@erikskatethrash I stopped watching Dexter after she died. Your completely right, she was the only one humanizing dexter. The other girls that liked Dexter only accepted him for what he was, but they weren't getting the best out of who he could be. That was different with Rita, they were in a way healing each other. Instead, the writers took the easy way out, killing Rita was like resetting the series. It should have ended after S6 or S7 focusing on Dexter's change + his relationship with Rita.
