  • good to see Mick Taylor laughing! (well, is he around 3:00, isn't he?)

  • Just my humble opinion, but I was born in Dec 1968, and me and 2 of my bro's worshiped the band's from this era, mainly the Stones and Zep. Conclusion, ie high points I have found: Zep, Since I've Been Loving You, live. Ike And Tina, Ive been lovin you too long. Stones: Just about anything. Queen "Love of my life" from a night at the opra. Just a few of my gem's. Bag if u will

  • Ian ' Stu ' Stewart ~ The Sixth Stone ! 1:26

  • What the hell was Mick on back then? I presume heroin, though maybe pot?

  • @chingchangchongfly Sir Mick to be was tripppin' alright, it's called an ego trip, and no wonder, why don't we all give him a long overdue break..

he was just a young brit college student from a hard working energetic family that was shaking off the wounds/rubbled memories of WWII just like so many others in his day, and then all of a sudden the whole world is made him a god ?? from Edith Grove to godhood !! if you ask me even Jerry Garcia looked a bit intimidated..

  • So much judgement about it all. Geez! They were all kids! So Mick is a little bit of a douche, so what? He's obviously stoned, and goofing around for the camera. It's all in good fun, and thank God we get to see it. This is awesome in so many ways!

  • lol @ kreutzmann talking to jagger: "but we had a marvelous lunch... marvelous lunch"

  • okay wake up.. he learns quickly.

one question.. why the deadhead call MPJ reddi killowatt when Jerry looks like a purple lotus petal

  • @LovetoUtoo Ready Killawatt is Phil Lesh who subsequently enters..

  • @rick063092 oh okay

  • Comment removed

  • @LovetoUtoo too bad they didn't hightail it then and there we all make mistakes

  • @1Diamonddoor yup, mine just happened to be for almost 4 years

  • @LovetoUtoo ..meaning the wannabe hells angels 007posers, n then the Dead acting like kids that just threw a cobra in someone's house n doesn't wait to see the aftermath..

I feel Jerry felt some kind of revenge for being upstaged although no doubt sad too

  • 1:30.. Ian Stuart ?? they all shoulda hightailed it outta there n trusted their guts..

    in my heart

the whole thing was a reptilian setup to make Satan's growing n glowing kids look bad

in the USA so the USA bands would have a chance in the world market

  • 'what is going on...' that's what I wanna know 42 years later.. welcome to America..

n now we know who really 'was' the brains n heart of the rolling stones.. CHARLIE !!

  • I love both The Stones and The Dead, but who advised The Stones to use Hells Angels as security at Altamont - THE DEAD; and who fucked off without playing a note at Altamont when they saw what was happening - yes, THE DEAD

  • Mick Jagger has charisma & star quality just doing simple things.

No wonder he did so well.

  • So i've heard the Grateful Dead are big in U.S.A for years now.I havent heard much of their music because it didnt get airplay here.

  • Charlie is funny, lol

  • Jagger seemed really stoned. Charlie Watts' pants were very '69. Interesting to see these folks when they were young, i.e. Garcia in his poncho phase (Workingman's?).

  • does jagger like to take the piss out of charlie

  • @mollybella1000 most high Charlie handles Sir Mick very well.. "love is much more a deeper thing than that.. it is not flippant to be sold away on celluloid.."

n @ 2:98 Mt and his girl gave Charlie the game on that comment so do I..

I love Mick Jagger but on this one i say.... go Charlie !!!!

  • great !!!! they all have personalities !!! nothin' wrong with mick here . . . he's just that way.....it's what makes him great !!! that attitude is tight !!!!

  • GIMME SHELTER WAS ONE HELL OF A MOVIE, I WISH THEY WOULD MAKE A BEHIND THE SCENCES OF THE 1969 TOUR , I AM SURE THEY HAVE MORE THEN ENOUGH , CHARLIE IS VERY FAITHFULL TO HIS WIFE , WAY TO GO !!

  • @NYCPUBS - Think about that a minute. - Wasn't Gimme Shelter a DOCUMENTARY? - It don't get any more behind the scenes than this. This is leftover footage from the Gimme Shelter Movie, only available (at this time) on the bonus DVD that came with the Get Yer Ya Yas out boxset in 2010

  • Charlie Watts an English gentleman.

  • Two of the best bands ever!

  • is this from a more recent DVD release of Gimme Shelter.?

never seen it before. Thanks for uploading it. A

  • i know gerry garcia was an awesome player and singer but he really needed to shave that hair off his face....he looked so stupid and ugly

  • @platter1000 hahaha, do us all a favor and get out of here you superficial prick.

  • @platter1000 What are you talking about? People have beards, it's not your style cool, but this was the 60's after all. What are appearances really important or good music? That kind of comment sound pretty up-tight.

  • So sick seeing Mick and Jerry talking to each other

  • @broreguard41 How often do you get to see or hear two music legends like Mick and Jerry talk? How could you get sick of this semi- rare historical meeting of musical giants. You must be too young to appreciate the significance.

  • @nicktidyman - SICK to the youth of today means "COOL" - that's what I think @broreguard41 meant. Right?

  • @jagfug yes, that means cool.

  • @nicktidyman Wow dude, sick means "awesome" Chill out

  • Nice to see Ian Stewart on the film

  • Glad the Embarcadero Freeway was torn down after the 89 earthquake, what a colossal F- up of engineering that was.

  • Groovy video, Baby! Yeah!

  • Who's the doosher between Ian Stewart & Mick @ 1:52 - ish ?

  • @bretoff Not sure. Him and the other guy talking to Mick were in the movie Gimmie Shelter too.

  • @dsfddsgh Yeah, he was in the hotel room with Mick & Keith when they cranked up Brown Sugar on a tape machine & he was there looking like such a hanger-on & basic doosh bag, but I guess it comes with the territory

  • @bretoff Let's face it we would have killed to be in his position back in 1969 hanging out with the Stones.

  • @dsfddsgh Your right ....

  • @bretoff Stanley Booth, an American music journalist. He chronicled his travels with the Rolling Stones in several of his works. Also wrote about Keith.

  • @MrRobin14669 Thanks for the info, I have now read about him and he's written many acclaimed books about the Stones, Keith, 69 Tour etc., & probably doesn't deserve to be called a doosher .....

  • WHERE IS KEEF????

  • Jerry and Bobby are so dorky........LOVE IT!

Mickey has to be the weirdest guy there.

  • Just love the way Ian Stewart (guy in the blue jacket, dark hair, cockney accent) talks to Jagger like he is some arrogant schoolboy who needs to get back to earth. Jagger is obviously VERY stoned! Look at his eyes!

  • Who is girl with sun-glasses ? Mick kised ?

  • optically stu was a perfect fit for oasis

  • Comment removed

  • @marklarrr you're pretty ignorant, man.

  • What a twit Jagger is. The Dead and Charlie Watts look even more cool in comparison.

  • my older brother used to have a pair of pants just like Charlie's. lol

  • I Fuck'd Mick Jagger

  • bobby is SO young

  • Who are those dudes with beards?

  • There all havin a laugh & then Jagger comes along acting like a Pompous,Spoilt Prick! What an embarresment Mick!!

  • @67psych he n charlie very smart europeans n they felt the trouble n betrayal in the air.. n yes when sir mick gets uncomfortable he goes on the hunt thinking with his not so little head.. maybe soon he will change for a minute... any bets ??

  • @Not2commonofcaurse now you know why Alain called you naive Jagger is what he is and you ain't gonna do no spells to attract him that's not your style so give it up

  • There always seemed to be some Chick/Groupie hanging about on the scene in this Era that went about asking people what there Star Sign was.normally with spacey names like Moonchild ect!! Very Spinal Tap!! LOL!! WHATS YOUR SIGN BABY?

  • FLIPPANT'S THE WORD, INFUCKINGDEED.

TELL IT TO THE BUDDING DIRECTOR ,CHARLIE. LET 'LUCIFERA' HERSELF KISS THE LITTLE WHORE ON THE FOREHEAD......WHAT A -D O R K-.....

    ROYALTY ?......SCHMOYALTY....CUT /

No wonder they kept this little treasure from popping up in "Gimme Shelter".

Oh well...brilliant performers can be assholes too.At least he shows here he's too human after all.

  • @PAULLONDEN I completely missed that. Not nice, but even the benevolent king has a dark side too. The airplane scene in the film CS Blues shows a similar side to Jagger. He is human. But he has never lopped off any heads. He's just a bit wild.

  • @theelevan1 and how exactly do you know this about Mick Jagger...?

  • @susaninmaine I knew Mick's mother, who said that Mick was a good boy, who would never send anyone to the guillotine.

  • @theelevan1 lmao U just made my day i love him deeply but your sense of humor could win you a pulitzer prize

  • @PAULLONDEN Mick Jagger stands the tests of time. Nuff Said!

  • Poor girl. Stanley Booth wrote that she was fat.

  • 60's Bill Kruetzmann

  • 00:43 ROCK ROYALTY JUST CAME THRU.

    MICK KNOWS IT.

    EVERYBODY ELSE KNEW IT.

  • @niggaT42000 Very well said! It's great to watch Garcia enjoying his brush with royalty so much.

  • i would exchange my whole life for "upwards of a couple of hours" waiting around a heli-pad with jerry and jagger

  • Charly Watts. He's the man :-)

  • @WeirFaithful me too!!! Aw when Jerry throws something at Weir haha. Bobby is so cute.. and I love Mick, but is it just me or is he being a bit of a diva in this vid!?

  • 1:19 Ian Stewart

  • Wow... Even back then, Jerry was cool as could be and Mick was a spoiled little bitch.... Fascinating...

  • @JoshuaTaylor S-P-O-I-L-E-D? I Know you mean C-O-O-L

  • @JoshuaTaylor haha. I was thinking the same thing. Jerry's the man.. I like Jagger more when he is singing.

  • Acid
