From the looks of the water, the mother is probably dryed up and the baby is made her sore from trying to nurse. This is how baby monkey die in the wild. If the mother get too tired of it, she is capable and will kill it. If he crosses the male he will die too. If a new leader takes over he will kill all the babies.
Baby monkeys stand a less then 40% chance of survival in the wild.
Zoos like this are terrible. Water sould be fresh and running for them.
