to exercise the serratus you need to either do uneven pushups with one arm much higher than the other, or by doing pull-overs where you lay across a bench are extend a weight above your head then bring the arms over the chest. The serratus run beneath the chest in connect the upper abdonimals to the lats.

Planking and other phoney fitness magazine exercises do not develop adominal muscles to any signifcant degree. They don't give the athlete much or any new added strength to apply to their golf swing, bat swing, or left hook. Training your back and abdominals properly will protect you from injury. It's people that overtrain and train incorrectly that develop back problems. Planking serves no purpose.
Anabolic Steroids do NOT improve abilities on the playing field by themselves. They don't increase the development of your skill as an athlete. However, like it or not, athletes use them because they DO work. They work because they increase muscle strength and power developed in the gym. The muscle and strength is the applied-to-the-function of the athlete. Only the repeated activity of Wrestling will develop the skill a wrestler needs. NOT " functional training." Wrestling + Applied strength.
Most people who've worked out more than 15 years will tell you that the term.." core muscles " was unheard of until recently. It's sort of a Madison Avenue term to describe waist, abdominal and muscles of the lumbar region. All muscles in the body have specific actions and insertion points, there are NO muscles identified or catagorized as..." stabilizer muscles;" ..which is another Madison avenue term. You will never hear an othorpedic surgeon refer to any muscle group...as "stabilzer muscles."
As McGill notes, the "plank" works the core muscles isomentrically and that's exactly how we use the core mucscles from the minute we rise in the morning until we go to bed at night. .. functionally appropriate.

Planking and other phoney fitness magazine exercises do not develop adominal muscles to any signifcant degree. They don't give the athlete much or any new added strength to apply to their golf swing, bat swing, or left hook. Training your back and abdominals properly will protect you from injury. It's people that overtrain and train incorrectly that develop back problems. Planking serves no purpose.

Anabolic Steroids do NOT improve abilities on the playing field by themselves. They don't increase the development of your skill as an athlete. However, like it or not, athletes use them because they DO work. They work because they increase muscle strength and power developed in the gym. The muscle and strength is the applied-to-the-function of the athlete. Only the repeated activity of Wrestling will develop the skill a wrestler needs. NOT " functional training." Wrestling + Applied strength.

Most people who've worked out more than 15 years will tell you that the term.." core muscles " was unheard of until recently. It's sort of a Madison Avenue term to describe waist, abdominal and muscles of the lumbar region. All muscles in the body have specific actions and insertion points, there are NO muscles identified or catagorized as..." stabilizer muscles;" ..which is another Madison avenue term. You will never hear an othorpedic surgeon refer to any muscle group...as "stabilzer muscles."

As McGill notes, the "plank" works the core muscles isomentrically and that's exactly how we use the core mucscles from the minute we rise in the morning until we go to bed at night. .. functionally appropriate.
