While I knew that it was an EB-66 depicted Bat-21, I've often wondered though, if they actually used one of the VQ Whales for filiming purposes. Anybody know if they did?
Awesome videos Whalenav!! I was an AT3 in VQ-2 from 1979 to 1983, did many a "bleed air check". When I tell people about it they think I am full of shit!!! Now I have PROOF!!
Once again, another great aircraft designed for and by the Navy that the Air Force needed and didn't have. The largest a/c routinely operated from a carrier. Used in many roles (recon, ECM, ASW, air tanker). The plane shot down at the beginning of "Bat 21".
A great video of a great aircraft. The whale saved many attack pilots running out of fuel waiting for the F-4s to get aboard at night. Hats off to all tanker jocks and crews.
Man It's been a long time whalemates. I have the guam VQ-1 Four Whale fly-by on tape. I think it was "88" I just checked it out and its in good quality but, I'll have to digitize it befor posting. Hold fast. "John boy"
Growing up around these majestic birds with my dad flying these most of his career, it is nice to see them live on through these great videos!

Actually, milano61, it was an EB-66 Destroyer that was shot down at the beginning of "Bat 21".
