Excellent! Stuttering Roscoe Ates was in Freaks. Dick Cramer menaced Laurel and Hardy in "Scram" and "Saps at Sea." Lloyd French directed several classic Laurel and Hardy 2 reelers and the Stooge classic "An Ache in Every Stake."
If you notice the catcher for Detroit is wearing number7 when Dizzy dean gets a hit. When Shemp scores the catcher is wearing number 9. Minor point, but I like minor points.
For years I have heard that Shemp and the Stooges made many film shorts that were lost to history. I am so glad that youtube has provided this episode to confirm what fun they were and hope that you can provide more of them.
Aye! Don't knock Curly... He was the Lord Byron of comedy... the John Lennon of chuckles... mind you Shemp was pretty friggin good too! What a family... Moe, Shemp and Curly!! Unsung heroes,,, they deserve a posthoumas Academy Award
This is not the only stooges/baseball film. In 1919 both Moe and Shemp appeared in a film called "Spring Fever" with Honus Wagner. It would be great if someone could dig that one up and post it.
Being both a lifelong Cardinals and Stooges fan, I appreciate you putting this up! I had heard about this short and searched the words 'Dizzy' and 'Shemp' and, sure enough, this came up.
