If any one knows physics or the subject required, can you answer my question? Why does the magnet appear to change the direction of the spin? If you see the video, we know that it's only spinning one way because the air is only travelling in one direction, but it looks like the magnet stops moving in one direction and start moving in the opposite direction.

Just a little curious question if any one could answer.

It's because most video is shot with 30 frames per second. Depending on the rpm of a spinning object, it may appear to be going the opposite direction on film.

Newtons 3rd law 'all object exist at rest or in a state of constant velocity unless acted on by an external force'.. the reason why the balls dont go flying initially when spinning  is because the magnetic force is holding the balls together.. this force can be called the 'centripedal' force..but centrifugal force is fictional.. The moon is trying to move in a straight line (Newton's 3rd law).. now if the moon was spinning faster it would fly off into space..if it was moving much slower, or something suddenly stopped it, it would crash into the Earth as you said.. but the forces are in equilibrium. i.e. force of gravitational pull from Earth = force to move the moon (that should move in a straight line) move in a curved orbit..now smoke some drugs:)
