I was fond of music and movies now I hate music and I hate movies I rather to watch a video in you tube about death or jujement day better then tv and other stuff in fact since I am watching those videos I am thinking only how I am gonna face ALLAH in the grave and in the jujement dayso I left the beauty of the life behind and I am foccusing about practising my religion by leaving music ,movies ,I wake up fpr FAJR on time ,I pray on time and it s feel so great it `s neema ELHAMDOULILLAH
Yasir Qadhi says the truth! I used to listen to so much music some years ago that, A'oodhobillah, it would be Ramadan night and I'd be listening to music and fall asleep with the songs blaring in my head.
Allah(swt) guided me towards Him and while initially, it came as a surprise that Music was impermissible, I slowly started pulling myself back from it.
And yes, now when I hear music, it's "noise" to me, can't stand it... it is the Qur'an which is "music" for me now! Alhamdolillah!
Alhamdulillah i came to the exact same conclusion a year ago. May allah give us all the tawfeeq to draw closer to the haq and to be amongst the rightly guided (saved sect).
it's funny how some people would try to defend that music is not haraam it's crazy, the shiekh made it very clear "one heart cannot love music and quran at the same time", their have been dispute about nasheed but nasheed i would say it's permissible only under the law of sharia ie no music(drum, beats, heavy instruments) and only praising or glorifying allah and his messenger and his deen.
for those who love thier hip hop, pop and rock music etc it will weaken the emaan and put doubt into you.
You don't have to agree or disagree bro. Yasir Qadhi is indeed a briliant scholar. Just because you love music, just like some song lyric, "there's a music in me"you start to disagree with him. The easiest way to discard music in your life is to read and listen more to the quran. Very soon with the hidayah from Allah you will start to hate music totally.Believe me because I xperience the same thing, alhamdullah.

Salam Alekum my dear brother, people today who have made Music Halal , have proved the Prophet's (PBUH) prophesy which says:
One hadith from the Bukhari , the most authentic Book of Hadith, further confirms unlawfulness of music and singing :
`There will be people of my Ummah who will seek to make lawful; fornication, wine-drinking and the use of ma`aazif ( musical instruments ).`
