  • Growing up around these majestic birds with my dad flying these most of his career, it is nice to see them live on through these great videos!

  • Cool airplane. My dad was aircrew on a whale with VQ-2. Sweetness!

  • While I knew that it was an EB-66 depicted Bat-21, I've often wondered though, if they actually used one of the VQ Whales for filiming purposes. Anybody know if they did?

  • I can almost read that weight and balance sheet

  • Awesome videos Whalenav!! I was an AT3 in VQ-2 from 1979 to 1983, did many a "bleed air check". When I tell people about it they think I am full of shit!!! Now I have PROOF!!

  • VAQ-135 det2 out of NAS Alameda. 1970-73.

Made two Med. cruises with the whales. Kept

two on the boat, and one in Rota or Corfu.

  • Any and all here this.. sign up on facebook, many ship mates are looking for you... I found shipmates there i forgot about.. this is not B.S.

  • Once again, another great aircraft designed for and by the Navy that the Air Force needed and didn't have. The largest a/c routinely operated from a carrier. Used in many roles (recon, ECM, ASW, air tanker). The plane shot down at the beginning of "Bat 21".

  • Actually, milano61, it was an EB-66 Destroyer that was shot down at the beginning of "Bat 21".

  • A great video of a great aircraft. The whale saved many attack pilots running out of fuel waiting for the F-4s to get aboard at night. Hats off to all tanker jocks and crews.

  • Scott Fuller...damn been a whi;le...How ya doin dude?

  • VQ-1 EC-121Js and EP-3Es 1974-1976, then VAQ-33 ERA-3Bs 1979-1982. Mighty lonely all alone in the belly of the Wale.

  • Alls we did is haul mail LOL

  • Great Vid. Is that The Vinson? If So I maybe the grape that can be seen going to Fuel Station #6 after the Whale landed.
