You can't say Flex should have won as well though. I don't understand the whole Flex was ripped off thing. Sure he has an amazing body, but 97 Kevin should have won, not Flex, Flex also has obvious synthol use in the Delts and Calves. Beyond 97, Coleman blows anyone out of the water. @04mha flex wasn't even competing in 97 mr O...2002 and 95 are kevin's years and flex, he was in the right place at the wrong time...he was a first runner-up in 93 98 and 99. 93 was dorian's best year 98 and 99 were ronnie's best years. but I think that flex fucked up the 98 mr O...he cheated on his diet too much and that cost him his victory. He lost by 3 points..he probably does a facepalm every time he hears about that..

@TrueDiligence because of lack of proportion. it was often commented in the mags at the time that levrone "has no torso" . . . exaggeration of course, but look at the clip again and notice how huge his shoulders (and arms) are compared to his chest . . . this is seen as lack of proportion by the judges, and he'll lose points for it. remember, levrone placed 3rd at this contest . . . not too shabby at all! . . . so it only takes something like this to separate 1st from 3rd.

Kevin contracts too but in addition pulls his arm across his chest pushing his pectorals towards his sternum forcing his muscles to clump thus making them look bigger than they actually are. Find a video of Arnold and you'll see that at no point does he bring his arm across to meat out his pec.

yes i read that in 1 of his interviews. alot of bodybuilders started to train like yates as he had so much info that was not considered the norm at the time. at newcastle mayfair suite i attended a seminar that he gave and he touched on diet. most people did not no what he was on about as he was so far ahead of his time. it was very interesting and he must of done alot of research in to the sport and this is what made him a great champion

Again the torn tricep came right before the 97 olympia and nobody knew until after.Thats why after the show he decided to retire because he couldn't use the same weights anymore.He actually was going to compete in 98 but realized by April of that year he couldn't train all out and maintain his physique(upper body anyway)so decided to call it a day.He's already a millionaire anyway.He was the first person to make over a milliion dollars from prize money.
